About This Game

On Tape << Rewind is a psychological horror game where you solve a mystery through cassette tapes.

You arrive at Fred Karlsen's isolated cabin. The physicist has vanished, leaving behind scattered tapes and one fragmented message. His voice crackles through static, unravelling and afraid.

The message is a warning. Something is out there.

  • Play back tapes on a dusty cassette recorder.

  • Search the cabin for clues.

  • Manipulate audio frequencies to reveal hidden messages.

  • Each discovery points you toward the next tape.

Each recording is a piece of the puzzle. Cold War research logs. An old news broadcast. Medical journals. Experimental music. Static noise. And amidst everything - an unfinished letter to an old friend.

Tape by tape, the truth emerges. You uncover Fred's growing fear and obsession with something he found in the recordings - something that listened back. You follow the same trail, rewinding through the fragments of his life.

What happened to Fred? Why was he alone out here? And what is waiting in the static?
