What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Early access is the perfect way for us to engage with the Steam Community and extend Tumblefire through their feedback in our forums and in their reviews.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Tumblefire will be in early access until January, 2024.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The scale of the full version of Tumblefire will be much larger.

We have several towns planned as well as deep enhancements to physics interaction and AI integration.

These enhancements, and the feedback from the community as we iterate on them, are key to making Tumblefire a compelling and replayable old west heist simulation that you can sink a hundred plus hours into.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current state of the early access version is a vertical slice of gameplay.

You can complete the entire heist in the first town and receive your ranking against every other player.

The full tool set and set of possible heists is still in progress.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes, we will be increasing the price once Tumblefire exits early access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We're engaging with the community here on Steam and in Discord so you can see active development progress and prioritization and even leave comments and vote on your favorite issues.

We're also active on Twitter and in responding to reviews and integrating that feedback into our public Trello board.”

About This Game

Welcome to a Wild West where every town is different, every heist is chaos, and fire changes everything.

Plan your robbery in procedurally generated frontier towns where three warring factions create constant opportunity for the clever outlaw.

Choose Your Approach

Ghost Through the Shadows

  • Complete heists without anyone knowing you were there

  • Exploit faction conflicts while they're distracted

  • Time your moves to patrol patterns and shootouts

Burn It All Down

  • Advanced fire physics that spread realistically through wooden buildings

  • Use arson as distraction, weapon, or pure chaos

  • Watch structures collapse as flames consume the town

Opportunistic Outlaw

  • Rob the bank during a sheriff-bandit shootout

  • Frame competing factions for your crimes

  • Turn minor disputes into full-scale wars for cover

Your Way

  • Mix stealth, fire, and faction manipulation as situations demand

  • Adapt to emergent scenarios created by AI conflicts

  • Experiment with physics and fire systems for creative solutions

Living, Burning World

Three-Faction AI System

  • Sheriff's Department (Blue) - Law enforcement with predictable patrols

  • Dynamic lighting and destruction as flames consume the town

  • LOD system maintains performance during massive conflagrations

Fully Procedural Towns

  • Every town layout is unique and generated fresh each mission

  • Banks, saloons, sheriff offices, churches, and homes placed algorithmically

  • Faction spawns tied to building types and town size

  • No two heists play the same
