Why Early Access?

“We want to work with the player community to create the best version of this game that we can. We believe we have created a great core of a game and we have our plans to expand it out, but we know the invaluable impact of directly involving the players. Early Access will let us arrive at version 1.0 with the best possible game experience.

We worked for over 4 years on post-release updates and DLC of another action roguelite that also went through Early Access. We've seen under the hood of one of the best roguelites out there and appreciate how effective Early Access and the importance of open communication between the dev team and the players can be. We want the same thing for The Rogue Prince of Persia.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan to be in Early Access for around a year, probably a little bit longer. Of course, we have our own plans for extra content, but the whole point of Early Access is to work with you, the community. So, if we need to take a couple months more to improve the game because you're giving us great suggestions, then we’ll do it!”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to add all the good stuff – more levels, weapons, features, enemies, bosses, story acts and meta progression. Along the way we want to find out if there's anything we can add to the core gameplay too. In fact, our plan is to double the amount of content from Early Access launch to 1.0.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“A challenging but accessible action-platformer roguelite – a combination of fluid platforming, fast-paced acrobatic combat and the first Act of a dramatic adventure story. There are seven levels, two bosses, several primary & secondary weapons and upgrades/medallions.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Our current plan is to double the amount of content from Early Access release to 1.0 release, so we might raise the price to fairly reflect the content of the game as it develops. Of course, any price increase will be communicated well in advance!”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“First off, we will be communicating and interacting regularly in the Steam Community Hub through news posts and the forums. We also have our own section in the official Prince of Persia Discord for discussion about the game, its latest update and alpha/beta testing of upcoming updates. Feedback will be gathered from both Steam and Discord – anyone can take part in these, just follow the instructions in the appropriate Steam post!”
