Marooners is a fantastic party game that takes the usual style of gameplay and adds it’s own unique twist.

Early Access
Marooners is currently in an early access state but it seems like it's nearing full release. Everything plays really well (I think I encountered two bugs in my entire time of playing) and there is a nice amount of content (I am unsure if they plan to add more). In game there is also a handy banner telling you when the next update is due so you’re constantly aware of when to check back for new things and can know the developers are actively working on it.

General Gameplay
Marooners is an objective based party game that consists of many different minigames all with their own goals. Instead of choosing each minigame one by one though you'll find a unique twist to Marooners in which the game will switch between mini games randomly whilst you’re playing, saving where everyone was in that stage and reverting back to that randomly without warning.
There are many different minigames from ones where you’ll be running from a giant boulder whilst dodging objects to games where you’ll have to dig down as far and fast as you can avoiding unbreakable blocks on your way. In every game you’ll be competing against at least one opponent and you can play with five other people at any one time. Each minigame is unique and insanely fun!
You can find powerups in game such as a magnet to draw coins towards you, bombs to throw at your opponents and a speed boost for a few seconds all adding a minor advantage to your gameplay. They are dropped randomly in play so everyone has an equal chance to grab one...if they’re quick enough.
Throughout each minigame you’ll find yourself picking up coins and at the end all the coins are tallied up, the winner is whoever has collected the most across all of the minigames so even if you win the most minigames you still might just lose if someone else played it smarter. If you win a minigame though you have a chance to grab a trophy for 25 points meaning you are more likely to win if you are the sole survivor of each one!!!
To avoid repetitiveness in gameplay around half of the minigames are included in each rotation and they are completely randomized so it doesn’t feel like you’re ever playing the same two games twice.
After each full game is completed everyone who was playing will unlock a new cosmetic weapon or character for use in future plays. As I mentioned all the items and characters you can play as are superficial only and add no stat bonus or otherwise to your gameplay. I think this keeps things fair whilst still allowing you a great amount of customization. It also makes it easier for you to switch players or weapons without feeling like you are being penalized for liking one more than another.

Sound & Graphics
The graphics are really nice with a cartoony feel yet they don’t feel childish. Everything is vibrant without being too in your face. The soundtrack is pretty much what you’d expect from a party game but with a semi-tribal theme to it. Both work well in the game and give it that perfect party theme without feeling serious.

Pros
--- Great party minigames.
--- Online and Local play.
--- Ability to play Local and Online at the same time (up to 4 local and filled with online).
--- Up to 6 players (4 local + 2 online or up to 6 online).
--- 2 players per keyboard (optional).
--- Choice of characters & weapons to choose from (superficial only).
--- Cosmetic unlocks after each game for everyone, win or lose.

Cons
--- A few more mini-games wouldn’t hurt.
--- Not many players online at once currently.
--- No multipack on sale!!!!
--- When it’s just two players it feels like the minigames switch too fast.
--- No choice on how many minigames are included in each play.

Summary
Marooners is in early access still but seems very close to it’s full release. There are multiple minigames to keep you and your pals busy and the unique twist on the usual style of party games is great. Though there are not many players right now for online play if you have friends with the game or can play locally then Marooners is a great purchase. With active devs who listen to community feedback I can see this game reaching it’s full potential and being worth every cent.

Recently played this with a bunch of my friends and it was the most fun we've had in a game for a while.
The game is made up with an assortment of different minigames where the aim is to collect the most coins. However, this minigames cycle through and chance everyone 15seconds making the game play frantic and never stale. Had so much fun and i cant wait to play some more so i can shout at my friends some more.

For a preview of the game i will shamefully post my video here:

Marooners is a fast paced partygame that will put a smile on your face!

PROS:
- Easy to learn
- Constantly switching gamemodes makes losing trivial
- Being able to nick coins off your friends!

CONS:
- No chat communications between players

Once you install, hit play to play and the game takes it from there. A small instruction before each gamemode tells you all you need to know. After a short period of time the gamemode will switch, saving player positions and starting (or continuing) with another gamemode. About half a dozen different gamemodes per session will be played, picking up where you left off untill each mode is finished. The player with the most accumulated coins wins!

One gamemode will have you running on breaking ice while gusts of wind try push you into oblivion. Other times you will be dodging boulders while your friends throw bombs in your direction, or stealing a coin cannon from your friends.

All minigames are original games and have a fitting upbeat soundtrack.

There is already so much value in this Early Acces game, not to mention the realtime update countdown.

This game is definitely to be recommended!

Right now i was unable to try the game, i waited for maybe 10 minutes and there are no players that would join, i don't know if that's a server issue or people is just not playing the game, might ask the Dev for an extra copy of the game to try it with a friend.

The lack of a single player makes me think the dev was a bit lazy and was like "adding AI on the game will be a pain in the ♥♥♥, let's have real people playing it only", but they could have thought like: "let's focus on an multiplayer experience only to provide the best performance and quality" too.

I really want to play the game.

Will provide a review after trying the game.

Marooners is a fun cooperative game that pits up to six players against one another in some challenging but enjoyable mini games. Pick your character from two male or two female models but a wide assortment of colors allowing you to stand out from the rest as you struggle to be number one at the end. Collect as many coins, rubies and gems as you can without getting squished, burned, or blown up before time runs out to rain supreme above the competition.

Pros:

- A fun fast pace number of mini games that will keep you on your toes at all times
- A decent amount of variety that will keep every match uniquely different from one another no matter how many times you play.
- Beautiful cartoon graphics that get you in the mood to play and laugh with one another.
- Sounds and music that match the games and keep you coming back for more.

Cons:

- The keyboard controls are a bit hard to get used to and tend to be far less smooth then the controller counterpart, making for a bit of an unfair advantage to those with one.

In conclusion Marooners is a fun mini game all the family can enjoy as you pit friends and family against one another in a friendly and funny environment. 3.5 out of 5.

Introduction
Marooners is a Multiplayer game, which can be played either online with random people or if you have a friend you can play on the same keyboard. There isn't much to this game at the moment, as it's still in early access, so take that into consideration when reading this review.

Gameplay
This game is pretty much a bunch of party minigames mashed together to create a somewhat confusing and irritating the first few times you play through this. The mechanic of this game is rather unique for it's simplicity, but starting off with this it may seem a rather confusing jumble of minigames together. But after playing it a few times you start to understand what each minigame has to offer and what you actually have to do in order to win that minigame. The mechanic of this game works as follows, you are placed into a random minigame and off you go. You have about 25-30 seconds to try to get as many points on that minigame as you can until it goes to another minigame and you repeat the process. You will recycle through a few minigames, and be put back into the first minigame of where you where when you finished your first 30 seconds of the minigame. For the time being, the game lacks the amount of minigames that are avaialble but hopefully they will add more in future updates. The keyboard controls for local multiplayer aren't exactly the best, it was hard to play with another friend as it was rather cramped and hard to control. Needs the optition to change keyboard controls.

Pros
+ Unique mechanic
+ Local & Online Co-op
+ Full controller support

Cons
- Few minigames
- No optition to change keyboard controls
- At the moment no Achievements or Trading cards

Result / Final thoughts
For the time being, Marooners is a alright game, with a very unique and interesting mechanic. Although there isn't many minigames, the game does offer Local & Online multiplayer, along with full controller support. I feel like this game will be great in future updates, and when it eventually gets out of the Early Access stage.

Rating: 6.5/10 (EARLY ACCESS HANDICAP)

It's a really fun party game with little minigames similar to some of those you'd find in Mario Party. The point of each one is to get as much treasure as possible. There are 4 characters now (at the start of Early Access) with a variety of colors to choose from. It's still in development but plays great and the visuals are fantastic!

Basically how the game plays out is you play a minigame, but partway through it, you switch to another one. If you die in one minigame, you are out of that one but will still keep playing in the other ones. There will sometimes appear a really big treasure idol that's worth a ton so it's worth trying to get your hands on.

You can play Local, With Friends (this is how you can play with your buddies), and Online with other random people. The matches can be longer or quick but are usually around 5-10 minutes on average.

Overall, a ton of fun and easy to get into! Also the devs are awesome and very quick to respond to questions about the game! I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great family friendly party game for all ages! 10/10

For early access, this game is super fun, and has the promise of a lot of tweaks and new features to come. Chaotic and whacky, definitely a party game. I would definitely recommend using a controller, though.

Currently quite limited given its early access state but still relatively fun.

The game is basically a party game that throws together a bunch of minigames. Instead of playing each game through you have a set amount of game modes that you will randomly jump between (every 20-30 seconds or so). Progress is saved in each game mode so when you jump back to a previous one you will carry on from where you left off.

At first this mechanic was confusing and irritating, however I think it has potential to be fun. Either way I would be surprised if in future versions alternate game mdoes aren't available.

Some of the issues include poor balancing in one game mode, limited game modes and limited diversity of game modes (all of them are about collecting coins).

Usually these isues would not concern me in an early access however the Early Access FAQ says that it will only be in early access for “A few months max.” I expect we will see some balancing changes and maybe, at most twice as much content. The game, unfortunately, needs more work than this to reach its full potential.

That being said its still a reasonable game.

Played this at a friend last night during a party. Had a blast, the continuous switching of minigames really keeps you on the edge. Considering this game is in early access I really can't wait to see where this will go in the future. (PLEASE ADD MORE CHARACTERS THEYRE SO GREAT)
