What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We chose Early Access for a number of reasons. Most notably it gives us the opportunity to develop the game alongside our community.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“At present we have no exact timeframe for the duration of early access. As long as it can benefit the development of the game we will keep it open to the public.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Currently the Early Access version consists of a PvP mode with various different options of matches. In the final version of the game there will be not only a lot more content but two other game modes, the next to come will be the highly anticipaited Freeplay (PvE) mode.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Currently the Early Access version is in open-beta of the PvP game mode, featuring 3 play modes: Team Deathmatch, Research and Battery Retrieval.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Currently you can play the game for free and we plan on keeping that approach with the final release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We regularly interact with our player base on our official forums and here on steam. Discussing our plans for the game and even incorporating some suggestions put forward by you, the players.”

“We’ve all fallen hopelessly in love with ruined wastelands before, but this really is exceptional.”

“It's twitchy, but as shooters go it has a tactical, methodical pace. As it evolves, the team plans to expand on that formula to include cooperative, and perhaps even single player modes.”

“The short, sharp combat is a thrill to experience, the atmosphere is thick with violence and the world looks beautiful. This isn’t just combat – it’s about hunting down humans and surviving in a brutalist landscape.”

So im changing my review this time, im sorry but I have to admit it, this game sucks ♥♥♥, after playing some multiplayer matches I have to say that this game is just wrong, I gave it a positive review before but that is because I wasn’t playing a broken unbalanced game then.

Now I have more than one reason as to why this game is just a failure, let me go over with them.
Survarium has some decent points and there are some good things about it, but honestly this game is actually just a fail.

- Interesting factions
- Nice detailed weapons
- Awesome armour models.
- Very nice graphics
- Detailed interesting maps

The factions are really neat, it’s a shame that it had to be wasted on a multiplayer PvP game, great job Developers.

The weapons are great, nice textures, nice weapon models, it looks fantastic, but yet again, shame that it had to be wasted.

The one thing that I love in this game are the armour models, the armour models are superbly well detailed and fit the post-apocalyptic setting of game very well, you have Hazmat Suits with Russian gas masks, you have firefighter suits, you have skull masks and all of that amazing stuff out there for you to see, but yet again, you won’t be able to use it since it is actually impossible to level up and get the gear, and because there is a ton of grinding to do, you be better off ripping the armours and putting them into Fallout 3, New Vegas or 4 to be perfectly honest.

And now the cons, and oh boy there is a ton of them, so let’s get started shall we?

- Unbalanced weapons
- Unbalanced teams
- Players who pay more are apparently better
- No singleplayer
- A ton of grinding
- Developers don’t listen to the community
- Broken bot AI

1 - This game has such horribly unbalanced weapons, apparently a AK-47 is less powerful than a SMG, apparently shotguns are the new sniper rifles, apparently a supressed sniper rifle which is meant to reduce damage will kill you from full health with a shot to the knee, yea no thanks, tell me how is a shotgun which is meant to be a close quarter’s weapon is able to kill you in two shots from 20 meters? I have no clue, and the Developers are not giving a crap about this, a suppressor on a Sniper rifle is meant to reduce your damage somehow I am shot in the foot and I go from full health to zero, and about SMG’s, they are meant to be close quarter automatic weapons yet I am shot with one and killed in seconds from a distance of 30 meters, broken as ♥♥♥♥.

2 - The teams in this game are also horribly balanced, tell me how this is fair? I a level tier 3 character, and my entire team is also tier 1 to 3, but the enemy team is somehow magically tier ♥♥♥♥ing 7 to 10, yea totally fair, put a bunch of new players with crappy weapons against a team who has access to weapons like the AK12, Scar-H and a AS Val, super well balanced. (Not)

3 - This game has a feature that if anyone who pays more is instantly the best player in the Developers eyes, yea because someone who payed £5 or £8 should have an advantage over new players who have not played this game, also this brings me back to point 2.

4 – This was meant to be the next Stalker game, a sequel, a totally new game, instead of making this a fantastic possible singleplayer open world game, with unique factions, detailed weapons, amazing armour models, beautiful visuals, they instead wasted all of this creativity on a free to play multiplayer game which is broken as hell. Oh and the so called PvE or free play is never coming, don’t get your hopes up.

5 – Once you reach tier 3 of any factions, that is when the grinding starts, while it may not seem that bad, like only 3000 points for tier 4 man that sounds easy, yea if it actually was, because no matter how many kills you get, no matter how many objectives you capture, no matter how much points you get, you will still always earn 100 to 200 points per game, how do I earn more you ask? Here is your solution.

A ♥♥♥♥ing premium account is what you ♥♥♥♥ing need, and there is not even an option for a permeant account, no no no no sir, there is only a certain amount of time membership like this is ♥♥♥♥ing ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥s.

6 – The Developers are horrible, I heard from people and even seen it about how many people complained about certain features on the forums, guess what the Developers do? They ban those people, yop, you heard right, they ban members who complain about things like broken unbalanced weapons, long ♥♥♥ waiting time and etc:
What an amazing Developer team you know? Ban members who complain about features that need fixing but nooooo nooooo noooooo because you know premium content and overprized DLC is more important than the health of the game.

7 – With the recent update that brought bots into the game it seemed like a good idea, play against bots in case you can’t play the game online because of the certain points I listed on top, but the problem is that you don’t earn XP or points when playing, it’s the one ♥♥♥♥ing thing they could of have done when adding them, since the online is already broken as ♥♥♥♥, but nope, they didn’t.

You won’t even play a game with bots normally either though, why do I say that? Bots are bots, they are not meant to be gods, they are meant to be stupid which will grant you easy kills and will give you a fun time, just get a Sniper forget about the SMG and the shotguns or anything else, because once you get a SMG or a Shotgun they will instantly lock on to you like they are a Terminator and legit wall hack and aim bot you through the wall before you even have time to react, how is that okay? I was hoping that once they add bots into the game it would at least become something okay you know, but they can’t even do this right.

In short this game sucks donkey ♥♥♥, and I don’t see this game surviving any longer, barely any people play this anymore and within a few weeks or months this game will be dead, the free play that the developers promised us will never happen because they are ♥♥♥♥♥ and liars. That is Survarium for you.

Survarium is a post-apocalyptic FPS with RPG elements and character progression.

You have a level, and a faction level (I will get to that later). Per normal level up you gainone experience poin that you can put into the currently 3 skilltrees that determin your weapon handling, your thoughness and your knowledge and resistence to anomalys (yes, similar to the ones in S.T.A.L.K.E.R (I will get to them later)).

Ok, now to the factions:

The game has a progression system that revolvs around 4 factions. The Scavengers, that are the hunter/sniper faction with mashine pistols, compact rifles and sniper rifles, but only with light to medium armor(your gear won´t take a lot of hits, but you are faster so be sneaky).

The Black Market, that are short range badasses in leather with a gang/biker vibe (they have quite good armors and shotguns so go guns blazing). The Renessaince Army, your every day tanks with big armor and gunz (you can´t do much wrong here, just be a though mid range guy).

The Fringe Settlers, the shaman/nature people that have almost everything, from mp´s over shotguns and the GLORIOUS VSSK "Vikhlop". They use anomalys and anomaly resistant gear to be able to use both in a way the other factions can´t (having an extraordinaire amount of anomalies that enhance your stats, or can be thrown like a grenade, their armors can also grant almost or even complete imunity to anomalies).

Ok, now that we covered the factions, we can move on to the price model this game has:

This game is not pay2win. It is pay2skip, since all weapons (ecxept the Barrett, but that should get fixed) are the same one that you can grind. The only diffrence is, that the "premium" weapons have camos and all attachments unlocked.

So you can enjoy every facette of this game without spending money on it.

For the hackers: in the lates patch (0.44) Battle-eye was introduced, so there should be no more hackers around.

Now to Free-Play, the thing that everyone at least asked once about (that´s not a bad thing):

The developers said, that they will start working on Free-Play once PvP is finished:

I hope you found this "small" review helpful, if not... well... there are many more so go read them. If you liked it and/or found it helpful... great, glad I could help.

Now go and... do whatever glorious and honourable thing you where going to do anyway after reading this post...

Have fun :D

I've played this game for 3 years now and I still enjoy the game it my go to game for just getting away from other games like ARMA for instence and if you can look past some bugs here and their you would enjoy this game too. It is build by some of the guys that worked on the games series STLAKER and you get that feel in this game too but its an PVP game and yes the dev team is hard at work with an PVE side as well but till then we could enjoy leveling up in PVP matches.

Everyone that is having graphics issues, drop the quality in the settings and it fixes it.

Fun game, pity about the p2w platform though.

Just started playing and it's not bad... but, the bots could be nerfed, a lot. I only think that true fps players would like this game, I thought it would have been easier with less controls but, it's not.

Well my first couple hours have been a blast. I'm a huge fan of the Stalker/Metro series and Survarium holds up to the same standard of immersion. I've had a couple crashes and some textures are downright ugly at the moment. That said, I'm optimistic that with some polishing it'll be great.

Don't look for Stalker 2 here.

About the game, I've been disappointed of progress in superficial stuff versus new game modes etc (incl free mode).

I can understand developpers need money but they had time to deliver for some years now, and I give up this game until its fully developped - probably around 2020.

In beta, but fast paced and trilling. Graphics are simular to stalker - extremely atmospheric.

Downsides are that matches only last 15m, with no option to extend on a vote and we're all waiting for the stalker style freeplay maps.

But already its an amazing addictive game.

If you are a masochist and like to self-harm, definitely try this game!

This game really does have a nice post apocalyptic atmosphere, that draws you in and makes you want to play it, but at the same time the flawed matchmaking, game mechanics and hackers are so infuruating, that it will leave you fuming every few minutes, wanting to pull your hair out and bend your LCD monitor in half.

The flawed mechanics is that the PvP matches that the game revolves aroud are based on your faction level, respectively your equipment BASE level, but far more important is how UPGRADED that equipment is, which results in completely unbalanced and frustrating PvP games!

So in each match there are 1-3 people with maxed out equipment, assault rifles with optics, suppresor/silencer, maxed out parameters like firing rate, recoil, armour penetration, reload time, etc, that run around and maw down people that have no way of fighting back. You just die not knowing where it came from. Then you see on the replay that some guy one-two shot you from 50 meters with optics whithout you having a chance to see or hear anything. Even if you are sneaking around and manage to get in someone's back, your chance to kill them is minimal, becasue of your mserable basic weapon not being able to penetrate their maxed out armour, so they just turn around and finish you off with one or two shots, while you've only managed to deal 20% damage with 5 shots.

The only way to get your equipment to their level is to put yourself through many many frustrating games, where the norm is you duying every 30 sec and from time to time killing some other unupgraded guy like yourself.

Then you max out your weapon and become a sadist mowing down helpless people for a while, until you have to move up in level and go back to basic equipment and the frustration starts again. There is just no point to go through this PAIN.

this is actually a reallygood, competitive, free fps. i say free because you can choose not to buy stuff.....premium gear does not make the game any more or less playable, its just an option for those that want it and plus the company has to make some moeny somehow.....either way though this game is great. my favorite fps
