“We've chosen Early Access to let the community shape how the game will evolve over time. We appreciate player feedback and plan to use it to create the best experience possible. The game has already evolved so much thanks to community suggestions and bug reports, so we plan to continue this trend all the way to full release.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“The total development time for the game to reach full release will depend on player feedback, content requests, and our personal goals for the game's final state. Therefore, the full scope may change over time. With that said, we hope to have FOREWARNED released from Early Access by the end of 2023 / early 2024.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“At its current Early Access state, FOREWARNED can be enjoyed with a fully functioning end-to-end gameplay loop with significant replayability and diversity per expedition. The difference between the game's current Early Access state and full release is the addition of even more content, bug fixes, features and polish that we plan to add, including:

new Mejai AI with unique behaviors and abilities
a plethora of additional loot in the form of relics, lore pages, and rare treasure
new equipment and upgrades
additional archaeological tasks to complete
further variety of rooms within the procedurally generated ruins
more maps, puzzles, and challenges
increased horror and excitements
...and more

We also plan on integrating the most desired features from community feedback!”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“FOREWARNED is a feature-rich experience filled with exciting content and gameplay mechanics. The game has significantly progressed since its initial Early Access launch and now includes the following core gameplay mechanics:

Full PC & VR crossplay supported with online co-op
In-game voice chat (proximity and global)
Public and private lobbies
Customizable character creation
10 maps to explore
Procedurally generated ruins for infinite tomb layout possibilities
Core mechanics: investigation, escape, banishment
Equipment purchasing and upgrading
Collectible treasure (Gold, relics, rare treasure, lore pages, and more...)
Unique AI, each with particular strengths and weaknesses.
Archaeological objectives to complete during each expedition
Unique afterlife mechanics

Each 'round' or expedition can take anywhere between 10-30 minutes, depending on your strategy and desire to explore and collect. With procedurally-generated levels, randomized AI, the number of collectibles, possible upgrades to your equipment, and other challenges, we estimate the game's replayability will be high, increasing with each iteration on the road to Release 1.0.”

About This Game

FOREWARNED is a 1-4 player co-op survival horror game where you and your friends embark on an expedition into haunted ancient Egyptian tombs. Investigate phenomena, collect treasure, discover lore, survive danger, and banish the evil that lurks within.

GEAR UP AND DELVE DEEP

Play solo, with a group of friends, or find a public lobby online. Take advantage of every tool at your disposal to identify the name of the mummy haunting the ruins and enter the tomb's inner chamber. Retrieve the sacred relic, along with any other treasure you find along the way.

SURVIVE THE HORRORS WITHIN

The mummies that haunt these tombs, also known as the cursed Mejai, will physically manifest in an attempt to prevent your escape. Each Mejai possesses unique characteristics and abilities. Overcome their strengths and exploit their weaknesses to escape with your life.

EXPLORE PROCEDURALLY GENERATED TOMBS

Choose from ten unique maps set in vividly detailed and rich environments across the Sahara. Each map type possesses a distinct procedurally generated ancient Egyptian tomb that has nearly limitless layout possibilities so that no two playthroughs are ever the same, each containing its own creatures, traps, puzzles, and other unique features to discover.

BANISH THE EVIL

The ancient texts suggest there's a way to banish the evil that haunts these ruins by performing a ritual in the tomb's lowest level. Will you give in to greed and delve deeper into the darkness to put an end to the curse and find treasure of unparalleled worth, or will you be content leaving with your life?

DEATH IS ONLY THE BEGINNING

When you die, you will have the option to return as a servant of the Mejai. Will you hold on to a semblance of your former self and help the remaining survivors, or demonstrate loyalty to your new master?

Strategize with your teammates with in-game proximity and global voice chat.
Item Shop System
As you collect gold, you can purchase new equipment and upgrade your existing tools to be more powerful and effective.

You may also find rare treasure during your expeditions that will be displayed in your lobby for all to admire once you collect it.

There are over 150 lore pages that can be found in the ruins and transcribed to unveil the story behind the cursed Mejai.
