What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We chose to enter Early Access for Contact Spotted due to the fact that there's a lot left to complete on the game for the future. We have a lot of ambitions that will really put the game together, but this is for the future.

In the future we plan to add creative game modes to the game and reinforce the customizable options further to allow the players to have more of a say in their gear.

We plan to add more classes and different nationalities (class nationalities/skins) to the game which players can access both for free as well as for premium currency.

Early Access will also be on the game to receive community feedback after release to hear about what we should improve to satisfy the people, we at Riverfall only wish to create a fun game both for us developers and the players as we will all at the end of the day be playing it.

We will always have our support e-mail (contact@riverfallgames.com) open for feedback like that as well as our community Discord.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We believe that Contact Spotted will only remain in Early Access for maximum a year, however we hope we will complete it about three (3) months after entering Early Access and letting the public access the game as we wish to hear the community feedback before leaving Early Access.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The Early Access will be playable and unique, but we wish to add more distinct features to the game as well as maps, game modes, skins, characters, firearms and such. As well as a free game pass and a premium one to allow the players to impact the game themselves.

We will definitely add a lot of unique never before seen game modes to the game when we are in and/or leaving Early Access. The players during Early Access will have a huge opportunity to impact the game and have a standing role within our community as a contributor to our first video-game. This is a multiplayer game so the collective-opinions of the community is the only thing that matters for this project, so we are hugely open to suggestions during and after this time.

Also during Early Access we will make sure to get the Networking perfect (on-spot) for most regions with players on Contact Spotted to make sure the players can have the option to get a good ping. Performance fixes will also happen during this time to make sure everyone will haev a fair option to play Contact Spotted on a decent Ping/FPS. There will be a large-variety of settings to tweak inside of Contact Spotted to fit your system the best but you can also receive help with this from the Riverfall staff.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current state of Early Access will have a few game modes both in casual and competitive games, but pre Early Access work will have a larger focus on the casual scene as that is easier to work on and get perfect as we want the players to have a chance to test out our game as soon as possible. Then competitive will turn into a priority working on the ranking system, K/D/A in ranked and the class-picking-system we will have.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Nope! The game will always remain free-to-play with customizables you can purchase for real money in the game, however this will not be advertised and will be completely up to you whether you want to access or not in a menu in the game.

We at Riverfall Games believe that free-to-play games is better to bring a communtiy together and allow everyone to have fun with a game without having to worry about trivial issues such as money. With this being a multiplayer game instead of a singleplayer story game we have the option to not rely on game-purchases for server upkeep.

However we may add DLCs (character / firearm skins) in the future as well as the game's soundtrack which people can purchase, but this will be customizables only giving the player no extra abilities other than a new skin.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We are trying to involve the community in the game development every way we can! We urge the community to contact the developers at Riverfall Games in the Discord, on Twitter, join our Twitch streams and send a message or send us an e-mail directly and we can get back to you! We will also add surveys for people that want to take the shortcut with feedback and/or suggestions for the game.

The community's voice will hugely impact the game and we understand that the community knows best when it comes to a lot of topics! The players know what the players want, that's a motto we in the development team are going after.”
