What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We’ll be launching Necronator: Dead Wrong with one playable campaign and a good chunk of content, but there will be a lot more content to come over the following six months or so: more commanders, more cards, more relics, more single-player campaigns, and more units.

We want to use the Early Access period to take in player feedback and tune the game accordingly.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

Necronator: Dead Wrong will be in early access for 6-8 months: we want to get to a full 1.0 launch in 2020.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version will add more commanders, more events, more units and unit upgrades, and generally more content. You can expect at least two more single-player campaigns, additional tiers of unit upgrades, and more commanders to play as.

We have a clear roadmap of where we're going but we want to make sure we get players' feedback and participation in making Necronator: Dead Wrong the very best it can be.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version will be more or less feature complete, but we will take player feedback on board and add features to the roadmap if necessary. Early Access is planned to mostly be about adding content to the game.

Currently, the game features the first campaign which allows you to experience a series of battles and encounters on a randomly generated map that is different every time you play. There is one commander available to play as, with one card deck available immediately, and an additional card deck that you can unlock by playing.

You'll have a great time taking on the forces of Livmore: because no two runs will ever be the same: there are 12 different units to add to your army with a range of semi-random upgrades for every card in the game. You can get hours of fun from the game right now, with more content coming over the next several months.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We may raise the price once the game reaches Version 1.0 and has the full array of features and content we've planned.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We will be monitoring Steam reviews, forums, Twitter, and our own Discord for feedback — please be sure to let us know what you think of the game and what you’d like to see in the 1.0 version.”

About This Game

Modern Wolf presents Necronator: Dead Wrong, developed by Toge Productions, the creators of the Infectonator series and Coffee Talk.

Those instructors at the Undead Academy don't understand your talent. Why trudge your way through years of training... when you could just make a deal with an evil ancient demi-god? Choose a unique commander and join forces with the all-powerful Necronator to conquer the Livmore Alliance and restore the Necronator to his former glory.

  • Dark paths to tread: Become one of several distinct commanders, each with powerful spells and a unique unit. The commanders all have their own reasons for seeking the Necronator, and their stories unfold in different single-player narrative campaigns, co-written by former Fallen London scribe Chandler Groover.

  • The dead rise at your command: Collect and power up undead units to deploy onto the field in exciting, fast-paced lane defense RTS combat. There are over 20 units, each with upgradeable powers and synergies with other units. Refine and swap out units in a deck-building-style meta-game.

  • BAAA-ttle to the death: Invade the realms of Livmore and defeat the forces of good arrayed to defend them. Send your Skeleton Archers, Demon Fiends, and Gorkling Bombers to crush Livmore's Clerics, Steel Golems, and... fluffy rams?!

  • A treasury of terrifying totems: Discover unique game-changing relics that twist your commander's powers in shocking and unpredictable ways.

Do you have the tactical smarts, quick wits, and moral flexibility it takes to become the Dark Lord of Livmore? Find out in Necronator: Dead Wrong!

Necronator: Dead Wrong will launch into Early Access in February 2020. The game will launch with 1 commander and campaign, and the first two tiers of units, but we will add more over the ensuing months as we take your feedback and make Necronator: Dead Wrong the best game it can be. Our roadmap includes:
  • 5 unique commanders with their own narrative campaigns
  • Many more undead and human alliance units
  • 4 distinct biomes with different gameplay effects
  • ... and more surprises in store.
