Pescadero Medical Center is officially empty, but you're still here. Ten floors stand between you and the exit, and on each one you decide if anything is off. Meanwhile, MPS is learning to move like you, remember like you, and sound like you. Do not trust what you see.

What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Discharge Pending is built around observation, tension and replayability.
Early Access gives us the opportunity to improve the game together with the community, especially when it comes to anomaly variety, balancing, pacing and overall atmosphere.

Player feedback is extremely valuable for finding out which moments work, which ones do not, and where the experience can still be improved.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We currently expect Discharge Pending to remain in Early Access for roughly 6 to 12 months.

The exact duration will depend on player feedback and how development progresses.
If we need more time to properly finish and polish the game, we will keep the community informed about any changes to this estimate.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“During Early Access, we plan to expand and refine the core experience.
This may include additional anomalies, more variation between runs, improvements to existing encounters, balancing, audio and visual polish, optimization and further development of the game's story and hospital environment.

The scope of these changes may evolve based on player feedback during Early Access.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version contains the core gameplay loop of Discharge Pending.
Players explore a hospital environment, memorize their surroundings, identify anomalies and make the correct decision to progress.

Runs feature different combinations of anomalies, including visual, environmental and audio-based events.
The main gameplay systems, progression loop and core horror experience are already playable, while balancing, content variety and overall polish will continue to improve during Early Access.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We currently plan to keep the Early Access price lower while the game is still being expanded and refined.
The price may increase when Discharge Pending leaves Early Access, depending on the amount of additional content and improvements made during development.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Player feedback will be an important part of Early Access.
We plan to collect feedback through Steam Discussions, the Discharge Pending Discord community and direct bug reports.

Feedback about anomaly balancing, difficulty, pacing, performance and the overall horror experience will help guide development.
Not every suggestion will necessarily make it into the game, but we want the community to have a real influence on how Discharge Pending develops.”

About This Game

Mimetic Perception Syndrome has been declared a national health emergency, and no one can say where it comes from.
Those who contract it see and hear things that no one else can perceive.

In its late stages, MPS no longer stops at perception.
It begins to imitate the patient, from the way they move to the things they remember, right down to the sound of their voice.

When you come to at Pescadero Medical Center, the last transport is long gone and the ward is dead silent.
Ten floors, two elevators, and nothing you see can be relied on.

• A Game That Adapts to You
Difficulty, pacing, and tension respond to how you play, and seeing through the hospital does not mean you are any match for it.

• No Two Runs Are Alike
Anomalies, their variants, and even the floors where nothing is wrong are reshuffled with every run.
Memorizing the ward will not save you, and neither will a guide.

• Your Eyes Are Not Enough
What you hear matters just as much as what you see, and sometimes it is the silence that gives a floor away.

• Your Voice Can Come Back
With the microphone feature, your own voice becomes part of the horror, though not necessarily the way you remember it.

• Your Twitch Chat Plays Along
With Twitch integration, your viewers bet on every decision you make, and some of them end up in the hospital themselves.

• Play Your Way
Play with mouse and keyboard or with a controller.
A headset is strongly recommended.

Not every anomaly jumps out at you.

Some do exactly that, while others change the familiar just enough to make you start doubting yourself.
Maybe it is a sound from an empty room, a movement at the edge of your vision, or a voice that sounds strikingly like your own.

Maybe it is gone the moment you look again, and maybe it was never there.
Or maybe it has known for quite a while now that you noticed it.

Do not trust what you see.
