Consortium: THE TOWER Early Access ALPHA 1.8 is live - now with AutoTalk

Hello again Seekers,

Consortium: The Tower Early Access ALPHA 1.8 has just been made live. A complete list of the changes made can be found HERE. This update includes a smorgasbord of fixes and updates.

Today's biggest improvement: AutoTalk. The "T" button to bring down talk options is now a thing of the past. Talk options will now automatically present themselves as they become available.

We've also just released a new trailer for The Tower on the store page and on YouTube, please consider sharing with your friends!

To try and keep this update brief but informative, here's a quick bullet point list of important things we want to say:
  • We are zeroing in on finally reaching BETA for Act 1 of Consortium: The Tower. There are still issues to clear and a lot of work to be done, but the goal is clearly visible now.
  • This project is not cancelled. This project will NEVER be cancelled. We are just moving at our own pace to complete it. We deeply appreciate everyone's ongoing patience and support as we slowly but steadily work towards the finish line. :)
  • TO ALL FIG BACKERS READING THIS: Your version of the game will be getting updated very shortly. Also a new Fig update with a big surprise gift for all of you is coming! Watch for this to drop within the next two weeks...
  • We have two BIG surprises in store for all fans of iDGi and Consortium. There is also the previously mentioned secret feature for The Tower still coming. (currently only Fig backers have access to this...)
  • The new version of CONSORTIUM is on it's way to GOG and Humble. Those of you waiting for this, sorry for the delay! Watch for it early next week.

Just a heads up: Other than some new screenshots of in development stuff, we may be going a little dark again for the next few months or so, as we work away in our development caves on a number of things.

In the meantime we hope you enjoy the latest version of our game, and as always please feel free to swing by Discord. to directly interact with us and the iDGi community. We especially always want to know about any game breaking bugs you encounter with ALPHA v1.8!

That's all for now. Until next time, safe interdimensional travels to you all!

Final Source Engine build - 2019 REBALANCE

Greetings Seekers,

We have just pushed the final Source engine build of CONSORTIUM live - v1.26.1 - 2019 REBALANCE. A list of the changes made can be found HERE.

As mentioned below, all combat in the game has been re-balanced to help address some major feedback we've received over the years.

These changes should make for a more entertaining interactive narrative experience. Combat in CONSORTIUM is supposed to essentially be part of the storytelling, but it was too complex, demanding and hard-core before.

Why is this the final build? The answer is simple - we are planning to eventually bring you a fully remastered UE4 version of the game, with additional content and new features.

But in the meantime, this tweaked version of CONSORTIUM should hopefully make it a better companion with Consortium: The Tower. Also of note, an updated trailer is live on the Store page that we think helps conveys the essence of the CONSORTIUM experience.

That's about all for now...

“Consortium is an ingeniously subversive gem, containing enough backstory to fill a Triple-A trilogy while focusing exclusively on an airship crew in distress.”

About This Game

Game One of the iDGi-1 Trilogy.

A murder mystery, on a plane, in the future.

CONSORTIUM is an interactive narrative experience, first and foremost.

The story begins in our world - the "real world" - where we here at Interdimensional Games have developed a satellite (iDGi-1) capable of opening a digital rift through time and space. Anyone with an internet connection can travel through this rift and awaken within an alternate dimension from our own - the "game world" - in the year 2042.

  • The first of a planned trilogy, CONSORTIUM contains a fully resolvable arc entirely aboard Zenlil, it plays like a "bottle episode" of Star Trek with you being part of the cast.
  • Immerse yourself in an interactive story taking place entirely aboard the C-3800-D "ZENLIL" Consortium Command vessel on December 21st, 2042...
  • Built with a modified version of the SOURCE engine, explore ZENLIL, a living and highly interactive environment with complete freedom and agency. Includes turbulence and non-scripted decompression events!
  • Engage with a cast of over 20 people in innovative and life like conversation. Over 4,000 lines of fully voiced dialogue, each choice changes how they think about you. Or choose not to engage with them at all and never speak a word!
  • Experience an all original orchestral score by award winning composer Jeremy Soule
  • Act as detective investigating an on-board murder, while simultaneously playing peacemaker to a large band of mercenaries who seem to want YOU dead. Or play diplomacy with a smoking barrel, and let the tragedies continue to mount.
  • Dive into a world with well over 150,000 words of back-story and lore, where everything you read, see, speak, or hear relates to the story and characters, and everything is there for a reason.
  • A highly original energy based inventory system with original sci-fi weapons, gadgets and armor.
  • The story unfolds based largely on your actions. You may use diplomacy and talk your way through the entire game - never shooting anyone! OR, decide to use deadly or non-lethal force.
  • Forge lasting relationships with the crew of ZENLIL, and alter the course of the story through your actions. Your choices will change your play experience, and subsequent playthroughs offer the chance to make different decisions and see all new outcomes.
  • Regardless of what you choose to do or not, the experience always moves forward, adapting seamlessly to YOU.

System Requirements

    Minimum:
    • OS: Windows Vista/7/8 32bit (NO XP SUPPORT)
    • Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo 2.5GHz, AMD Athlon X2 64 2.7GHz
    • Memory: 4 GB RAM
    • Graphics: NVIDIA GTX 260 | AMD Radeon HD 4890 series
    • DirectX: Version 9.0c
    • Storage: 7 GB available space
    • Additional Notes: Of the maximum 4GB of addressable memory space on a 32-bit system (2 ^ 32 = 4,294,967,296 bytes = 4GB), Windows reserves 2GB. This leaves any application (such as Consortium) with a maximum of 2GB to play with. During loading, Consortium can allocate up to 1.8GB worth of memory. If you are running Consortium with a 32 bit machine, be sure to close as many other simultaneously running programs as you can, otherwise "out of memory" crashes may occur.
    Recommended:
    • OS: Windows 7/8 x64
    • Processor: Intel i3 2100T | AMD Phenom II x4 or higher
    • Memory: 4 GB RAM
    • Graphics: NVIDIA GTX 460 | AMD Radeon HD 5830 series or higher
    • DirectX: Version 9.0c
    • Storage: 7 GB available space
