About This Game

99 Fails is a 2D open world RPG & Metroidvania set in Zeebo's surreal, recurring nightmare wherein he faces horrific monsters and his body painfully morphs, to music by legendary David Wise, set in an entirely new fantasy universe called Neebota.

Zeebo and his friends are fascinated by portals to our very own earth that have started to appear on Neebota. Right as Zeebo & friends get invested in chasing these portals down, Zeebo's parents die in a car accident with Zeebo as the only survivor. Devasted, Zeebo starts having terrible nightmares wherein his body is morphing and where he faces fiendishly difficult challenges he just can't seem to quite overcome. Is his mind trying to tell him something?

  • Discover an open story-rich 2D world where you get to unlock all Zeebo's morphs, offering new abilities, such as ramming through walls or moving objects with your mind!

  • Level up your character as well as abilities, to improve speed, strength, reach and power, to overcome ever-bigger challenges.

  • Equip totems for special additions to your gameplay to unlock even more of Zeebo's twisted mental world and see it through new lenses.

  • Explore an interconnected dreamworld spanning many zones and areas you can explore at your leisure, forging your own path, with only your ability and skill that can stop you.

  • Face over a 100 extremely bizarre and fantastical entities, monsters and bosses for you to beat and keep track of in your dream journal, some which downright horrific and shocking.

  • Dive into an original and deep story, conversing with NPCs with rich backstories both in Zeebo's waking world as well as his messed up dreamworld.

  • Piece together Zeebo's story as you collect the mental hints tucked away in his dreamworld, and discover an expansive mapping of Zeebo's mind.

  • Beat adventure mode and unlock adventure+ mode, the ultimate singleplayer challenge 99 Fails has to offer.

  • Enjoy a hauntingly beautiful soundtrack by David Wise that will stay with you long after you stopped playing, like beautiful, melodic "Stickerbush Symphony" or the dark and moody "Mining Melancholy".

  • Try your hand at specific challenges, different rule sets and the toughest of set ups to conquer and beat your high score.

  • Where it's dashing over pillars, wall jumping, or hitting targets Smash Brothers style, arcade mode will keep you busy long after completing adventure mode!

  • Beat friends & foes in PVP arcade online in frantic races in any arcade challenge, with global leaderboards.

  • Face the ultimate challenge in endless arcade playthrough with endless players, where you win fame and glory by being in the top 3 during checkpoint events.

Neebota is inhabited by beings who undergo many of the same emotions and experiences we humans do: hope, joy, loss, dreams, curiosity, and overcoming the self. The dreamworld of Neebotians is called Noobota. It's developed by indie studio Frying Jelly, with an aim to establish  new and exciting IP with n original fantasy world you can get lost in!
