Why Early Access?

“Poly Beats, no matter how much content we add, is designed for a community - first and foremost. We want to build a game that evolves with players!

Our development process isn’t just about us – it’s about collaborating with players, we think they're very crucial to a good game.

By releasing in Early Access, we can test our angle at community involvement and make sure our development can somewhat align with how players interact and provide feedback.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Approximately a year, although it could take slightly more or less time depending on the progress we make, and how people enjoy our game.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Poly Beats is gonna be packed with features from the jump - but the full version is planned to be far more polished, a final product of what we can do when we pull our weight and take our community on-board for the journey.

Things that might be requested such as more ways to play, alongside more artist collaborations - and things players might not know they need, like better infrastructure so that our game performs smoothly along the competition.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Poly Beats is in an exceedingly good state. It's polished well and has a good amount of replayability, alongside a good handful of features to keep players engaged, such as multiplayer, interesting map gimmicks, Marketplace (our implementation of the Steam Workshop) and competitive mechanics.

As for music, OST 1 is in the game, alongside Custom Songs integration that will be available both for players, and Steam Workshop, and we plan to secure collaborations with external, underground artists. We want to give them recognition <3”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Not the base game. Poly Beats as an application by itself with all our core features like custom chart-maps, OST levels, Extras, multiplayer, and even more than this; will stay free forever.

HOWEVER, we're going to monetize a few things throughout (or after) the Early Access process. We'll be experimenting with different, but attempting to not be intrusive or predatory, monetization ideas such as paid Tune Packs (or "Music Packs" like every other game likes to call them) and maybe some monthly supporter donator tiers.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We'll keep in touch with our community regularly, whether that be through here (Steam) or other means like Discord. We want to include all of you, every step of the way. We want to grow this game alongside you - because at the end of the day you're our community, right? Wouldn't it be nice to see this cool little thing bloom because of your input?

Regardless, the community is the heart of development, and we're absolutely adamant on having you onboard with us throughout Poly Beats' lifetime :)”

A NEW CONTENDER TO THE RHYTHM GAME SPACE

Welcome to Poly Beats, the 5K Rhythm Game that's all about proving absolutely nothing! Our goal? Simply to rival big games like Quaver. Think it's tough? Think again, because this is hands down the coolest 5K rhythm game around (maybe, most likely… probably. uh)

"WHAT EVEN IS A 5K RHYTHM GAME?"

Glad you asked. Well, a rhythm game is a game where you do something to the beat, or, rhythm of the music, and your goal is to stay as accurate as possible with your timing.

In our case, our game is 5K, which means you have 5 inputs that could be tested for that accuracy at any given moment in a song. Usually, other games only hit for 4K or 7K (no idea why they pick 7 though. That's such an odd number.)

CUSTOMIZE… EVERYTHING?!

We were all about making Poly Beats tailor to you, from the start. Personalize your game with custom keybinds, maps, colors, and note effects. But we're not stopping there – visit the Poly Beats Marketplace, our implementation of the Steam Workshop - where players worldwide can effortlessly share and access custom maps and themes.

STREAM!

For our casual players, we've got something special – Stream! Our in-house decoration system & runtime, that lets map creators go wild with decorations like shapes, light rays, and custom shaders! Plus, it's super easy with our in-game Decoration Editor.

INNOVATIVE GAMEMODES

Check out our 'Rags To Riches' gamemode. Receive songs from other players and aim to outdo the previous player within a set time. Climb the Poly Beats League ladder and earn those Skill Points!

RANKED DIVISIONS

If you're hungry for more competition, try Ranked Divisions. Collect Skill Points in Freeplay mode to move up divisions, from Feather III to Elite I!

TUNE PACKS + ARTIST COLLABS

We want to actually consistently give songs to our community, unlike another game... where you rely on only the community after the tutorial. We intend to make official OSTs for all our players who regularly want new challenges, and make sure to keep an eye on the ‘Extras’ pack, as this is updated regularly! <3

We're not just about our songs – we collaborate with other artists too! Get ready for diverse tune packs, and don't worry, we won't make you go broke.
