Why Early Access?

“Soulash 2 is a massive and complex project born from my lifelong passion for gaming. I’ve rebuilt the first game from the ground up with new design fundamentals: massive scale, sandbox features, and procedural content, so players can experience the game their way and forge their own stories within the world’s constraints.

Developing Soulash alongside player feedback has worked so well during the first game's Early Access that I want to stay close to fans and incorporate their dreams into what I have envisioned for the game.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“The stable 1.0 release is planned for Q1 2027.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“During Early Access, the main focus has been building the core sandbox systems: RPG adventures, settlement management, conquest mechanics, and a living world. We've already incorporated all of that into the game.

The full 1.0 version will introduce a story and ending incorporated into the world history simulation, continuing the narrative from the first Soulash and adding potential victory conditions for players to pursue.

This story will be optional, allowing players who prefer a pure sandbox experience to continue playing without engaging with it.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current version offers a broad sandbox experience built on several core pillars: adventuring and exploration, crafting and building, settlement management, trade and economy, and warfare and conquest. It also features procedural world generation and a settlement-focused history simulation.

Beyond the story and the potential added depth of some existing systems, we already implemented what we planned for our Early Access roadmap at the start of Early Access.

While Steam Workshop modding support is already available with extensive in-game tools, we plan to expand modding in the near future, giving players even more ways to shape experiences in the game.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price may increase as the game grows.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I'm active on the game’s Discord channel to discuss the game, receive feedback, and help with issues. We also monitor the Steam Community to understand how players feel about different parts of the game, though we try to avoid joining conversations unless needed, so players have a place to share their opinions more freely.

We believe in honest and open communication. Soulash 2 is a niche game built with limited resources. We can’t promise to develop the game indefinitely after the full release, but we are committed to supporting it throughout Early Access and will continue post-launch development as resources and player interest allow.

Explore a vast fantasy world, face powerful creatures, craft artifacts that will remain as a legacy after your death, amass a fortune as a merchant or thief, feed the starving populace as a farmer, or build a monumental pyramid amid the desert sands.

A Living World

The dynamic world of Soulash 2 is inhabited by numerous civilizations, ranging from traditional elves, gnomes, dwarves, and various green-skinned races to cat-people known as rasimi, mushmen, and ursans.

Diverse biomes hide dangers and treasures. You can trade, build, and conquer.

In the background, an extensive simulation of history, resource extraction, and production runs its course as civilizations rise, grow, and fall, before your character takes their first step and throughout your journeys.
