Zenbound 2 is a puzzle game which provides you with a rope and an object, and you are asked to wrap the rope around the object. Wherever the rope touches, a 'halo' of paint is applied, and the main goal is to cover as much of the object in paint as possible. Pins or nails are sometimes placed at strategic locations which can make the task easier or harder, based on your point of view.

Though at times, it can be frustrating to get the rope to stick or slide where and when you want it to, this is an engaging and brain-bending puzzle game. There are numerous solutions to each puzzle because of the nature of the paint mechanic, but as the difficulty increases, the objects get more complex, and the rope gets shorter, you have to carefully plan your paths to make sure that full contact is made at the right depth levels before you move to other areas.

100% completion is impossible, so if you strive for that satisfaction, don't search for it here. Casual puzzle gamers and people looking to burn 15-20 minutes at a time will love this.

Ok, so I'll just say it: It's Shibari, if Shibari meant covering inanimate objects with paint via clever use of a limited expanse of rope.

That about sums it up. The minimal look and feel of the game is to my taste when it comes to relaxing/casual stuff - though the CONSTANT sound of the straining rope can be a bit overbearing, on the whole it's a mellow and almost contemplative little game.

An interesting change from the usual casual puzzler, if you're looking for something a bit different.

With its simplistic design and elegant Asiatic music you would think this is a soothing game. To me it is an intense mindbending challenge! The object of the game is to get 100% coverage of a carved wooden shapes by wrapping it in as little of your length of rope as possible. The rope is tied to one nail and you must tie it off (touch) to the finishing nail after getting at least the minimum amount of coverage. The shapes and difficulty increase as you go. It is really a wonder to me the amount of control you have moving the shape around as you work to wrap the rope around it. It is extremely fluid. If you are in the mood for something different, requiring mindfulness, and challenging then this is for you.

Possibly the sexiest game I own. Very relaxing and calming. Even if your mind can't handle a puzzle, the sound of the rope tightening and the paint splatters is enough to justify buying it. Serously. It is fantastic. Seriously.

Calm and thoughtful puzzler with a nice easy learning curve.
Zen Bound 2 can be relaxing or incredibly frustrating, and has something for both casual puzzle players and 100% completionists. Open level select and beautiful paint effects make it visually appealing, while gentle music adds a soothing touch.

Beautiful game. It's tricky and you have to be good with your mouse and understanding 3D perspective, but good when you need to just relax and have a zen moment.

Needs a bit practice to get used to the controls and behaviour of the rope but then its realy nice.

The game is even better if you try to get perfection. 100% on a figure is sometimes realy tricky but so satisfying when you solved it.

Game for when you don't know what you want to play or you are seriously bored.
It is a relaxing game wich is almost like watching tv, you can be braindead and still find this entertaining.

I would recommend it since I got it for a dollar but I don't know if you will be just as happy if you pay more... The choice is up to you!

I'll give it a thumbs up for originality, but the game is far from perfect. In fact, if it wasn't released years ago, I'd think this game was in early access...

Let's get the good parts out of the way first: it's relaxing, plays reasonably well and has great music. And (as said) is pretty original, which means a lot. It has that typical "one more" sort of thing going on.

The bad part about it is that it makes mistakes that could've been (or even should have been) avoided. The main part: the intro. Yes, I get that it's going for a minimalistic approach. But a simple meter that displays which percentage you've 'covered' isn't too much to ask for, right? Or a visual feedback that you've completed the level.
Even more bothersome is that you have to actually exit the level to see which percentage you actually covered. Or whether you did reasonable, okay or great (not unimportant, as you need to know that for unlockable future things). There's no tutorial either. On one hand, it's not like this game is hard to wrap your head around, but nothing at all is just not enough.
And I'd love it if there were some options on the screen. It's like the only keyboard button to be used is 'escape' (which you'll need to press once you finished a level if you want to actually do anything but admire your wrapped present). I only accidentally stumbled upon the 'restart' option, and I think I'd rather have a rewind and forward button with it...though that may have been too hard to implement. Same for my wish to temporaly turn the object to glass and make anything but 20 cm of rope invisible...I'm sometimes just binding in the blind.
One thing that really shouldn't be that hard is an option to zoom in and out. For the same reasons already mentioned.
EDIT: just noticed that there's some sort of bug...there actually IS a percentage meter, as well as an indication of length. It's just not displayed on my monitor by default for some reason (I get it by alt-tabbing out of the game and then back in again...which for some reasons causes me not to be able to start a level :-\ ). Rather than deleting the above, I'll mention it. Perhaps my 1920x1080 resolution is to blame? :-\

Wow...seems like my last paragraph is quite a lot longer than my previous one. Don't let that fool you, though. I gave it a thumbs up for a reason: the game is certainly fun to play. And despite the mentioned quirks, you actually feel like you're in control of what you're doing. Which is something that isn't that common with 3D puzzlers...

Finally, a puzzle game that is difficult but doesn't make me want to punch the monitor. You wrap rope around different shaped things and try to cover as much as possible, there's other mechanics added in, and it's ridiculously addictive. One problem for me though is that, for some reason, sound effects keep cutting out halfway through, but I'm sure it's either a result of my probably mediocre sound card or a bug I will get around to working out.

Zen Bound 2 is a puzzle game different from any other I've played so far, it's a refreshing look on the genre. There are ten trees with a few sculptures each, your goal is to wrap these with a limited amount of rope. On a few levels the rope paints the sculpture as its being wrapped, on others there are paint balls tied to the rope that pop when enough pressure is put onto them and on others there are paint balls on a few spots on the sculpture that you need to pop in order to spread the paint. After you finish a tree you get its butterfly, getting the ten butterflies is the equivalent to finishing the game. Though the credits wont be forced on you, you can see them if you click on 'credits' in the menu. I got the game for free, but I'll be sure to gift it to a few friends as it's well worth the price, even though it's somewhat short. I give it an 8/10.

As the name suggests, it's pretty zen.

It's a beautiful, original puzzle game. It's relaxing and not frustrating (like a lot of puzzle games tend to get). Certainly fun for 15 minutes of downtime here and there.

Really relaxing and fun. I loved the way that the game made me think and figure out the puzzles on a 3d plane, almost as if I am sitting there tieing the objects myself.
