Why Early Access?

“In order to establish a close connection with our player community we decided to release in early access; this allows us to receive feedback and player input while the game is still full-on in development.

Early access will allow us to add more to the game and cater to the wishes of our player. We want to make Maze'Em the a-maze-ing game it deserves to be.

We already have a bunch of ideas for further development and can't wait to get your input on the game. The game will only get better with your feedback and help.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We don't want to drag out the development of Maze'Em unnecessarily, but continue to work towards the mid to late 2022 target for the full release.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The core mechanics are fully functional for Maze'Em. The current version features a fully working multiplayer and single player experience.

We have a long list of features and extra game modes we want to implement in future updates for the game.

extra biomes
Travel through new biomes during challenge mode or add custom skins to your multiplayer experience. We plan on adding a wide variety of visual themes and seasonal events to the game, ranging from jungle theme to winter snowy landscapes.

extra maze pieces
We already have a wide range of different pieces each with their own mechanics tied to them. But we plan to expand this roster with more additional pieces, each with their own mechanics and functions. An example of this would be a piece with a trap placed upon it, or a bridge allowing movement on separate levels.

deeper character customization
We plan on adding a fully functional character customization and expanding on the selection of pieces you can use to create your very own character.
Extra body types, facial features, accessories, outfits and more!

animal companions
Befriend an animal and have them join in your adventure throughout the maze.

different game modes
We plan on expanding the game by introducing new game modes.
Things like team versus, powerups,... that change up how the game plays.

supported languages
The game is currently only available in English, we would love to add more languages.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Maze'Em currently consists of a fully functional multiplayer and a single player, puzzle oriented challenge mode. There is a playable tutorial that will teach you the core mechanics of the game and get you up and running in no time.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan on raising the price of the game after Early Access, the price may also change while in Early Access when we release big updates. We would like to thank everyone who has been supporting us during Early Access with a reduced price for that period.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We are a small team and have set ourselves a clear goal for Maze'Em. We are happy with the current direction of the game and believe that with input from our players we will make Maze'Em the best it can be.

We intend to use a range of different methods to gather player feedback and data throughout the early access period. These include engaging with users directly on our official communication channels and our Steam forum, giving the players a chance the help shape the future of Maze'Em.”
