What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Disc Ninja is a game based on real-life sport, disc golf. We tried to emulate the physics as realistically as possible but we need feedback from players to find out how to improve it further.
Early Access will help us improve the game and build additional features in accordance with players' comments.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“6 months”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We're going to develop the current vision of the game, according to the feedback from our community. We're strict to our goals but also open for changes, even the big ones, but only if they'll improve the experience of playing the Disc Ninja. Our main goal is to create the most immersive experience of playing the disc golf, which optionally can be extended by mini-golf mechanics. All of it set in our interpretation of Feudal Japan theme.

We want to share with all of you the list of our planned features, where some of them are already in development.
  • Valve Index support - The top priority.
  • At least 10 more playable maps, probably even more.
  • More ways to complete each map, even these already existing.
  • More traps to challenge even more your dexterity!
  • Dynamically changing environments with partially destructible elements, like: cut through ropes to unlock a bridge, destroy pillars to make a way through the debris, or find and open secret doors.
  • Did we said something about cutting? Yes! You will be able to feel like a real ninja. The sword will be added soon!
  • We know that every ninja requires an additional weapon to operate from afar. This one will be added in the future.
  • Leaderboards - Soon you will be able to share your score and compete with others.
  • Much more various discs which will vary in the following physics-related parameters: size, weight, shape, aerodynamic stuff, visuals - not completely physics, but who wouldn't want to have a cool disc?!
  • Replays - The possibility to rewatch your awesome throws again and again!
  • Local multiplayer - Throw a party and compete with your friends!
  • Online multiplayer - Can't throw a party? Meet your friends online!
  • Hall of fame - Each Early Access participant will be properly rewarded and decorated for his/her merits.
  • Various collectables.
  • More challenge modes.
  • And of course, features requested by our community, the ones which will go along with the game vision or improve the overall experience.

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The first version of Early Access build is the fully playable VR game. Our main goal was achieved, which is the disc throwing and flying real-life physics, including the aerodynamics implications. It just requires some additional polish according to your feedback. The second achieved goal was to visualize our vision of the ninja from Feudal Japan, where a bit of magic exists.

To experience all of it we provided 6 fully playable maps, which are set in various environments. Each of them is non-linear, which means that you can complete them in more than one way. Also, some of them are filled with traps, to test your dexterity and timing skills. Currently, there are 2 challenge modes if you want to do something more than admiring marvellous, highly stylized world during your disc golf runs. Each of it put your disc throwing skills on the ninja-alike level.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“As the game becomes bigger, the price might be increased.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We're going to involve our community by using Steam Community Hub and the Reddit forum. Also, additional feedback will be collected through questionnaires and passive analytics tools.”

Disc Ninja is a Virtual Reality disc golf game in which the player must throw his flying disc until he reaches the final target.
Players complete a hole by throwing a disc from a tee area toward a target, throwing again from the landing position of the disc until the target is reached.
The goal is to reach the target in as few throws as possible.

This is an Early Access build. This means that the throwing mechanics are not final – we want to make it as realistic as possible so your feedback is very much welcome and needed!
We will also add many more maps. Currently, there are 6 maps available, but we have 10 more in progress and each of it will be added every few weeks up to 16 maps total.
