mayhem, serious, serious sam, serious jokes, the legendary kamikaze and their yell that is drilled into your brain after playing it, gnarrs, frecking kleers, cheap enemy placements like on top of the building, power ups (come get a taste of some serious fire power), amazing cathedral show down, hate going backwards, huge numbers of the mental hord army, phone booth, Polish castles, tense and serious fights, kicking a**, getting your a** kicked, serious christmas, and samta don't forget to shoot him to get a present (not santa, but samta, don't get fooled by his santa suit and and his white beard, its sam).
I think I summed up the few things that made the second enounter special.

Personal rating: 9/10

PROS:
+ fun & crazy gameplay
+ big variety of funky weapons
+ blasting/shooting down huge hordes of enemies
+ a ton of secrets to be found
+ epic boss fights
+ soundtrack
+ awesome co-op
+ entertaining multiplayer

CONS:
- older graphics
- occassional network issues in mulitplayer
- ridiculously hard in Singleplayer

Comment:
This game is all about big dumb fun. This game is about taking a break from the serious games of the 21st century and enjoying something else. This game is about blasting hordes of monsters while an awesome soundtrack blasts in the background! As it happens this was my first Serious Sam game and also my very first multiplayer game. I remember how I played this with my friend during many nights and we loved it. It does have it's flaws but Serious Sam has clearly been made for enjoyment and that it delivers. Singleplayer is a bit hard but that does not matter much as this game was MADE for co-op. Disregard the time shown here, I played this for over 200 hours in total and loved every moment.

Harder than TFE and about twice as long. This is what DLC used to look like, when Developers actually put effort into expansion packs. Like TFE you'll get your ♥♥♥ kicked over and over but you're gonna love every minute of it. For its price, this is great value. And it has co-op too!

Buy Revolution, it comes with both First and Second encounter for free.

Serious Sniping. Not as enjoyable as First Encounter. New weapons and enemies in the game don't contribute much to the experience and in the case of the Sniper Rifle actually heavily detract from what the player has come to expect from the series after playing First Encounter. Not recommended as your first Serious Sam game, introduces things at a much faster pace than First Encounter and the difficulty is higher.

~ For both 1st and 2nd Encounter ~

These are classic "blow up everything" coming at you games. The game is fun, more so if you find people to play with. Only pick it up if you like old games.
