“Depending on feedback from the general community we intend to release Nekokami v1.0 in early 2026.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full release of Nekokami is planned to include more star systems, biomes, and most importantly, Kami (cats). With player feedback collected, we also plan to implement polish over all aspects of gameplay.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current version contains 22 star systems, 6 biomes, and a good selection of Kami (cats).”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes, the price of the game will likely be adjusted upward as more content are made available.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Players are encouraged to give us feedback in the Steam community forum and on our social media accounts. In fact, we have a button in-game that will take players to give feedback with a single click. Based on feedback from our players, we will expand on gameplay modes, features, and biomes that the community expresses the most interest in. Players are also encouraged to report accessibility and usability issues, or anything that is impeding their fun, so that we can improve in those areas.”

We repeat again: the Universe of Nekokami is thoroughly, totally inhibited by Cats. Your colleagues are Cats. You seem to be a Cat. Even the gods and spirits (the Kami*) roaming among the stars are Cats!

🌟 Your Cat colleagues can be found working on all sorts of environments and biomes over the Milky Way. Every one of the 30 Star Systems is a world of its own! Don't worry, your Cat colleagues probably don't completely get what they are doing as well. You can always experiment at your own pace.

🐈 Oh yes, the Kami. Technically the spirits are the real fellows creating the worlds. As a Planetary Architect, you are basically borrowing their Creative Energy. You will need to seek their acceptance and approval. Through their friendship, you will potentially learn the secrets of nature and the arcane laws of universe. Maybe someday you will be able to wield godly powers?

*Kami: A Japanese word that would roughly, but not completely, translates to "spirits and gods" in English.
