What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“As this is our first game we want to work with our community and implement the feedback we get. We believe that this dialogue will help us create the best possible version of our game.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We think that one at least one year is needed to gather and implement all the feedback we get from you, however we are small development team working in our free time and it's hard to give you a timeline without creating false hopes.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to include more levels, storytelling and player feedback will be implemented. The game will also be more polished. Current game only has one level and most of the game mechanics in place. With your help we would like to finish the game.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“We currently have one level showcasing our storytelling and game mechanics.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The game will be discounted during the early access by 50%.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“The community and its feedback are the reason why we're doing early access. We will listen to every commentary - good or bad.”

About This Game

They say the truth shall set you free… but what if your truth is the only thing keeping you from uncovering the dark?

Akolyta is a story-driven, first-person psychological horror adventure set in the decaying industrial city of Gorenwille — a place where faith, science, and human desperation collide.

You play as Marshall Gregory Prime, a detective pulled back into a world he tried to escape when a string of ritualistic murders begins to mirror the case that once destroyed his life. The deeper you investigate, the clearer it becomes: the killings are not isolated. They are the work of a growing cult — and the rot runs all the way back to the darkest secrets of the Cold War.

As you close in on the truth, you'll face the worst products of the MK Ultra program and a far more intimate enemy: your own deteriorating mind. Health does not regenerate. Ammunition is scarce. Some places will offer you no weapon at all — only your wits, your flashlight, and the courage to keep walking into the dark.

Akolyta is built around an honest, unflinching representation of mental health, and it is being crafted episodically by the indie team at Pterosoft Studio.

INVESTIGATE

  • Case Board — Collect physical evidence and witness testimony, then map them onto your Case Board. Connect disparate clues to trigger Deductions: logical breakthroughs that unlock dialogue, pinpoint suspects, and earn arrest warrants.

  • Breadcrumbs — Police ledgers, discarded correspondence, witness statements, and dictation recordings. Subtle inflection and background noise corroborate timelines. Miss one note and a critical gap opens in your deduction.

  • Multiple Conclusions — Investigations rarely point to a single answer. How you read the evidence shapes what you believe — and what you become.

SURVIVE

  • Manage a flashlight with finite battery life — explore, or stay in the dark.

  • Wield a firearm for self-defense and certain situations, but treat every bullet as precious. Sometimes the gun simply won't be there.

  • Restore health only through kits found in the world. Every encounter is potentially fatal.

GROW

  • Three Trees — Earn XP through field work and exploration, then invest across Physical Conditioning, Investigative Gear, and Environmental Traversal & Perception to master the mean streets of Gorenwille.

FEATURES

  • First-person psychological horror adventure

  • Single-player, story-driven experience

  • Non-linear story and levels

  • A gritty narrative inspired by real-life events

  • A story centered on mental health

  • Released episodically

Be ready… to lose… everything.
