What is COCOBOY?

In an alternate history 2005, the forgotten 80's platformer COCOBOY has re-entered the public consciousness of a niche few.

Modify, brute force, and restore unused game mechanics using Modcarts, devices hacked together by tech-savvy fans. Discover clever combinations of mods in order to progress and even break level design in unexpected ways.

Immerse in a new and peculiar fandom through browsing an online forum. Check back as you play to find a community growing in real-time, where you can browse discussion threads for game tips, hints, rumors, theories, and arguments.

Collect rare promotional merchandise from online resellers. Decorate your room by spending coins you collect throughout the game's levels.

Development History

A prototype version was original developed in one week for Vinesauce's Shroomjam 2024. After seeing how much the original game resonated with folks, we decided to keep going and make COCOBOY a full experience.
