What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“I want to open Dungeons & Dummies early so I can shape the game based on player feedback. Play now and provide feedback to help with balancing and shaping the final version of the game. Their are many items that can dynamically change the way you play and your feedback is vital to releasing an overall balanced and fun product.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“6 months”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“I plan to add more variety to the dungeon.
More enemies and bosses.
And most importantly more weapons, spells, and customizations.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Hop in customize your character and enter the into a procedurally generated dungeon either alone or with up to 7 friends. Fight enemies, avoid traps, defeat the boss and most importantly get loot. There are quest to be completed and a large number of items to help craft your build how you'd like, whether that be spell casting, healing, melee, speed or defense. ”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“No”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback is crucial to balancing the game properly. With such a wide variety of items that can be equipped its impossible for me to test all the different combinations. Join our Discord and drop your recommendations for items, spells, or just overall balancing issues.”

About This Game

Descend alone or drag up to 7 friends with you into a deep, ever-changing dungeon that absolutely does not care about your feelings.

Every run is a calculated risk. By “calculated,” we mean you’ll say “one more floor” at least three times before something terrible happens. Head downward for shiny loot, questionable quests, and the promise of becoming stronger… assuming the dungeon doesn’t humble you first. The deeper you go, the harder enemies hit, the rarer supplies become, the more frequent traps become, and the exit starts feeling like a myth.

Greed is encouraged. Survival is optional.

Back in town, recover your dignity. Sell your spoils, buy better gear, reorganize your inventory for the fifth time, and confidently announce your new “build strategy” before immediately abandoning it next run. Customize your character, specialize your role, and debate whether this is finally the run where you play it safe.

It won’t be.

Whether you’re cautiously poking around early floors or desperately sprinting from something you absolutely should not have aggro’d, every decision matters. And sometimes the bravest move… is pretending you meant to extract early.

Play how you want. Dungeons & Dummies gives you full control of how you play. Combine swords, axes, shields, wands, and consumables in any way you see fit. Outfit your character with helmets, shoes, chest crystals, and accessories, all which help you create a build unique to you.

Dungeons & Dummies features:

  • Dozens of elixirs, weapons, gear, and spells.

  • Stat modifiers so every item helps your build feel unique.

  • A procedurally generated dungeon that gets longer and more complex the deeper you go.

  • Weapon modifiers. Go to the forge to change your weapons so they apply chill, shock, burn, poison, arcane, or light damage.

  • Enemies on each floor have different weaknesses and resistances helping each floor feel unique.

  • Various NPCs that sell goods and offer quest.

  • Various questlines that each feature a unique endgame reward.

  • Variety of bosses and enemies that get more difficult the deeper you go into the dungeon but also drop better loot.

  • Hotbar that allows for quick cycling through items in both hands.

  • Ability to min/max settings to experience the game how you want to.

  • Shareable loot. Find a shield but you don't need it? Drop it for your tank.

  • Dozens of spells, such as damaging, healing, and summoning. Various AOE spells as well.

  • Customizable characters. Adjust your face, mouth, color, and body type to express you.

  • Emotes, express yourself with your friends.

  • Supports up to 8 players with an experimental option to allow up to 16 player lobbies.
