What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“As a new studio, our first priority is releasing a solid game. Ghost Network is a systems-heavy simulation with a lot of moving parts — real Python execution, 26 interconnected apps, live crew infiltration, heat and escalation systems — so we're expecting edge cases and bugs that only surface once real players start pushing things in ways we can't predict. Early Access gives us the runway to catch those issues, get direct player feedback, and ship a polished 1.0 that lives up to what this game is trying to be. We're launching in Early Access because the multiplayer roadmap — apartment raids, ranked 1v1 duels, 4-player FFA, 2v2 team modes, worm races, bounty hunts, and 5v5 guild wars — is built on our proprietary QMT peer-to-peer networking and needs real player load testing, balance feedback, and community input to get right. We'd rather build multiplayer with the community than guess in a vacuum..”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“8–16 months. The single-player game ships complete at launch. The Early Access period is focused on rolling out multiplayer updates (v1.1 through v1.4), balance tuning based on player feedback, and community-requested features. We have a clear 4-phase multiplayer roadmap and are targeting full release within 12 months, though we'd rather take the time to get it right than rush to hit a date.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full release aims to add multiplayer modes, including player-vs-player apartment raids, ranked duels, team-based competitive modes, guild territory wars, and a player-driven darknet marketplace with seasonal rankings and world events. The single-player experience shipping at Early Access launch is the complete game — multiplayer is a future goal we're actively working toward.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The full single-player game is playable from start to finish:

65 story missions across 18 corporations with a complete narrative arc
Fully simulated desktop OS (GhostOS) with 26 functional applications
Real Python terminal with 70+ hackable commands
Visual node editor for non-coders
185 hackable device types across 12 categories
11 handcrafted Live Hack missions with real-time crew infiltrations + infinite procedural missions
5 crews with unique personalities, dialogue, and patience systems
4 network topologies (Flat, Segmented, Multi-Zone, Air-Gapped)
18 corporations with adaptive defense AI
45 skills across 3 trees, 15 tiers of hardware upgrades, 15 apartment tiers
8 fixers with reputation systems
Full save/load, settings, and progression systems

What's coming during Early Access: multiplayer PVP modes, apartment raids, guild wars, ranked competitive, darknet marketplace, and world events.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price will increase as more content is added toward full release. Players who buy during Early Access get the complete game and all future updates at no additional cost.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Discord is the hub. We run a dedicated Discord server where players can report bugs, suggest features, vote on multiplayer balance changes, and share Python scripts and strategies. Multiplayer mode priorities and balance tuning will be directly influenced by community feedback and polling.”

Future DLC Content

The Story Isn't Over

Ghost Network: Dark Hacker is the first chapter. Two major story expansions are coming.

DLC 1 — RETURN OF THE DARK HACKER

You exposed Obsidian Corp. You thought that was the end. It wasn't. The power vacuum is tearing Neo-Tokyo apart, and someone from your past has unfinished business. 30+ new story missions. 4 new corporations. 2 new fixers. New equipment tiers, network topologies, a brand new defensive mission type, and a three-way ending that permanently reshapes the city.

DLC 2 — PROMETHEUS

The world is bigger than Neo-Tokyo. 30+ new story missions. 3 new factions. Hack networks across the globe. The hardest content in the game. A definitive ending to the Ghost Network saga — no sequel hooks, no cliffhangers. The story that started with import ghostnet as gn ends here.

120+ total story missions across the full saga. 25 corporations. 11 fixers. One hacker who started with nothing.

About This Game

You wake up in a shitty apartment in Neo-Tokyo with a stolen computer and a blinking cursor. No hand-holding. Just a desktop OS with 26 apps and a world full of targets. What you do next is up to you.

Ghost Network: Dark Hacker is a cyberpunk hacking simulation built around GhostOS — a fully simulated desktop operating system. Every hack, every mission, every piece of intel flows through apps on your screen. You're not pressing "HACK" buttons. You're writing code.

WRITE REAL CODE. HACK REAL NETWORKS.

The terminal runs real Python. Import the GhostNet API, scan networks, exploit vulnerabilities, download stolen data, and cover your tracks. Save your scripts, build a toolkit, automate your attacks. Or use the visual node editor — drag, connect, run. 70+ commands. 185 hackable device types. Every hack has real consequences.

Disable a camera and the security feed goes dark. Kill the power grid and an entire building wing blacks out. Loop a camera feed and your crew walks past undetected. Hack a guard's neural implant and they stand confused while your team slips by. Disable a ventilator and someone dies — mission over, that's on you.

LIVE HACK — SUPPORT GROUND CREWS IN REAL TIME

Some jobs aren't remote. A crew breaches the building while you hack from your apartment. Green dots on a 2D facility map — that's your team. Red dots — guards. The crew radios in: "Door's locked, Ghost. Handle it." You crack it in Terminal. The door goes green. They move.

5 crews with distinct personalities and patience limits. Take too long and the breacher kicks the door down. Guards with patrol routes, detection zones, and escalating aggression. 11 handcrafted story facilities. Every device you hack in Terminal changes the facility in real-time.

265+ MISSIONS. 18 CORPORATIONS. ONE CONSPIRACY.

Steal a game build from a media company. Sabotage a chip fabrication line. Extract a journalist before a megacorp remote-disables her implants. Broadcast stolen evidence to every screen in Neo-Tokyo.

65 story missions — including 17 guided tutorial missions that teach you to hack from scratch. 100+ fixer missions from 8 underground contacts who reward loyalty with harder jobs and bigger payouts. 100+ job board missions — standalone contracts ranging from quick data grabs to full-scale network infiltrations, each with handcrafted networks, unique targets, and escalating difficulty.

18 corporations — each with unique networks, defenses, and secrets. A hidden thread connects them all: Obsidian Corp, the shadow behind every corporation in the city. Piece it together from stolen files, encrypted emails, and data buried deep in classified servers.

8 fixers. Build rep. Get better jobs. The deeper you go, the harder they fight back — adaptive defense AI that learns your patterns, honeypots, Black ICE, counter-hackers tracing your connection. Silent at first. Lethal by the end.

BUILD YOUR RIG. UPGRADE YOUR LIFE.

15 tiers of hardware. Start with a crappy desktop that lags on every command. End with a rig that executes instantly. 15 apartment tiers from a rat-infested studio to a penthouse fortress. 45 skills across Hacking, Stealth, and Engineering. Exploits, malware, VPNs, and zero-days from the black market.
