Why Early Access?

“The game has some very novel mechanics in the tactical space, so we wanted to have a period of community involvement before adding the full amount of content and the final layer of meta progression. Things like balance, difficulty, quality of life will be a constant effort, but more importantly we want to get a clear understanding of what aspects of the game to invest in more, and which to adjust. (rather than make everything and find out we need to change half the game)
We want our early access period to be a demonstration of our integrity and passion as a developer. We plan to be focused and deliberate with each step, fully transparent, and make it fun to participate in.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“6-12 months depending on where feedback takes us. We will maintain an up to date roadmap with our priorities and plans.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“ZOR's early access will be polished, as bug free as possible and feel close to a complete game. It will have a tutorial, intro run, and a repeatable procedural run.
At launch the game will have more content and bosses, a meta progression system, and the final narrative moments. Also steam features like achievements and cloud saves, will be supported by launch.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Currently the game has a polished tutorial and intro (playable in the demo), core features like settings and save/load implemented, and the procedural mode is playable, but in progress. Content is being added and tuned, and QoL adjustments are being made based on feedback.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price may increase slightly on release, to give the best value to those who are engaged early.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We will be very active on steam and discord discussions, will continue dev diaries which will shift to prompting discussion around upcoming features, as well as listening via our other social channels.
We intend to do a rotating schedule of updates between tuning (QoL, bugs, polish, balance) and new content. The intent of this is to keep our work focused and therefore maintain high quality throughout. Secondly it will help focus the conversation so we can get deeper into the discussions.
How the community responds to the game, and what people care about most will drive development up to launch.”

About This Game

On a weird and ridiculously dangerous planet, a tribe of resourceful monsters called Slorfs, have witnessed a terrible omen. Their star god ZOR has wept a tear, blasting the horizon with a haze of despair. Two young Slorfs must embark on a pilgrimage to investigate, in a desperate attempt to regain ZOR’s favor before all of existence disappears.
