About This Game

Portal 2 draws from the award-winning formula of innovative gameplay, story, and music that earned the original Portal over 70 industry accolades and created a cult following.

The single-player portion of Portal 2 introduces a cast of dynamic new characters, a host of fresh puzzle elements, and a much larger set of devious test chambers. Players will explore never-before-seen areas of the Aperture Science Labs and be reunited with GLaDOS, the occasionally murderous computer companion who guided them through the original game.

The game’s two-player cooperative mode features its own entirely separate campaign with a unique story, test chambers, and two new player characters. This new mode forces players to reconsider everything they thought they knew about portals. Success will require them to not just act cooperatively, but to think cooperatively.

Just get it. Thats all I have to say. It has a great story line and some great mods that are out now and are being made. The game could be played over and over and challenge your friends with challenge mode recording your time and portals for indivual levels. There are some great easter eggs and funny moments. You should play Portal:Staying alive before you play this game, but is not required. Some of the story makes no sense because you havent played the first game. This game has community levels which makes it fun after you have played the whole game over and over. I would defiently get this game in a bundle but Ive got both Portal and Portal 2 on xbox360. It is currently $8.74 for a bundle which is totally worth it.

Fell off course 3 platform in co-op hub.

GLaDOS immediately booms, "How did you fail? It's not even a test!"

But I really couldn't figure out a way to get down. ._.

Anyways 10/10 great game that still plays well and looks good in 2016, with wonderful dialogue. A must have for your library.
For achievement hunters, I took about 26.2 hrs to get everything, but according to GLaDOS I'm not that bright and I've seen other people take less time.

Portal 2 is a decent first-person puzzle-platform game, developed and published by Valve Corporation, and honestly this game is really... VERY DECENT, and the story is really awesome, but i won't talk about it in my review, i want to let you discover it if you buy it ;)

About the game engine: The game is running on the Source Engine, yes the same engine of Half-Life 2, Left 4 Dead 2, and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, But Portal 2 run much better then CSGO, so any pc basically can run it without problem.

Positive Thing about this game
- Nice Graphics
- Like i said above the game can run on any pc basically
- The Story is very decent, but you need to use your brain in it since it's a puzzle-platform
- Possibility to play in Coop with one of your friends :)
- We have a real story mode, instead of the first Portal which the story mode can be beat in 2 hours, When portal 2 is 7 hours long, but it's worth it

Bad things about this game

- Nothing i didn't encountered any bugs or found negative thing to say here

To finish

This game is a must have, like i said, the story mode is really awesome, and brain intensive LOL,
So you need a puzzle-platform game ?! GO AHEAD with Portal 2 ;)

if you've played portal 1, you know what to expect here but they've also added more elements to spice things up.

good old portal mechanics that are amazing
new elements that are really fun
a really good fun story

quite a big section of the game dragged on for too long and did not have good puzzles design compared to the rest of the game

8/10 for me (only because of that section i mentioned)

Recommended for couples to play, crack your brains, sometimes get a little dizzy and praise each other on their wittiness.
Nothing is ever too easy or too hard, sometimes is just plain funny when we realize that things are that simple but we overthink it.

good for couples
brain work
quick play

some times it gets a little dizzy

Great game, huge addition to the Portal story. Portal has been one of my favourite games so far and my fav game story-wise. Even though this one was much longer and better than Portal in many ways, I don't know why, but I prefer the story of the first one better, the ending almost made me cry.

What's this game like? Well, to keep it simple, Portal 2 is almost identical to the orignal Portal.... except everything is significantly better. The mechanics are smooth, the puzzles are challenging and fun, the story is pretty good, and it looks very nice! Valve took many of the concepts of the first game and REALLY expanded on them, delivering one heck of a game.

Visually, the game is pretty great. While not exceptionally beautiful, the animation in Portal 2 is a good-looking game. The design and art direction are consistent, even through the different stages of the Aperture Laboratories. The old laboratories were probably my favorites, with the blending the futuristic ideas of Aperture Science and the architecture of the 1960s-70s. Many of the character models have also been updated, and the animators did a great job of portraying emotion on their relatively simple faces. We can also thank the voice actors for bringing their characters to life; their performances were excellent! While I'm talking about sound, I need to say that the soundtrack is nothing short of awesome!

Like its predecessor, Portal 2 really pushes itself when it comes to the puzzles. This game introduces a ton of new mechanics, faith plates and gels to name a few, that add onto the already awesome gameplay. The mechanics are a lot smoother this time around, and sometimes, they require more critical thinking in order to keep up. Of course, with those additions, the puzzles have gotten much more complex. You're not confined to as many test chambers as in the first game. A lot of the puzzles require you to race around Aperture Laboratories and really think outside the box. Observing your surroundings is key/i] to solving these puzzles, so you'd better keep your head on a swivel. The puzzles can get tricky at times, and even obnoxious after a few attempts to solve them. But, the shifting surroundings and constant narrative from GLaDOS keep it from getting boring. This is definitely something Valve improved on; the first Portal game really struggled with keeping me interested.

Another thing worthy of mention: this game has some cool expansions! It has an online multiplayer mode, so there are even more puzzles for you and other players to solve. It also comes with a test chamber builder, so you can count on new challenges to pop up all over the place!

The story of the Portal world is expanded a LOT in this game. Now, there are multiple characters involved, and each of them has an interesting story to tell. GLaDOS receives a great deal of character development in this game, and we get to learn about her backstory in the later half of the game. Her story isn't mind-blowingly deep, but it does make her much more interesting as a character. Too bad she throws all that out at the end of the game. Wheatley is another great character in this game. He is written in a way that makes him feel very genuine, and that makes him a great companion throughout the game. He's involved with a lot of the humor in this game, so expect a few good laughs from him. The overall story of Chell and Aperture Laboratories aren't taken into too much detail, but they are touched on more, which gives the game a stronger story element than the first Portal.

Portal 2 is the perfect example of what game sequels should be. Take everything great you did before, and turn it into something even better, without all the overkill of trying to hard. Well done, Valve. Well done!
