The future of Prism Studios and our next game!

Hey everyone!

We're incredibly excited to announce that we've made the leap from mod team to an indie studio!
Recently we've started to work on our first brand new game!

The game is called DR01D!

DR01D is a VR first person puzzle game with a strong narrative, based around solving puzzles simultaneously alongside robot companions who you direct about the map to help you complete tasks, retrieve objects etc. The game takes place in the future, you are part of an advanced AI tasked with fixing your space station after it suffered damage during a meteor storm that has wiped out life on Earth. You will do training puzzles before going down to and fix the station. We're still very early in production so we don't have too many more details to share with you!

We did an interview with Games NI, where you can get a bit more information about DR01D and the team:

About This Game

Portal Stories: Mel is a community made, free modification for Portal 2 based in the Portal universe.
It tells the story of Mel, who meets a new personality core and faces an undiscovered threat to the Aperture facility.

1952, in the early years of Aperture: Science Innovators, Cave Johnson’s scientists experimented with whatever they wanted. Not everything worked as it should have though, but that wasn't going to get in the way of the progress of Science! Mel unfortunately took part in a faulty test called the Aperture: Science Innovators Short-Term Relaxation Vault, falling asleep for years. When she finally wakes, there is a fake Cave Johnson telling her she needs to escape the facility and a new device called the Aperture Handheld Portal Device, her mind races with questions. “Who is this imposter Cave Johnson?” “What happened to the facility and its staff?”

"What happened to me?"

This game is AMAZING!!! This feels like a real game Valve would create, and this was made by a small team! It connects yo the main games perfectly, and I would love if this was canon.

A beautiful mod made by some truly decicated fans, but not without faults. The voice acting, while very well done, can seem a bit unecessary at times. There were a few moments (especially in the last fight) where Virgil started getting on my nerves, nagging me to do something I was already scrambling to do.
That being said, well done. The puzzles were all rewardingly challenging and creative, using features and ideas I had never seen before or thought of. The environments were spectacular, putting the overgrown dystopia aesthetic to its full potential.
I loved this experience; it may be off putting that the game itself doesn't feel like something Valve would put out, especially with the name "Portal," but its character and the passion its creators put into it serve it well.
Well worth your time.

I'm amazed that this just exists as a free mod, and wish I'd paid attention to it earlier. Fits well into the lore, has a good story with great dialogue, and unique gameplay. Not to mention the puzzles are really well done. Tricky, without being insane.
The artwork is spot-on as is the music.

One nitpick: Cave Johnson's voice. It sounds off, and you're probably going to notice it. I found it somewhat annoying. However, once you get past the beginning of the game you don't really hear it anymore. The voice acting overall is great, that one just doesn't sound like Cave.

The concluding dialogue and cinematics really won me over. I'd recommend it to anyone who enjoyed Portal 2.

This game nailed it. It took me right back to the Aperture testing facilities and immersed me back in the intense story.

I'm so impressed with the work of these developers I would happily pay them for their incredibley dedicated work. In fact that is the only thing missing really. A deluxe option, so I could buy some extras and effectively make some sort of donation to their work.

Well done
