What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“The core gameplay loop of Past Visiting Hours is complete, and the game is already a fully playable multiplayer experience. However, we believe the best horror games are shaped by the people playing them.

Early Access gives us the opportunity to work closely with the community, discover what makes the game genuinely fun (and terrifying!), and explore new ideas together.

We want your feedback to help shape the future of the game, from balancing the cat-and-mouse gameplay between hospital staff and The Board to introducing new horrors, mechanics, and unexpected surprises.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We're aiming for approximately 12 months in Early Access, though this may change depending on community feedback and the direction development takes.
As a small indie project, we'd rather take the time to get things right than rush towards an arbitrary release date. Our goal is to deliver a polished, enjoyable experience that both we and the community are excited about.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version already offers the complete core gameplay experience, but we have plenty of ideas for making the hospital an even more horrifying place to work!

Throughout Early Access, we plan to expand and improve the game with:
- More monsters: New and terrifying creatures for The Board to unleash upon unsuspecting hospital staff.
- More curses: Additional ways to shake up each shift, introducing new challenges and opportunities for chaos.
- More maps: New rooms and concepts to explore
- Visual improvements: Higher-quality textures, improved character models, and more polished animations.
- More personality: Additional voice lines, audio improvements, and atmospheric details to bring the hospital and its inhabitants to life.
- Gameplay refinements: Balancing, quality-of-life improvements, and potentially new mechanics inspired by community feedback.

Our goal is to make the full release a bigger, scarier, and more polished version of the game, while preserving the chaotic fun that makes playing with friends so enjoyable.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Past Visiting Hours is already a fully playable, end-to-end multiplayer experience.
Players can take on the role of hospital staff, explore the hospital, locate patients, perform occult diagnostics, and attempt to complete their shift while avoiding the horrors unleashed by The Board.
Alternatively, one player can take control of The Board, overseeing the hospital from above and deploying monstrous creatures to disrupt the medical team's efforts.
The core gameplay systems are implemented, allowing players to experience complete matches from start to finish.
While there's still work to be done on visual polish, additional content, and gameplay balancing, Early Access is about expanding and refining an already playable game, rather than building one from scratch.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes, we expect the price to increase slightly when the game leaves Early Access, potentially by around 10%.
We want Past Visiting Hours to remain an affordable indie horror game that groups of friends can pick up and enjoy without breaking the bank.
Early Access players will be able to purchase the game at a lower price while supporting its continued development.
Our intention is to keep the game reasonably priced, even as we introduce more content and improvements.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We want the community to have a real voice in how Past Visiting Hours evolves.
Our primary hub for feedback and discussion will be our Discord server, where players can share their experiences, report bugs, suggest new features, and tell us exactly which monsters are ruining their evenings.
We're particularly interested in hearing about gameplay balance, especially the dynamic between hospital staff and The Board, as well as ideas for new curses, creatures, and mechanics.
We'll use this feedback to help prioritise updates, refine existing systems, and shape future content.
Ultimately, we're making a horror game for people who love playing horror games with their friends, and we want those players to be part of the journey.”

About This Game

Welcome to Past Visiting Hours. Your presence has been noted. It is not appreciated.

Grab your medical bag, gather your colleagues, and prepare for the worst shift of your life.

In this 1v3 asymmetrical multiplayer horror game, up to three players take on the role of unfortunate hospital staff, sent into a not-so-abandoned hospital with one simple task: find the patients, diagnose their ailments, and get out alive.

Unfortunately, the hospital has other plans.

Lurking behind the crumbling walls and flickering lights is The Board, the hospital's mysterious and deeply unpleasant management. And they're not particularly thrilled about your little medical intervention.

Even worse? One of your friends is running the show.

AN UNHOLY HOUSE CALL

The patients are waiting. Somewhere.

Explore the hospital's twisting corridors and forgotten wards in search of its remaining patients. Each suffers from a mysterious, occult affliction that won't be diagnosed with a simple thermometer.

Perform bizarre medical examinations, uncover unsettling symptoms, and piece together the clues to determine what's wrong with each patient.

Get the diagnoses right, survive the shift, and you might just make it home.

Of course, that's assuming management doesn't get involved.

MEET THE BOARD

Every hospital has management. This one is particularly hands-on.

While the medical team scrambles through the wards in first-person, one player becomes The Board, watching the entire hospital from a sinister bird's-eye perspective.

You're not here to heal anyone. You're here to make sure nobody else does.

Summon the hospital's grotesque inhabitants, take control of nightmarish creatures, and unleash horrifying modifications to make life miserable for the intruders.

Stalk them through dark corridors. Interrupt their examinations. Turn a routine diagnosis into a desperate fight for survival.

You're the puppet master, and the hospital is your playground.

PICK YOUR POISON

Before setting foot inside the hospital, there's one last administrative formality.

Choose your curses.

Every shift begins with a selection of sinister curses that change the rules of the game. Perhaps the hospital's creatures become faster and more relentless. Perhaps The Board gains terrifying new powers.

The more dangerous the curses, the more horrifying the night ahead.

Choose carefully.

Or don't. What's the worst that could happen?

WORK TOGETHER. OR DIE TRYING.

Communication is essential when your workplace is actively trying to murder you.

Coordinate with your fellow medical staff to locate patients, conduct examinations, and uncover the hospital's occult mysteries.

But remember: The Board is watching.

Every moment spent diagnosing a patient is another opportunity for management to intervene. Every dark corridor could conceal something unspeakable. And every scream over voice chat is probably your colleague having a very bad day.

YOUR SHIFT. YOUR NIGHTMARE.

  • 1v3 Asymmetrical Multiplayer Horror: Up to three hospital staff against one player controlling The Board.

  • Two Very Different Ways to Play: Experience tense first-person survival horror or become an all-seeing puppet master.

  • Occult Medical Mysteries: Find patients, perform strange diagnostics, and deduce their supernatural ailments.

  • Become the Monster: As The Board, summon, control, and modify the hospital's freakish inhabitants.

  • Curse Your Own Shift: Choose from a range of curses that alter the challenge and give The Board new ways to torment you.

  • Cooperative Chaos: Work together, think fast, and try not to panic when everything inevitably goes horribly wrong.

THE BOARD THANKS YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE.

Your safety is not our responsibility.

Your survival is not guaranteed.

And your visiting hours are over.
