We're Back!

If you haven't heard yet, we've started up the Wild Warfare machine again. Wild Warfare is now going to be developed by Brian, one of the new programmers here at Hyper Hippo.

Since joining, Brian has already made a few tweaks to test out some improvements:

Balance:

-Engineer double jump force reduced by 25%
-Heavy first person view moved so that you can more precisely shoot over ledges and around corners without having to step too close to the edge that you might fall off.
-All Triggers for detecting when a user walks onto a jump pad, a powerup, or falls into lava, are enlarged to make it easier to trigger them.

UI:

-New Chat UI while in a match.
-Changed Keys for Opening Chat UI.
[Enter] - will default to all chat in free for all game modes, and team chat in team based modes like Capture the Flag.
[LeftShift+Enter] - If in a team based mode, will open for all chat.
-Chat UI moved closer to center of screen to make communicating easier for people with larger screens.
-Chat UI will only stay up for 5 seconds after receiving a message or typing one. Removing clutter from the screen.
-New Style should make it easier to read messages while removing background art for the panel so less obstructive.

Bug Fixes:

-Fixed a bug that caused the user to be stuck in chat mode without a chat window open if they had been typing in chat when a match ended and a new map was loaded.
-Fixed hole in the red side of CTF_Gulch.

We're going to be trying out a ton of new things, and live testings as much as we possible can. Please be sure to share your feedback, and send us any other suggestions, bugs or feedback that you may have. We always appreciate hearing from you!

Wild Warfare - What's Next?

Dear Supporters of Wild Warfare,

It has been a little while since we last updated everyone, so we thought it was due time to let you all know what is going on in the world of Wild Warfare.

Since launching on Steam Greenlight, we've received a ton of great feedback, ranging from unit and item suggestions, to bug and troubleshooting information. We've also been able to launch 2 new maps, along with alternate game modes; Capture the Snail and Swarm. That brings us to the inevitable next question; what's next?

For the time being, we honestly don't know. As a small studio, we have to be careful with managing our time, as we currently have other live projects that require most, if not all of our resources. Based on that, we are currently unable to prioritize developing Wild Warfare further until we can afford to spend the time the game deserves. As you can imagine, developing a First Person Shooter is extremely time consuming, and until we find someone who can dedicate all of their time to developing the game, we're putting a pause on Wild Warfare.

The good news is that we are actively searching for that special someone, and you will all be the first to know when they arrive. In the meantime, please keep sending us your ideas, bug reports, and overall feedback with what you'd like to see within Wild Warfare. We are still going to have online meet ups, and we'd still love to talk with you about anything Wild Warfare related.

Wild Warfare is a free-to-play, class and vehicle-based FPS, starring a colourful cast of critter mercs. Inspired by old school shooters, it seeks to capture the fun and fur-ious action of classic era multiplayer games. There ain't no regenerating health or quick-scoping here.

Wild Warfare is currently in Alpha. If you enjoy classic arcade action with well balanced gameplay, crazy characters, and bears with mini-guns, this is exactly that game.

Wild Warfare features:

  • Hats!
  • Class-based combat - nimble rabbits with bludgeoning weapons, raccoons with assault rifles, and more on the way!
  • Vehicle combat - Armoured Walkers transform the battlefield instantly. Air to Surface combat coming soon-ish!
  • Customizable avatars - deck out your character with warpaint and hats!
  • A bunch of game modes (Capture the Flag, Team Death Match, etc) with lots more coming. Prepare for Swarm Mode!
  • Ranking and levelling up - earn your infamy!
  • More of everything! This Alpha only scratches the surface of what's in store!

recomiendo este juego, pero antes de mirar el tiempo que he jugado quiero decirte que las partidas son extremadamente cortas y puedes probar todo en una sola y descubrir la mecanica de todo en casi nada, y ahora, comenzemos
jugabilidad: 7/10, mejorable y con algunos bugs, pero bastante buena en comparacion con algun otro shooter
gráficos: 5/10 me gustan, pero son como muy de dibujos, pero no estan mal del todo
modos de juego: 3/10 un único modo de juego, bastante raro y difícil de comprender teniendo en cuenta que no hay ni tutorial
diversion: 8/10 dentro de lo que cabe te lo pasas bien, vale que no jugaras demasiadas horas, vale que no habran e-games de wild warfare, pero te lo pasas bien hechando unos disparos en un juego senzillo, pero bueno, como puede ser este, solo dispara, no es complejo, esos si, solo te he de decir que has de cojer un caracol para ganar puntos, creo XD

Big fan of wild warfare, playing for a few months now, a bunch of furry critters shooting lasers and clubbing with each other with wrenches? What's not to love? Lots of updates and big plans from what they've released, looks like a promising future for a fun FPS.

Don't let the cute animals fool you thinking this is some game meant for 4 year olds, it's actually a very fun and addicting game! I have been playing the alpha version of this game since it launched it December 2013, and the game keeps on getting better and better! The items in this game are awesome. Ever wanted a living snail as a backpack? Now you can! Snail Hunter and Capture the Flag are my two favorite modes in the game currently.


If you are debating whether or not to buy it, I highly recommend it.

fun little Team Fortress clone with Animals, sadly though i don't expect it to be alive for long since Team Fortress is a much better game and both are free.
would recommend trying it before it dies.

I been playing Wild Warfare since it first came out under a different name. I have one word for this game. Addictive. Oh, and fun. So I guess it's two words... Anyways, the game is very simple to understand and very classy for a FPS. Right now, the game features 3 classes. Striker, Engineer, and the Heavy. My favorite class as of right now is the Engineer.

The Engineer has the ability to double jump, as well as move very quickly. The Engineer attacks with a monkey wrench, which does a ton of damage. The game also features Vehicles. The one vehicle that is available right now, is the Raptor. When you are controlling it, you have the ability to fire rockets which does massive damage. In all, Wild Warfare is a fantastic little game that is just getting started. With more maps, classes, items, vehicles, modes, and MORE on the way, this game is definitely worth the price of $7.

i dont really think this game works, and doesnt really have alot of things to do or to customize. here are some of the problems with the game.

1.) (i dont know if it is me or what) when playing a game, you'll suddenly get kicked out of a game, even if your number 1 in that lobby, you'll get kicked, and wont gain XP when you can ride a vehical at lvl 5. but you'll get kicked out and will never get a single expericene point...
2.) collecting items on the map, just goes to customizeing your character you might use, but thats just it as far as customizeing your character.
3.) only 3 game modes, and three characters, and the Solider is very over power, with the Heavy oddly being the most worthless character to play as. did i mention it borrows from TF2. with the Solider having Unlimited Ammo. and the engineer having nothing but a wrench, but iv seen other plays go Ham and Cheese with Engineer.
4.) if it hasnt been said once, then it'll be said again, it is an empty game, with hardly anyone online on the servers with about a lobby open with barely any players.

i wouldnt really recommend the game, until the game can get itself fixed and can get its own id, because i feel like its a TF2 clone, but replaced with furrys. not that there is anything wrong with furrys, i am one (just not the ones who take it a step further) but it is not a good game to be playing, until they can fix what is wrong with the game, then this is not a recommended game to be playing. dispite the game getting postive reviews its not recommended

Wild Warfare is probably one of the most fun shooters I have played in a long time. Despite the cartoony graphics (which actually look pretty nice) and animal characters, this isn't just a game for little kids (in fact, alot of the community seems fairly mature). I have been playing WW for a while now and it is well worth the download.

The gameplay is decently fast paced, although the gameplay speeds up and slows down based on which map you are playing. Even though the maps are few, the different gameplay styles you need to use for each of them provides a satisfying variety, even at this early development stage. I have heard complaints about how the guns fire slow projectiles and how that slows down the pace, but I personally don't think this needs changed. I like games that require some degree of skill, and hitting someone with one of those slow projectile-firing guns is difficult, especially at a distance. It is very satisfying to hit your target(s) in this game. All of the classes seem extremely well balanced.

The music is nice, but it tends to get slightly repetitive, especially in a long game of CTF. Maybe it would work to have multiple tracks per level, and play them consecutively. The visuals, although lacking technically, are extremely good artstyle-wise.

My main complaint about this game is that its buggy. Really buggy. It works fairly well most of the time, but joining servers can be so laggy that you need to use task manager to restart the game.

I am also hoping that this game won't end up being P2W. I hope the microtransactions will only involve cosmetic items and similar things that don't affect gameplay too much. Selling gameplay-affecting items would really drive players away, and what this game really needs is a larger playerbase.

Steam Community Market would definitely be a good fit for this game. I am hoping the developers will introduce this, but I also understand that it is alot of work, and wouldn't make the game any less enjoyable without it.

There are some things that aren't very polished about this game, but overall its a solid, no-nonsense, skill based FPS that is absolutely great to play. Keep in mind, though, it IS Early Access. I would definitely recommend this game and I would encourage anyone curious to give it a try. After all, it's free.
