What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We are releasing Red Door Yellow Door in Early Access to present the core idea at an early stage and involve the community from the beginning. The current version provides a solid gameplay foundation but is not yet finalized in terms of visuals and sound design.

Our goal is to make this foundation accessible to as many players as possible and gather focused feedback on gameplay, mechanics, difficulty, and atmosphere.

We evaluate this feedback carefully and compare it with our original vision to ensure that future developments both align with the core concept and meaningfully improve the player experience.

Communication takes place exclusively through our Discord server, where we actively collect feedback, discuss ideas, and involve the community in development decisions.

We are a small team of three developers and intentionally seek early external input to gain new perspectives and guide the game’s development in a focused and informed way.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We expect it to take a maximum of one year. After that, we would like to consider the game 'completed' as a result of our collaborative effort with the community.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The current Early Access version focuses on the core gameplay loop: exploring procedurally generated environments, completing tasks, and avoiding entities.

During development, we aim to expand this foundation with improvements to visuals and sound design, as well as additional gameplay variations, tasks, and more diverse level generation. Entity behavior and overall game systems may also be further developed and refined.

We will continue to iterate on balance, pacing, and player feedback based on community input. The intention is to evolve the game into a more polished and varied experience while staying true to its core concept.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Basic functions are implemented, the game is stable on the tested systems, and players can test all key features and complete the game.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes. We plan to gradually increase the price during Early Access as new content, systems, and improvements are added.

Players who support the game early will be able to purchase it at a lower price, while the price will adjust over time to reflect the growing scope and quality of the experience.

The goal is for the final price to match the overall content and level of polish of the full version.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We actively involve the community through our Discord server, where we gather focused feedback on gameplay, mechanics, difficulty, and atmosphere, and discuss ideas directly with players.

This feedback is regularly evaluated and compared with our original vision to guide decisions on adjustments and future content.”
