A first-person game with a focus on dialogue and historical accuracy, set in the Victorian Era. You will step into the shoes of a photographer with a stern mustache who specializes in post-mortem photography. The game is emotionally heavy, melancholic, and full of skeletons in the closet.

About This Game

About the game

The Victorian era was full of death, and this game is no exception. The game primarily focuses on dialogue, the sorrow of losing loved ones, death, historical accuracy, and interesting facts about the Victorian era, or at least it tries to. In this game, you have the freedom to choose what you want to do. You can either sternly and grimly focus on your work, or take the time to explore the protagonist’s backstory.

The Story

The story of this game will immerse you in the Victorian era, specifically in the field of post-mortem photography. You are a photographer who comes from Ukraine to London to begin work as a post-mortem photographer. You will mostly witness the photographer’s later years, but you will also capture his early years when you first open your photographic studio. In your later years, you have become cold, harsh, and demanding, you are famous only for your work. People know that you are a master of your craft and have been practicing post-mortem photography for quite a long time, but there is not a single person who would speak well of you as a person. This story is mainly about a harsh and difficult man, the game does not necessarily focus on post-mortem photography, who knows what you will learn about the photographer.
Memento mori - remember you must die.

Your task is to photograph the deceased. Correspond and exchange experience with such renowned photographers as Vasily Sergeyevich Dosekin, A. M. Ivanitsky, Oscar Gustave Rejlander, and other photographers of that era. From the mid-19th century to the late Victorian era, you will be managing your photo studio. Of course, maintaining it is not mandatory (the main character may well end up becoming the subject of his own work after such a turn of events), any of us can suddenly change the course of our career, and it’s entirely up to you what you choose to do.

You will help families obtain the only photograph they’ll have of their deceased loved one. You’ll also have access to tools that will assist you in your work. Should you photograph the deceased sitting in a chair? Or perhaps place an object they loved in life on their lap? Well, the choice is yours, you decide how to photograph the departed.
