About This Game

The sand beneath your feet sinks as you fall into the dark depths below... Tomb of Dread is experimental, surreal, and unexplainable. The greatest fear is the fear of the unknown. And it surrounds you at every step.

Darkness falls, and your vision starts to blur. You look at your EKG and see your heart racing. You suddenly hear it beating louder, signaling there's a presence nearby. Is it real? Or is your mind playing tricks on you?

Monster hallucinations are not pre-scripted in this game. They happen dynamically as your sanity deteriorates. Suddenly you've found yourself in a new area even though you weren't near a door. Is it because you executed a glitch some strange creature recommended? You have done something forbidden even if you didn't realize it.

As you play, your expectations will be tested time and time again. Why is there a new monster in an area previously empty? Do they transition between levels? What system controls the spreading darkness? Is it perhaps my character's sanity or the environment changing? Why does it seem like the game wants me to break it? Do I want to break it?

And finally, the question of the ultimate unknown. What happens when we are laid to rest inside the Tomb of Dread.
