“Space Engineers 2 is a very ambitious game, and we feel that Early Access is a great opportunity to shape its future in cooperation with the community. Player feedback has always been a crucial part of the game development process for us, and Space Engineers 2 is no exception.

In the Early Access version we plan to gradually introduce massive content updates with fresh mechanics. Some of the features will be totally new to players, and their feedback will help us greatly to iterate and deliver the best experience possible. This is why we chose Early Access as the way to go, and hope you will join us on this journey.”

“Just like with Space Engineers, the Early Access version of Space Engineers 2 is only the beginning. In recent updates, we've rolled out in-game UGC Workshop support with seamless Steam Workshop integration. Vertical Slice 1.2 brought notable gameplay enhancements, including jetpack improvements, Undo/Redo functionality for the paint gun, refined interface elements, and more. Now, with the latest Vertical Slice 1.5, we've introduced the first phase of advanced modding support through the VRAGE3 Mod HUB and Mod Editor — professional-grade tools now available to players. Looking ahead, we're focused on expanding the game further with content-rich updates and exciting new features. Next on the horizon are planets and survival, enhanced progression, and powerful new tools for creative engineering — including volumetric water, which will revolutionize gameplay through innovations like deep-sea submarines, massive water projects, and ocean exploration. Beyond that, we're also developing multiplayer, NPCs, and a narrative campaign.”

Players can use the UGC Workshop to share their creations with others, and discover new Blueprints and Worlds. Over the coming months, we’ll be rolling out updates with new features and improvements based on our roadmap and community feedback.”

If players encounter any issues in the game, we have a dedicated tech support section on our website where they can report bugs and other technical problems, which will then be forwarded to our development team.

About Alpha

In the current Alpha version, players can dive into Creative Mode, one of the most loved features, with plenty of space to build, experiment, and bring their ideas to life right from the start. Enjoy a unified 25cm grid system with new blueprint tools like snap-to-grid, paint tool, partial copy/paste, and toolbar assignments and powerful building tools, including the voxel hand, symmetry tools, and line/plane building, along with grid undo/redo for flexibility. The advanced grid system reaches speeds of 300 m/s, with built-in safety features preventing damage under 20 m/s. Dynamic fractures and debris add realistic destruction, while a visual overhaul with ray tracing, global illumination, tessellated terrain, sleek armor edges, and improved lighting pushes the game’s visuals to a whole new level.

UGC Workshop on Steam lets you share your creations with players worldwide and discover exciting new Blueprints. The latest Vertical Slice 1.5 update introduced the first phase of modding support for Space Engineers 2, including the developer-grade tools VRAGE3 Mod HUB and Mod Editor, now available to players. With a visual, in-engine workflow, you can easily create and preview content, and even add your creations directly into the game to play them immediately.

And it is just the beginning. Each week, we introduce fresh blocks to the game, giving players the chance to experiment more and elevate their builds. Over the coming months, we’ll be rolling out major content updates, each adding new features and expanding the game, while focusing on improving the core elements.
