About This Game

Dead6hot (pronounced Dead-Shot) is a quirky little local multi-player shmup. Dead6hot is focused on fast paced shooting and a very frantic atmosphere. It can be played in short periods making it perfect for the short coffee breaks or whenever you feel like killing a few minutes (pun intended).

It takes place across 5 unique stages and 15 levels in total. You and your not so arch enemy each play as one of ten character choices while trying to kill each other or the hordes of minions. You get to wield five types of weapons in arena style combat. The last man standing wins!

Dead6hot features:
  • Four game modes
  • Single player versus an AI player or against hordes of minions
  • Local multiplayer versus each other or cooperative against the minions
  • Five stage settings, including underground, a pyramid, and a futuristic city
  • Each stage has three differently designed levels for single player vs. AI, multiplayer vs. each other, and the hordes of minions
  • Five weapon types including grenades, pistols, and machine guns
  • Ten delightful characters to choose from including Elfis Presley, Bathead, and the masked luchador El Pistolero

honestly this game is a clone of Super Crate Box. SCB is a free game on steam. this game has customization and not much to work with, i did however find it fun for the few minutes i played it for but this game just isnt worth $1. clearly a bunch of work went into this but just go play super crate box. ive wasted a few hours on that but if i could rate this i would be neutral because i dont hate it but i dont love it

If you liked "super crate box" you won't like this one.

Super crate box was fun, this is just worse than thrash..

On the bright side, I got it on discount, got the trading cards and made a few cents profit, it is like I got payed to play the game, but the pay wasn't good either.

"missing executable"
so your game will not start unless
you go into your PC files, and rename
Deadshot022916.exe to Deadshot122115.exe
or MAC users, rename to Deadshot020516 for os x (i can't confirm myself)

"Developer, have you seen this?
Live .exe's should not have version info in the file name.
Bad form."
"Ceobrie: [dev] I did not know that is how Steam operated. My apologies. @March 25th, 2016"

the game has launched on February 1st, and was doing this by February 7th (or sooner)
It is March 31st and it still requires you to rename your own file to play the game.

No thank you, "New Reality Games" , no thank you.

VERY BASIC GAME, this could be a nice couch coop/coop/multiplayer BUT:

  • Needs more weapons and grenades
  • Needs better Fx sound
  • Needs better animation when something hits you
  • Need better animation when the little strange aliens die
  • Needs better animation when you hit the strange aliens
  • Needs more wired little aliens to wreck
  • Needs more flexibility for the controls, i like to change them.
  • Needs Full controller support
  • Needs level editor and workshop support
  • Needs local-coop with 4 people (actually only 2)
  • Needs a way to exit the game without killing it in the task manager
  • Needs more....

But i paid this 0.66 cents so, to encourage the developer, tumbs up

This game is fun. Its good for time wasting and for a faced paced multiplayer game. A LOT like Duck Game.

Complaints: No online multiplayer.

Who looks at the video on the store page and thinks "Wow! Fast paced action! This game isn't even Early Access, but it should be if it's on Steam. There's a Leaderboards button and I was curious as to who else actually tried with the game. "Coming Soon" Oh, that's rich.

Wait, this looks like Super Crate Box. Hold on, lemme check...

I checked. The single player is almost *exactly* like Super Crate Box, which is free and much more fun. Hell, even the character designs are pretty much identical. The other game resolves a lot of complaints that reviews have. Bigger and unlockable weapon selection, better weapon sounds, faster animations, everything is there that this game is missing. If you want fast-paced, that's fast-paced. Much more than this, anyway. I guess the music in this game is somewhat better, but that's purely preference. Unfortunately, Super Crate Box doesn't have a local multiplayer. But you know what the developers of Super Crate Box DID make that has local Multiplayer and essentially is far better than this game?

Wow. This game is rather empty. "Rather" empty like Tilda Swinton is "rather" pale.

To point, I loaded the game up, picked my character (your selection of which is... fine, I guess) and loaded a stage against what I thought was a computer opponent.

My opponent did nothing. I tried other modes, choosing between the unclear "agro" and "split". No difference. I don't know.

I jumped a few times and shot it to death, while it took the many, many shots like a tetraplegic.

It takes a lot to kill anything in this game. Killing is a chore. An unsatisfying plonk, plonk, plonk, plonk, plonk with something like a nerf dart gun.

The controls work just fine, in use, but they are mapped absolutely bizarrely. You will have to look up how to shoot and toss a grenade. When should you not be able to guess where those functions are within 4 tries? I'm not going to spoil it for you.

I stood around for a bit, waiting for anything, and then started shooting tons of ammo at the enemies in the level, all with barely existent AI and animation. I don't think I even saw one change direction. If AI can be measured in IQ, the enemy things in this game have the IQ of yogurt. They just go.
On that note, maybe they're more like Go-Gurt. See that?

Jessica Chastain is pretty.

I grabbed a shotgun, and shot more of the things. And, it just... kept on like that. In single screen levels.

It makes some blippy sounds and then some blippy steps of dubbery, and such. It's annoying.

You can fall off the bottom of the screen, and you just roll back to the top. There's no fall damage. The left and right edges of the screen? Yep, same deal. You're just trapped in a loop. I tried to stand so that my body was split in half on each edge of the screen, and then I went to pee.

Visuals are... in color.

And, that's all there really is to it.

I kinda wonder if the title was supposed to be "Dead5hot" (cause that would read as 'deadshot' and all), but they just fat finger missed and never bothered to fix it.

Jessica Chastain is still enjoyable to look at.

Well Ill Start With The Negatives...

.No online
.Not enough weapons
.Not enough maps
and the minigun is broken...
But Now The Positives!

.Fun and fast paced
.Cheap as!
.Fun playing with games
.easy to learn hard to master
.VS splitscreen

I would rate it A 7 out of 10 worth a try and its only 79p so why not!
