What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Welcome! I'm Ian Underwood, the lead developer for Wyldernook. This game is a passion project of mine and while it isn't completed, it's fully playable and ready to be tested at scale. Early Access is a valuable way to introduce the game to you and give you a change to feedback on balance, features and overall experience.
Our goal as the Studio Kejami team is to collaborate with you while you discover the game and to build a community together.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We're currently expecting to be in Early Access about 6 months. We plan to exit Early Access when all the card artwork is completed, as that's the main development bottleneck, so you'll be able to track our velocity towards release over the course of Early Access.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Currently, much of the card artwork is in a black and white sketch phase, and we're in the ongoing process of updating all card art to fully colored art.
Additionally, more cards are planned to be added to each faction over the course of Early Access, as well as adding more single player campaign content.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is fully playable!
Currently, only the first act of the Campaign is released, with more acts planned.
The Custom Card Creation Engine is in a beta stage, and will be expanded on. We want to know what kind of cards you want to make, and how we can make it possible.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We don't plan on changing any prices just because it's in Early Access. Also, your collection & purchases will persist between Early Access and full release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Wyldernook is experimenting with new ideas for the TCG genre and we want to know from you what you love and want to see more of.
We'll be collecting feedback on gameplay, balance, and the game's direction on Discord and Steam's community forums.”

Roadmap

Wyldernook Early Access Roadmap

The path through the Wyldernook is only just beginning.

Since entering Early Access, your feedback has helped shape the world we're building. Today we're sharing a look at what's ahead as we continue evolving the world’s adventures, cards, and handcrafted art.

On the first Tuesday of the month, faction-focused card drops will deepen each faction's identity, introducing new characters, abilities, and tools for players to discover new ways to build and play their decks. Each faction drop will include 2x Legendary Champions, 2x Epics, 2x Rares, 2x Commons. In the second half of the month we will release art updates as more of Wyldernook's world evolves from early sketches into fully realized illustrations.

In Q3, the most requested Ranked and Leaderboards will arrive, giving players a place to prove their skill and see how they measure up against the rest of the community.

Then in Q4, the journey continues with Chapter 2 of the Campaign, taking you deeper into the heart of the Wyldernook and uncovering more secrets of the arch-witch, Serincenthe.

Throughout it all we will continue to add various community requested features and polish improvements.

As with any journey through the unknown, our path may change as we learn from the community and continue developing the game during Early Access. Thank you for walking the path with us! We're excited to share what comes next.

About This Game

A BATTLE OF WITS

Be on guard! Here lies a strange world where the soil empowers everything it touches, and corruption is just around the next bend.

Wyldernook is a champion-led card battler focused on mind games. Each player plans their turn in secret, then actions are revealed simultaneously. Predict your opponents' next move and you'll be unstoppable.

WHY PLAY WYLDERNOOK

Reckless Gremlins, Trickster Fae, and Primordial Beings will bend others to your will…

Wyldernook applies the love of champion style deckbuilding and classic TCG tactics into a new style of simultaneous turn based gameplay. This allows you to take time honored card dynamics (plus a few new mechanics!) and apply them in entirely novel ways to dominate in singleplayer Duels, multiplayer Court PVP, or a Roguelike Campaign.

A major perk of Wyldernook’s gameplay style is that even with 4 players, simultaneous turns keeps the game flowing quickly. Wyldernook is completely free-to-play, with all major features available during Early Access.

You can earn cards from gameplay, along with free daily packs. Cards can also easily be forged directly from dust earned through gameplay and your collection will stay intact after Wyldernooks’ full release. Every card you forge or pull from packs can also be traded.

RESPECT YOUR OPPONENT, OUTSMART THEM ANYWAY

With eyes never meant for the sane, Serincenthe could see through every plan of her enemy…

The journey into the Wyldernook starts with defeating each of its 7 factions to unlock their starter decks, each consisting of a champion and 40 starter cards. Once you’ve amassed these initial 287 cards, your journey into a whole new world of deckbuilding opportunities will quickly reveal itself.

Luck may create opportunities, but consistent victory will come from stronger deckbuilding, correctly anticipating your opponent and creative mechanic iteration.

ROGUELIKE CAMPAIGN

With the Eye, the other races finally stood a chance against the arch-witch…

Starting with a standard deck, you can upgrade to customize it with powerful relics as you explore the Wyldernook, defeating enemies left and right. Along your adventure, you'll be presented with moments of storytelling and role-playing. Will you choose a path of good or power?

A COLLECTION UNIQUELY YOURS

They told the story of a world that was wyld…

Every card in your collection features handcrafted art and is its own unique entity. Games played, wins, losses, and unique stats related to the card itself are all tracked. As you play with them, cards become worn around the edges, a badge of honor for a favorite card. Winning games and defeating enemies in the campaign unlocks fun stickers you can place on cards for added customization. You can even sleeve your cards!

CREATE YOUR OWN RULES

Your story begins here…

Ever dream of designing your own TCG? With the custom Card Creator, you can make your own custom cards and play them with friends in custom games. The unique Rules Engine allows you to easily code your own cards. Wyldernook brings back the era of custom editors and community-made rule sets to the TCG genre.
