What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We are committed to creating the ultimate competitive tactical shooter. Our team is comprised of seasoned gamers who have played in this genre for over twenty years, so we know exactly what players expect from a strictly PvP tactical shooter. However, we also understand that the community's opinions are crucial in shaping Method Of Entry into a unique experience that has been missing from the gaming industry over the last decade. That's why we are dedicated to listening to feedback and ideas from our customers to make the necessary changes and improvements before the official launch.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“The Early Access phase for Method of Entry will last approximately 24 to 36 months. We understand the value of feedback from our community, and we aim to incorporate it to make necessary improvements before the official launch. While we had initially planned to release the game without an Early Access phase, we value the opportunity to make changes for the better and ensure that we deliver the best possible experience.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Right now the plan is to make the full version of Method of Entry a more polished experience compared to the Early Access phase. Additionally, we plan for the full version to include new content such as maps, weapons, game modes and utilities which are currently being worked on.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“We plan to release Method of Entry into Early Access with the following features at minimum:
- attack and defend bomb defusal mode
- 2 factions
- 10 firearms
- weapon attachments: grips, optics, muzzle adapters, furniture, etc.
- utilities including flashbangs, stinger grenades, C4, door traps, C2 charges
- 5 maps”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes, Method Of Entry will be priced differently during and after early access. We intend to offer the game at a reduced price as a "thank you" for those who support the game's development before its official launch. This pricing strategy reflects our commitment to delivering a comprehensive and satisfying gaming experience while gathering feedback from the community to make necessary improvements.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We're looking forward to involving the community in our development process and taking their input into account to enhance the overall game experience. Our team is committed to engaging with players directly through our Discord server, actively soliciting feedback, and incorporating player concerns into the game as appropriate. Additionally, we will be looking into any bugs reported by the community and releasing patches as quickly as possible. We welcome you to join our Discord server and become part of this community that helps us grow the game further.”

About This Game

Method of Entry is a slow-paced 5v5 tactical shooter built on the foundational principles of classic tactical shooters. We're committed to delivering an authentic infantry-focused experience where raw skill dictates success and every shot truly counts. Blending realistic mechanics with tense, calculated competitive gameplay, it's the true tactical shooter experience, reborn.

At the heart of Method of Entry is the C.F.R.F. (Competitive First, Realism Follows) philosophy. This guiding principle ensures that every game mechanic and design decision prioritizes competitive integrity while incorporating realism in a way that enhances, rather than hinders, gameplay. This approach sets Method of Entry apart, whilst drawing inspiration from classic titles like the original SWAT and Rainbow Six series, Counter-Strike, and modern hits such as Escape from Tarkov and R6 Siege, establishing a unique blend.

Method of Entry blends core mechanics with immersive realism, crafted for dedicated players seeking a compelling combat environment. Our goal is to set a new standard in competitive shooters, balancing precision, strategy, and authenticity. We ditch flashy hero abilities, arcade-like killstreaks, and unrealistic environments for a grounded, tactical approach where precision and strategy truly matter.

As a team of lifelong gamers who love this genre, we're dedicated to the small things that improve your experience and make you want to play again and again. Our commitment includes realistic movement and features, meticulously crafted alongside carefully made animations true to real-world situations and custom-built environments. These are all designed for truly unique tactical challenges across every map, ensuring a deeply competitive experience.

Community is at the core of Method of Entry. While our vision guides development, we believe Method of Entry truly belongs to you, the players. Our entire dev team consists of gamers first, just like you, and every decision is shaped by that shared experience. We're committed to actively seeking and using your feedback. Find us directly on our Discord – your voice will always be heard and valued as Method of Entry evolves.

Your trust is key. Once you own Method of Entry, you unlock the entire core experience upfront. This means all maps, weapons, and game modes are included, with no additional costs ever needed to access fundamental gameplay. While we may look to monetize through purely cosmetic items like skins, weapon camos, and unique player customization options to support development, you'll have full access to all core gameplay content. No exceptions.

'Lights Out'

Method of Entry introduces 'Lights Out,' a unique death mechanic found exclusively in our game, designed to enhance realism and competitive play.

When your operator takes a fatal hit anywhere but the head, you'll experience a standard death animation, with your vision and some sound lingering for a few seconds before fading, offering limited information to your team.

However, a fatal headshot triggers 'Lights Out': an instant black screen with no sound or no vision. This abrupt disorienting effect not only adds to the realism of taking a fatal hit but also removes your ability to communicate effectively, denying crucial intelligence about the enemy team. It's a key tactical advantage that incentivizes precision and drastically changes the round's dynamic.

5v5 Bomb Defusal

Engage in our core 5v5 Bomb Defusal mode, where strategy begins before the first shot. Defenders strategically choose their bomb site, forcing attackers to adapt and select their entry points accordingly. Attackers secure victory by eliminating the defending team or successfully defusing the bomb within the round's time limit. Defenders win by neutralizing all attackers or by successfully protecting their chosen bomb site until time expires. Success hinges on precise execution, intelligent utility use, and seamless team communication, creating diverse tactical engagements across every intricately designed map.

Specialized Roles & Tactical Arsenal

Build your team with strategic Specializations. Method of Entry features four distinct roles: Rifleman, Pointman, Marksman, and Tactician. Each specialization unlocks a specific portion of our diverse arsenal, including pistols, SMGs, assault rifles, DMRs, and shotguns. This system isn't just for realism; it demands genuine tactical team planning, preventing homogenous loadouts and ensuring balanced, dynamic engagements. Teams are strategically limited to two of each specialization, with Marksmen capped at one, ensuring thoughtful composition.

Beyond individual firearms, a comprehensive suite of tactical utilities provides crucial strategic depth. Deploy flashbangs, smoke, and stinger grenades for area control; use breaching charges for dynamic entry; or strategically employ unique tools like shotgun booby traps, door jammers, and corrosive acid bottles to defend key areas and deny enemy pushes. Expect even more tactical gear in future updates, continuously expanding your strategic possibilities.

"The Black Talon Group (BTG) originated from U.S. military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, initially operating as a covert special operations unit known as "Project Talon." Comprised of elite Special Forces and ex-CIA operatives, the group specialized in counter-terrorism, intelligence gathering, and high-risk extractions. In 2011, as military priorities shifted, BTG transitioned into the private sector, quickly rising as a premier PMC contracted by NATO and allied nations. Expanding into North Africa and Eastern Europe, they became known for their expertise in asymmetric warfare, cyber operations, and counter-insurgency. Today, as a growing ideological threat destabilizes the modern world through terror and propaganda, BTG has been tasked with eliminating this menace. Operating in the shadows with ruthless efficiency, they have become an indispensable force in the fight to preserve global stability—loyal only to their contracts but feared by those who stand in their way."

"The Collapse emerged as a shadowy extremist movement, exploiting the dark web and social media to spread their ideology and recruit disillusioned individuals worldwide. Their origins trace back to a secretive network of radical intellectuals, rogue operatives, and cyber-warriors who believe modern society is a corrupt, unnatural construct that must be dismantled. Using encrypted platforms and misinformation campaigns, they operate as a decentralized force, manipulating global instability to fuel their cause. Though their leadership remains unknown, their influence has grown at an alarming rate, with cells conducting cyberattacks, sabotage, and acts of terror to accelerate the downfall of civilization. With no clear demands beyond the complete collapse of the modern world, they have become an existential threat—one that NATO has turned to Black Talon Group to neutralize before society crumbles beyond repair."
