What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We're a small team with big dreams for this game. Going the Early Access route lets us work closely with you, our players, to shape the game into something truly special. We want to focus our energy on the parts you find most fun, rather than guessing what you might enjoy. Your feedback will be our compass as we build this world together.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We're aiming to keep Early Access short and sweet - no more than 6 months.
”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“One of our major goals is to bring multiplayer battles to life. We're not just talking about player vs. player - we're also working on bot AI so you can team up with or face off against computer opponents. Whether you're in the mood for some friendly competition or want to test your strategies against AI, we've got you covered.

But that's not all. We're planning various additions to enhance the core gameplay you'll experience in Early Access. The exact nature of these additions? Well, that's where you come in. We'll be paying close attention to what you, our players, find most fun and engaging. Your feedback will be our guide as we add new features, refine existing ones, and polish the game to a high shine.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“We're excited about where we are right now. The core mechanics of the game are stable and we're really happy with how they've turned out. It's like we've built a solid foundation for a house, and now we're working on making it a home.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We believe in fairness. If you're with us from the start, you shouldn't have to pay more later. The price you see now is the price you'll see at full release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“You're not just players, you're our co-creators. We want to hear your ideas, your critiques, your wildest dreams for the game. We'll be chatting with you on forums, running surveys, and keeping our ears open. Your voice will help guide where we take this game next.”

About This Game

Moons That Belong is a real-time space strategy game about claiming a galaxy and keeping it yours. Expand from your first star system, send fleets along connected routes, and turn a scattered foothold into a realm that can hold its borders. Every new system gives you more room to grow and more ground to defend.

The galaxy may look peaceful from a distance. Look closer and there are reinforcements crossing your territory, rival fleets approaching a narrow passage, and a border that cannot hold forever. Decide where to gather your strength, where to push, and what you can afford to leave behind.

Command table

Hold the line. Choose where to cross it.

A large fleet is only useful if it can reach the fight. Set rally points, keep a reserve at home, and feed reinforcements into the front that needs them. Take direct control when an opening appears: send a reconnaissance mission ahead, raid an exposed system, or commit to a siege. If the attack goes wrong, bring back what you can.

Zoom in to follow a fleet between neighbouring stars, or pull back to see how one battle fits into the wider war. Your next conquest might strengthen the whole realm. It might also leave a very inconvenient hole in your defences.

Hold the line

No two borders are quite the same.

Procedural galaxies give you different routes, neighbours, and places worth fighting over. Their geography can change familiar rules in surprising ways, so a strategy that worked in one part of the map may need rethinking in another. Learn the ground before you decide how to take it.

Play against AI, face other players, or share command with a friend. Fight as allied factions, or control the same faction together and divide the work of running an empire.

Key Features

  • Game modes: Conquer the galaxy in Total Domination, outlast your rivals in Last Light, or fight to hold a key objective in Seat of Power, with more to come.
  • Custom skirmishes: Choose your opponents and shape the match with adjustable rules and map settings.
  • Multiplayer and co-op: Take on other players, team up against AI, or share a faction with friends and work out your strategy together.
  • Front lines and reinforcement: Assign reserves to a threatened border and let reinforcements make their way forward while you concentrate on the next move.
  • Fleet management: Coordinate attacks from several systems at once, redirect your troops, or recall an assault that has gone wrong.
  • Logistics and production: Turn connected systems into a reliable source of troops. Build up production and protect the routes your next offensive depends on.
  • AI opponents: Face opponents with different approaches to expansion, defence, and risk. Learn who you can pressure and who is waiting for you to overextend.
  • Accessibility: Customize the graphics to your liking, change the interface scale, or use colourblind settings.
  • Learn and revisit: Practise in interactive lessons, save a match to continue later, and watch replays of your battles.

And remember: all the moons belong to us!

(Whether we remembered to put any moons in the game is another matter. They still belong to us.)
