Battlefront, KOTOR and Jedi Knight are most certainly some of the best Star Wars games (as I'm typing i'm remembering all the others that were just so good as well). The best parts of this game are the very impressive missions that are all totally unique and the crazy good 'sword' combat that has unusally never been applied properly in another game since.

An excellent multiplayer game with a forgettable singleplayer campaign

I'll go more in-depth with the campaign below, but I'll summarize my overall impression of the game first. Buy it for the multiplayer. The campaign provides a short but fun couple of hours, though you probably won't remember it in a year. The multiplayer, however, provides a much more memorable experience. The dedicated, albeit small, playerbase is testament to that.

Okay, so the singleplayer. In terms of customization, Academy succeeds. You get to pick your species/gender/lightsaber from the start. Also, aside from the main narrative driving levels, you're free to pick or ignore missions at your leisure.

Unfortunately, no amount of visual flair breathes life into the main cast. Kyle Katarn and Luke Skywalker make their returns, but only sporadically. Instead, you plays as one of many new students at the Jedi Academy on Yavin 4. As interesting as that sounds, there just isn't a real spark to this game. The story plays out as another macguffin hunt and foiled attempt at resurrecting an ancient evil. The dialog is about as strong as the prequel trilogy's, in terms of tropes.

I could critique the narrative structure forever, but you get the point. So ignore it, and just have fun wielding a lightsaber and throwing force powers around. The spontaneous, awesome moments of fighting squads of stormtroopers, or groups of sith-wannabe's make up for any faults.

This game is a must have for any starwars enthusiast. The gameplay is good and the story line is more than enjoyable. This is a game for people who value skilled timed attacks and learning moves over button mashing and hoping for the best. I have played a few of the other starwars games but this is the best in my opinion. I much prefer the aproach of the force powers and move sets over that of say force unleashed. The movement is fluid, for a game of this time, and the story put you right in the middle of the starwarts universe. Definately recommend it.

Pay no attention to the time it says I spent on this game, I have logged well over 900 hours on jka. Its a classic for sure. While its up there in the years, it still has a fanbase and online servers with players on them. Game controls are fluid, fast pace, and epic. Tons of mods, ranging from building, rollplay, pvp, and just chilling. Its an online gamers wetdream, buy it today!

This game is.. Ok. It has goods, and it has bads. The graphics and animations are not good, but that is to be expected from a game as old as it, so I will not say any more on the subject. The ability to use force powers and lightsabers are awesome, and executed really well, making it feel quite realistic. However, the story of the game is lacking, almost feeling a bit tacked on, and the play time is only about 10 hours per play. It has good replay value though, not the best, but I have played it over many times, just because the combat is so fun to use. This game is good, and I do reccomend it, if you enjoy shooting people with lightning and cutting people in half. 7/10

If you are going to buy this game for the campaign, make sure you've played Jedi Outcast (Jedi Knight 2) first! If you're buying it for the multiplayer go right ahead. This game is a really good sequel and is just as good as the previous game. It's really worth buying JK2 first though!

One of the absolute best games ever made. The first open world of multiplayer to just be slashing and killing people with a lightsaber besides Jedi Outcast - another amazing game. By far my favorite Star Wars game. I wish they'd remake this game in new graphics. Seriously worth the buy and play. Check out my hours played. This game means buisness. ;)

Jedi Academy is an instant star wars game classic and is probably one of my favorites. It feels awesome going through the game as a student of Luke Skywalker and Kyle Katarn, who was the guy you played as in a couple of the previous installments. This game SWAMPS its predecessors in terms of game feel, combat, and customability. Getting your own personal lightsaber was really cool, but later in the game you get to change your fighting style (dual wield, double-bladed, etc.) when you become a jedi knight. Combat is really smooth and using your force powers feels nice. The story, as i should mention, is a great experience and has multiple endings which is a nice touch. I also feel as though i would be at fault if i did not mention the wonderous multiplayer which is really balanced, fun to play, and I have never felt that i had been cheated. This game deserves a 9/10 despite its graphics but there is no harm there considering it is a bit of an outdated game.

Totally worth the buy! :)

By far the best Star Wars game I've ever played. Being a jedi in this game is way more thrilling and exciting than any other SW game (Battlefront, Force Unleashed, etc). If you love the Star Wars universe then hurry up and buy this game!
