About This Game

Portal 2 draws from the award-winning formula of innovative gameplay, story, and music that earned the original Portal over 70 industry accolades and created a cult following.

The single-player portion of Portal 2 introduces a cast of dynamic new characters, a host of fresh puzzle elements, and a much larger set of devious test chambers. Players will explore never-before-seen areas of the Aperture Science Labs and be reunited with GLaDOS, the occasionally murderous computer companion who guided them through the original game.

The game’s two-player cooperative mode features its own entirely separate campaign with a unique story, test chambers, and two new player characters. This new mode forces players to reconsider everything they thought they knew about portals. Success will require them to not just act cooperatively, but to think cooperatively.

I love this game so much. Like, I could play this game every day for the rest of my life because of how much it offers. I would play Co-op with anyone. I've beat this game 5 times and I've speedrunned it. If I can't stress how much I love this game, I want to state that I really love this game.

Ughh until I do a proper review, WHICH I WILL. I can only say that this is truly a masterpeice, and I have no complain about this game. This is in my opinion the example of a perfect game.

I've gifted this game nearly 10 times now. I've made it my tradition to gift Portal 2 to any friend I introduce to steam to, and let me tell you know, each one of them ends up being an loving portal fan.

Buy this game, no questions. It's meta critic of 96 and the most positively review steam game for a reason!

Just get it. Thats all I have to say. It has a great story line and some great mods that are out now and are being made. The game could be played over and over and challenge your friends with challenge mode recording your time and portals for indivual levels. There are some great easter eggs and funny moments. You should play Portal:Staying alive before you play this game, but is not required. Some of the story makes no sense because you havent played the first game. This game has community levels which makes it fun after you have played the whole game over and over. I would defiently get this game in a bundle but Ive got both Portal and Portal 2 on xbox360. It is currently $8.74 for a bundle which is totally worth it.

Portal 2 is a decent first-person puzzle-platform game, developed and published by Valve Corporation, and honestly this game is really... VERY DECENT, and the story is really awesome, but i won't talk about it in my review, i want to let you discover it if you buy it ;)

About the game engine: The game is running on the Source Engine, yes the same engine of Half-Life 2, Left 4 Dead 2, and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, But Portal 2 run much better then CSGO, so any pc basically can run it without problem.

Positive Thing about this game
- Nice Graphics
- Like i said above the game can run on any pc basically
- The Story is very decent, but you need to use your brain in it since it's a puzzle-platform
- Possibility to play in Coop with one of your friends :)
- We have a real story mode, instead of the first Portal which the story mode can be beat in 2 hours, When portal 2 is 7 hours long, but it's worth it

Bad things about this game

- Nothing i didn't encountered any bugs or found negative thing to say here

To finish

This game is a must have, like i said, the story mode is really awesome, and brain intensive LOL,
So you need a puzzle-platform game ?! GO AHEAD with Portal 2 ;)

Fell off course 3 platform in co-op hub.

GLaDOS immediately booms, "How did you fail? It's not even a test!"

But I really couldn't figure out a way to get down. ._.

Anyways 10/10 great game that still plays well and looks good in 2016, with wonderful dialogue. A must have for your library.
For achievement hunters, I took about 26.2 hrs to get everything, but according to GLaDOS I'm not that bright and I've seen other people take less time.

Portal 2 is an AMAZING game, I got it for $5 when it was on sale at the beginning of October, and beat it's single-player mode later that month. (I don't have any friends to play co-op with.)
The game has an amazing story, filled with some of the BEST video game characters I've EVER seen. The secrets and easter eggs are great too!
The characters are really well done with their own backstories, personalities, and so-forth. Like, how GLaDOS was originally Cave Johnson's assistant, Caroline. Or how Wheatley was originally the "Intelligence Dampening Core", made to give GLaDOS bad ideas.
I'd say the $20 is definitely worth it, since I think there's SO much replay value! Like, the community made mods, or the Co-op mode, or the Perpetual Testing Initiative!

So, now that I've given something basic, I'm just gonna explain more.

Single-Player mode/The plot:

The single player mode has an amazing plot, and you learn more about Aperture, GLaDOS, and meet some new characters, like Wheatley! A personality core made to give GLaDOS an "endless stream of bad ideas".
You try and escape with Wheatley once GLaDOS is activated, and eventually you start a core transfer, which makes Wheatley in charge of Aperture. ...Well, this ends up making Wheatley the antagonist, as he puts GLaDOS into a potato battery, shoves the player down a pit, and so forth. Afterwards, you are in old Aperture, and old recordings of Cave Johnson, the found of Aperture, and his assistant Caroline tell you about Aperture's past. You end up finding GLaDOS, and teaming up with her to stop Wheatley.
Once you're out of old Aperture, you get to do some tests while Wheatley watches you. Later, he finds two robots made for testing and so, tries to kill you, seeing as he has no need for you anymore. You get away with GLaDOS, then finding some corrupt cores, which you can use to make Wheatley so corrupt that you can do a core transfer, and get GLaDOS back in her system. You end up in Wheatley's lair, in which he tries to kill you, but, you start your plan.
After You try to start the core transfer, Wheatley stops you. But then you put a portal under him, and one on the moon, because in an audio clip in old Aperture, it's revealed that moons rocks are the perfect portal conducting surface.
You all get sucked into the portal, and GLaDOS sends Wheatley off into space.

She pulls the player back, and then they are in Aperture again. GLaDOS goes on about how the player is her friend, and that she knows where Caroline is in her brain. She deletes Caroline, along with her new morality and emotions, and let's the player leave, telling them not to come back. Chell is then free, possibly to live a normal life, GLaDOS is alone, and Wheatley. ...Wheatley is in space, now wishing he could take it all back.

The characters in this game are amazing and well done. They each have their own story, personality, ideas, and so-forth, just like a person would.
One thing I like is the difference between some characters at the beginning of the game, and the end of it.
One example is GLaDOS, at the start, GLaDOS hated Chell, had no sense of right and wrong, and was a total jerk, but at the end, she ended up understanding herself better, she knew what was right and what was wrong, and actually started being nicer, all on her own.
I don't know WHY I like seeing characters change like this, I just do, and the way that these ones do, is amazing.
Overall, these characters are just great, and I don't know what else to say about them.

The controls:

I'd say that the controls for this game are amazing! The moment I press one of the keys, the game does what I want it to do. ..Sometimes the controls are even TOO sensitive, and do something if I just put my finger over the key and barely even tap it!
I really don't have much else to say about the controls, though..

Portal 2 is wonderful, and if you haven't bought it yet, you should. Everything is well done, and I think you'd like it.
Especially if you like puzzle games, dark humor, Sci-Fi, Good characters and lore, and space.
It has a lot of replay options, which make it a game that I certainly will be playing again sometime.
It's innovative, it's fun, it's mysterious, it's funny, it's story rich, and it is definitely worth playing.

I don't think any steam library is complete without it.

If I had to give this a number out of 10, it gets a 10.
