What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Since our first playtest, we’ve witnessed the tremendous benefits of community involvement in our development process. We believe that Early Access is the ideal model for ensuring Level Zero: Extraction evolves in the best possible way. Even though we’re proud of the work we’ve already put into the project, the Early Access launch will allow us to significantly expand the game with broader community feedback in mind. We’re incredibly grateful for all the support our team received from our playtesters and community members during the development, and we’re excited to continue this journey together.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“The duration of the Early Access period will depend on various factors, including our satisfaction with the game and community feedback. At this time, we’re aiming for around 12 months of Early Access. However, these plans are subject to change. We will release regular Early Access updates and keep a close connection with our fans until the game is ready for 1.0, after which it will enter a new exciting phase.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We intend to grow and refine the game based on community feedback. This includes adding new content and features, ongoing balancing, quality-of-life improvements, etc. Please refer to the ‘About the Game’ section and the Living Roadmap below for more details. Planned additions include:

  • New weapons
  • New enemies
  • New rewards
  • New maps
  • New game modes
  • Additions to progression systems for Mercenaries and Aliens
  • New lore elements
  • Controller support
  • New gameplay mechanics
  • Cosmetic items & Emotes

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Please check the “About the Game” section below for a comprehensive overview of the current content & features. It’s important to note that we continue to work on the game, and the Early Access launch is just the beginning for our team. Some aspects of the game are subject to change depending on various development factors. Players might encounter occasional bugs or performance issues; please report them via our Steam Forums or Discord.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The game's price might increase with the release of the 1.0 version, as by then, Level Zero: Extraction will have much more content and features. However, the price change won't affect you if you purchase the game during the Early Access period..”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We will collect feedback by conducting player surveys, private playtests before major updates, developer Q&A sessions, and more. Join our Discord by clicking the button below to stay updated and share your thoughts.”

DEVELOPMENT ROADMAP

Digital Deluxe Edition

About This Game

Level Zero: Extraction is a multiplayer extraction horror. The game blends the heart-pounding tension of asymmetric survival horrors with the high-stakes showdowns of extraction shooters to create a brand-new immersive multiplayer experience. Playing as an elite PMC mercenary, embark on dangerous raids to extract valuable loot and face off against other players and unpredictable PvE hazards. Or take on the role of a formidable alien monster and hunt the humans until no mortal is left standing.

FIGHT

• Squad up with up to 2 teammates against other mercenaries and player-controlled alien monsters.

• Engage in tactical, intense gunfights with a variety of military-grade firearms and cutting-edge prototypes.

• Customize each gun with attachments, stocks, and sights to fit your fighting style.

• Experience a fierce, visceral melee combat system and use axes, swords, and sledgehammers to maul your enemies.

• Explore several maps with unique settings, dangers, and lore.

EXTRACT

• Find valuable loot like weapons, resources, and tradeable items, and extract safely.

• Complete contracts to grow your reputation with traders and unlock new powerful equipment.

• Use proximity chat to contact other players – try to cooperate and extract together, or betray your rivals.

• Create neural implants with random effects that will enhance and modify your mercenary.

• Unlock new extraction zones using unique items to get the upper hand over the competition.

SURVIVE

• Face AI enemies and other PVE hazards – mutants, automated turrets, live wires, and mines.

• Utilize a vast arsenal of gadgets like motion detectors or remote door controls to aid your survival.

• Death is not the end – if you die, continue helping your allies by playing as a flying surveillance drone.

• Use crafting stations to get ammo, weapons, healing items, syringes that provide unique buffs, and more.

• Light is the only way to kill the player-controlled aliens – defend with flares, flashlights, and other tools.

HUNT

• Play as a deadly alien beast to hunt humans and improve your DNA powers with each raid.

• Cooperate with another alien to ambush mercenaries and plan your next move.

• Use alien abilities like toxic spit, invisibility, scream, or EMP wave to instill horror in your enemies.

• Avoid light sources at all costs – every lightbulb or flare is deadly to you.

• After leveling up your alien monster, sell its DNA to reset progress and earn currency for the mercenary.
