Why Early Access?

“We think that Early Access is a fantastic opportunity to involve players early in development. Given the dual nature of gameplay in Starground, it's necessary to get feedback so both dungeoning and automation is as fun as possible.

Players can take an active role in development of Starground by playing and leaving feedback. This will shape what Starground will eventually become, which is a game that caters to what player's actually want and not just what we think people want.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Starground will be in early access for as long as it takes to create a finished and polished experience. As of right now, this will likely take around a year of continual development, but could be extended depending on the eventual scope of the game.

During this time, we will continue updating the game, adding more gameplay features and polishing what is already there.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“As it stands, we plan for the full version of Starground to have more content in all aspects of the game. This includes more machines and recipes for automation. For dungeoning, there would be multiple dungeons to explore, each with their own unique sets of enemies and loot.

We also plan to introduce new gameplay loops into the game that can enhance pre-existing gameplay, such as fishing or farming.

On top of these features and new gameplay, we hope to make Starground as polished as possible, with a wealth of quality of life features.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Starground in Early Access is continually improving and changing, but the core of what gameplay pillars are being worked on are already complete. This includes working automation and building, and a complete dungeon system with enemies, bosses, and more. Multiplayer is fully implemented and is functional with every aspect of the game.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“As Starground continues to become a more feature-rich experience, we will likely increase the price on release to reflect the increase in content to enjoy.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“The community is absolutely central to the development of Starground in Early Access. We are taking in feedback on Steam forums, Discord, and every other place we release content.

We are always taking in feedback, whether that's a feature that would improve the game or an issue that has to be dealt with. We are developing the game not just for the community, but with them.

We hope to cater to this feedback in its outright, or come to a compromise that will improve the game for everybody.”
