Why Early Access?

“Early Access will allow us to complete development on the final set of features for KONSUI FIGHTER alongside the community, helping to dial in the game's balance and functionality to ensure we have the best possible version of the game available upon full release.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“KONSUI FIGHTER will remain in Early Access until we have completed the implementation of the remaining features needed for release. We believe in ensuring the vision of the game's final planned feature set is fully realized before we promote the game out of Early Access. We also recognize the importance of getting feedback from our community to help shape the final product together as we work to complete the final stages of development.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We have a specific subset of remaining features to take us from Early Access to full release:

  • Playtesting and Balancing - With support from the community, we will continue to refine the balance of our fighters, game mechanics, and CPU fighters.
  • Kon - Our tenth and final fighter, Kon, will be have his remaining content completed and will be implemented into the game.
  • Story Mode - The remaining chapters of Story Mode will be completed and implemented into the game.
  • Online Improvements - With the aid of the community, additional improvements to the online gameplay will be iterated upon, and additional features such as in-game friends and block list support will be added.
  • Expanded Training - Beyond the core guided training modules, each of the ten playable characters will have a dedicated training module made available. Additionally, Free Training mode will be expanded with CPU fighter control options, and additional options to expose metrics and frame information for more detailed practice sessions.
  • Final Quality Improvements - Several asset quality enhancements will be incorporated that will improve different aspects of the final product. From the incorporation of character sound effects, final audio mastering passes, updates to character sprite palletization and more - the Circean Studios team will implement several final polishing touches to ensure the final release version of KONSUI FIGHTER adheres to our high standards for the game's quality.

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Currently, Early Access contains the following key features:

  • Eight Playable Characters - Eight of the ten final characters are currently available for players to utilize, with the final two planned to be added during the Early Access cycle.
  • Arcade Mode - Work your way through a classic arcade stack of fighters in Arcade Mode.
  • Versus Mode - Fight against a friend either in local or online versus play, supporting full rollback netcode to ensure a seamless experience. Or, test your mettle against the innovative new FORESCORE AI fighters in CPU versus mode.
  • Story Mode - Play through the first two chapters of KONSUI FIGHTER's Story Mode, and begin to unravel the mystery of Ayumu's past.
  • Training Mode - Play through the four guided training modules to learn the mechanics of KONSUI FIGHTER, or, hop into Free Training mode to practice your skills and discover new combos to take down your foes!
  • Cross-Platform Support - Enjoy KONSUI FIGHTER on a wide range of devices, with support for Windows, macOS, Linux, and native Steam Deck support. Enjoy cross-platform multiplayer support across these and the mobile editions of KONSUI FIGHTER!

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“There are a number of ways the community can engage with us as we work through our final development in Early Access:

  • Experimental Channel - We will launch an Experimental Channel to the public where we will regularly provide preview builds as new experimental features, balancing adjustments, and new content are added for the community to explore and provide feedback on.

About This Game

Inspired by classic fighters from the '90s, KONSUI FIGHTER is a hand-drawn fighting game that puts you in control of ten unique fighters, each representing an aspect of Ayumu's personality as he struggles to wake from a deep coma. Featuring an original story as well as classic arcade, versus, and training modes, KONSUI FIGHTER provides a variety of ways to put your skills to the test!

A FORMIDABLE FOE

Utilizing the power of Circean Studios' own Aeaea Engine, KONSUI FIGHTER debuts with the groundbreaking FORESCORE AI system. CPU fighters will look into the future, forecasting and scoring the predicted outcome of the various actions they can take, enabling them to quickly defend against - or take advantage of your unique fighting style.

THE TOURNAMENT OF THE MIND BEGINS

Trapped within a deep coma, professor Ayumu Tsuburaya struggles to regain his memory of the events that led to his condition. Searching his inner mind, the characters that make up the fabric of his personality emerge, thrust into conflict as their world falls into ruin by an unseen force. Will Ayumu's mind regain order, or will it remain forever lost in chaos?

KONSUI FIGHTER features an original story across nine chapters, each depicted with beautiful hand-drawn illustrations. Learn the secrets of Ayumu's past and take control of each character as they stuggle to save their world from destruction in KONSUI FIGHTER's story mode!
