“就重制效果来看，《帝国时代：决定版》绝对堪称高素质，但由于本作是基于一款20年前的老游戏，很多底层和AI的设计已经赶不上时代的需求。当然微软积极的态度值得肯定，不仅针对玩家和市场作出了更符合时代气息的改变，新的影音技术也颠覆了原版的视听体验，最重要的是保留了20年前带给每个玩家最初的那种感受。就如同游戏开头动画所呈现的那样，被擦亮的彩色玻璃不仅为玩家们展示了人类文明的发展之路，也擦亮了我们的回忆。”
