What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“The nature of a game like Lost Isle lends itself perfectly to community collaboration, and there's not a better way of doing that in today's day and age than Early Access. The EA version of Lost Isle isn't without its flaws, but it is a strong foundation with immense potential, and working with our community by pooling together our hopes and ideas, we believe it will truly become great.

We talk often internally about how liberating it is to have created specifically a fantasy open-world survival game, because we can run with just about anything we can conceive. We're a small development team with a limited number of minds... imagine what we can come up with together with all of you! Whether it's as small and simple as a new cooking ingredient or as grandiose and complex as a new world boss, we want to hear your ideas and help bring them to life within the world of Lost Isle.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Our current estimation is that Lost Isle will be ready to leave Early Access in about 2 years, but the most transparent answer is that it will remain in EA for as long as it takes. We want to spend enough time in continued development to meet - and hopefully exceed - expectations, ensuring that our players get a complete, satisfying experience.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Almost everything we have planned for development during Early Access is an improvement to and/or expansion upon existing systems. For example, our world map will include one biome - jungle - at the time of EA release, but we have several additional biomes like desert and tundra in the works with accompanying points of interest, wildlife, and enemies that we plan to release as free updates incrementally as they're completed. We also plan to vastly expand on world events to bring players together from across the server to overcome group challenges.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Lost Isle in its current state is technically feature complete with an expansive game loop, including plenty of early, mid, and end game content. During beta playtest access, some individual players of our demo logged from 80 to 200+ hours on a smaller map with fewer features than will be included in the Early Access version.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The Early Access purchase price will be lower than the 1.0 purchase price due to the addition of planned features, gameplay, and quality of life improvements. Of course, anyone who purchases Lost Isle in EA will get the 1.0 updates for free and will not be required to make a second purchase.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We're very active in our Discord server where we regularly communicate with the community. We collect feedback there and take it seriously, as we've already implemented much of the feedback we've received. We also plan to host monthly developer AMA's, as well as releasing polls to get the community's input on upcoming feature development plans.”

About This Game

You sailed to the Lost Isle to stake your claim of wealth and glory, but after a violent storm, you were thrown overboard and washed ashore with nothing but a small knife and a single candle to light up the road. Carve out of existence in an unforgiving environment disguised as a paradise. You are not the only survivor; everyone is after the same thing: staying alive.

Lost Isle is a game of ingenuity and sheer will to survive. Each experience is what you make of it. Every day is a new chance to rise to the top, and every death is an opportunity for sweet revenge.

Inspired by other incredible survival games that we all know and love, Lost Isle takes the open-world survival craft genre and adds a medieval fantasy twist that is sure to feel like a fresh and unique experience.

With high-quality dedicated servers supporting up to 200 players, on a fresh server wipe, your first PvP encounter might be on a beach against other dagger-wielding survivors. Throughout the lifetime of a server, alliances will form, bases will be built, and PvP might turn into organized group raiding. Always watch your back because that player you killed on your first encounter on the beach might just take their revenge…

Players aren’t the only thing on the island out to get you. The world is full of intelligent creatures and wildlife equipped with AI designed to deliver an immersive and rewarding combat experience. On the other hand, PvE ranges from hunting rabbits and elk for resources to fending off wolves and sharks to taking down formidable night beasts, skeletal warriors, and forest golems.

Experience a new kind of first-person melee thanks to the directional combat system, developed to reward players’ abilities to hit sweet spots such as headshots and deal extra damage to take down your enemies more effectively. Whether you prefer to play as a spell-slinging wizard, arrow-flinging archer, or classic sword-wielding knight, there are weapons and armor for each playstyle.

Lost Isle differentiates from other open-world survival games in that it stems from the lore that the land the players are trapped in exists in an alternate earth setting. Taking place during the medieval period, the island itself is the prison-tomb of a fallen god named Mauroth - whose cosmic energies flow through the earth itself, into every root and vein. As you explore, you will encounter flora and fauna, some familiar and others that do not grow in our world.

Ever-burning trees that have long been dead but have never really died. Mineral deposits are the result of Mauroth’s celestial tomb being thrust down to Earth with immense heat and force. Fibrous plants infused with mystical properties. Flying beasts with skin so thick that almost nothing can pierce it. Endlessly wandering giants made from an amalgamation of all of these things. Harvesting these resources will allow you to craft the most powerful weapons and armor in the game.

Almost everything in Lost Isle is designed to be generated procedurally, from the biome and landscape generation to point-of-interest locations to the stats and effects of weapons and armor. We pride ourselves in saying that each wipe cycle you play will be a fresh experience and will never feel like you are repeating the same steps as your last adventure.
