Wild Warfare is a F2P, multiplayer FPS made for players that enjoy fun and/or being a bear. It's a mix of crazy game modes, balanced classes, simple controls and intense matches. Its got vehicle combat, because why not? You can even be a bunny that clubs people with a wrench, lucky you.

Hva utviklerne sier:

Hvorfor Early Access?

“Early Access is the perfect opportunity to have our community test the game, with the expectation that there will be bugs. It's also a great opportunity for players to provide useful feedback before the code base is complete. We want to add community-requested and voted features before the full launch.”

Hvor lenge antas det at dette spillet vil være i Early Access?

“Wild Warfare will likely remain in Early Access for most of 2014. At this point, no official release date for the full version of the game is confirmed.”

Hvordan er det planlagt at fullversjonen vil være forskjellig fra Early Access-versjonen?

“The full version of Wild Warfare will include additional: Maps, game modes, classes, vehicles, music and sfx, items, upgrades, and micro-transactions. There will also be a certain level of inherent UI updates and polish to all of the above components and VFX.”

Hva er nåværende tilstand på Early Access-versjonen?

“Wild Warfare is currently in an alpha state. The game is functional and stable, however it is not feature complete. We intend to move through a beta period starting in September 2014. We want to be up front with our players that this game is not complete and will remain in Early Access until it is complete.”

Vil spillet være priset annerledes under og etter Early Access?

“The value of the game, it's long term costs, and ease of access will all be balanced to determine it's price point. At this time, it's tough to speculate, but given that it's in an alpha state, there will likely be monetization model tweaks by the time the full product launches. Keep in mind this is an F2P game right now, so additional for-purchase content will be added to the game over time.”

Hvordan planlegger dere å involvere samfunnet i utviklingsprosessen?

“We develop and launch content iteratively, so the community can expect to test new content often throughout this phase. We would love to receive bug reports, feature requests and balancing suggestions as we go. We are ultimately trying to create an inclusive experience and we are building this game for you! Tell us what you think! We assure you we are listening and will react accordingly.”

We're Back!

If you haven't heard yet, we've started up the Wild Warfare machine again. Wild Warfare is now going to be developed by Brian, one of the new programmers here at Hyper Hippo.

Since joining, Brian has already made a few tweaks to test out some improvements:

-Engineer double jump force reduced by 25%
-Heavy first person view moved so that you can more precisely shoot over ledges and around corners without having to step too close to the edge that you might fall off.
-All Triggers for detecting when a user walks onto a jump pad, a powerup, or falls into lava, are enlarged to make it easier to trigger them.

-New Chat UI while in a match.
-Changed Keys for Opening Chat UI.
[Enter] - will default to all chat in free for all game modes, and team chat in team based modes like Capture the Flag.
[LeftShift+Enter] - If in a team based mode, will open for all chat.
-Chat UI moved closer to center of screen to make communicating easier for people with larger screens.
-Chat UI will only stay up for 5 seconds after receiving a message or typing one. Removing clutter from the screen.
-New Style should make it easier to read messages while removing background art for the panel so less obstructive.

Bug Fixes:

-Fixed a bug that caused the user to be stuck in chat mode without a chat window open if they had been typing in chat when a match ended and a new map was loaded.
-Fixed hole in the red side of CTF_Gulch.

We're going to be trying out a ton of new things, and live testings as much as we possible can. Please be sure to share your feedback, and send us any other suggestions, bugs or feedback that you may have. We always appreciate hearing from you!

Wild Warfare - What's Next?

Dear Supporters of Wild Warfare,

It has been a little while since we last updated everyone, so we thought it was due time to let you all know what is going on in the world of Wild Warfare.

Since launching on Steam Greenlight, we've received a ton of great feedback, ranging from unit and item suggestions, to bug and troubleshooting information. We've also been able to launch 2 new maps, along with alternate game modes; Capture the Snail and Swarm. That brings us to the inevitable next question; what's next?

For the time being, we honestly don't know. As a small studio, we have to be careful with managing our time, as we currently have other live projects that require most, if not all of our resources. Based on that, we are currently unable to prioritize developing Wild Warfare further until we can afford to spend the time the game deserves. As you can imagine, developing a First Person Shooter is extremely time consuming, and until we find someone who can dedicate all of their time to developing the game, we're putting a pause on Wild Warfare.

The good news is that we are actively searching for that special someone, and you will all be the first to know when they arrive. In the meantime, please keep sending us your ideas, bug reports, and overall feedback with what you'd like to see within Wild Warfare. We are still going to have online meet ups, and we'd still love to talk with you about anything Wild Warfare related.

Thanks for your continued support, and please feel free to comment or write in to wildwarfare@Hyperhippo.ca if you have any questions.

Take care,

The Wild Warfare Team

Om dette spillet

Survival of the fittest: now with guns.

Wild Warfare is a free-to-play, class and vehicle-based FPS, starring a colourful cast of critter mercs. Inspired by old school shooters, it seeks to capture the fun and fur-ious action of classic era multiplayer games. There ain't no regenerating health or quick-scoping here.

Wild Warfare is currently in Alpha. If you enjoy classic arcade action with well balanced gameplay, crazy characters, and bears with mini-guns, this is exactly that game.

Wild Warfare features:

  • Hats!
  • Class-based combat - nimble rabbits with bludgeoning weapons, raccoons with assault rifles, and more on the way!
  • Vehicle combat - Armoured Walkers transform the battlefield instantly. Air to Surface combat coming soon-ish!
  • Customizable avatars - deck out your character with warpaint and hats!
  • A bunch of game modes (Capture the Flag, Team Death Match, etc) with lots more coming. Prepare for Swarm Mode!
  • Ranking and levelling up - earn your infamy!
  • More of everything! This Alpha only scratches the surface of what's in store!
  • Hats!

No animals were harmed in the making of this game. But we encourage you to pick up the slack.

Big fan of wild warfare, playing for a few months now, a bunch of furry critters shooting lasers and clubbing with each other with wrenches? What's not to love? Lots of updates and big plans from what they've released, looks like a promising future for a fun FPS.

Don't let the cute animals fool you thinking this is some game meant for 4 year olds, it's actually a very fun and addicting game! I have been playing the alpha version of this game since it launched it December 2013, and the game keeps on getting better and better! The items in this game are awesome. Ever wanted a living snail as a backpack? Now you can! Snail Hunter and Capture the Flag are my two favorite modes in the game currently.

If you are debating whether or not to buy it, I highly recommend it.

fun little Team Fortress clone with Animals, sadly though i don't expect it to be alive for long since Team Fortress is a much better game and both are free.
would recommend trying it before it dies.

I been playing Wild Warfare since it first came out under a different name. I have one word for this game. Addictive. Oh, and fun. So I guess it's two words... Anyways, the game is very simple to understand and very classy for a FPS. Right now, the game features 3 classes. Striker, Engineer, and the Heavy. My favorite class as of right now is the Engineer.

The Engineer has the ability to double jump, as well as move very quickly. The Engineer attacks with a monkey wrench, which does a ton of damage. The game also features Vehicles. The one vehicle that is available right now, is the Raptor. When you are controlling it, you have the ability to fire rockets which does massive damage. In all, Wild Warfare is a fantastic little game that is just getting started. With more maps, classes, items, vehicles, modes, and MORE on the way, this game is definitely worth the price of $7.

Fight. Focus. Win. How long will YOU last in the Wild?

This game is extremely fun and addictive! I would definitely consider supporting the devs by purchasing it in early access, as it is non-buggy and great to play with friends.

i dont really think this game works, and doesnt really have alot of things to do or to customize. here are some of the problems with the game.

1.) (i dont know if it is me or what) when playing a game, you'll suddenly get kicked out of a game, even if your number 1 in that lobby, you'll get kicked, and wont gain XP when you can ride a vehical at lvl 5. but you'll get kicked out and will never get a single expericene point...
2.) collecting items on the map, just goes to customizeing your character you might use, but thats just it as far as customizeing your character.
3.) only 3 game modes, and three characters, and the Solider is very over power, with the Heavy oddly being the most worthless character to play as. did i mention it borrows from TF2. with the Solider having Unlimited Ammo. and the engineer having nothing but a wrench, but iv seen other plays go Ham and Cheese with Engineer.
4.) if it hasnt been said once, then it'll be said again, it is an empty game, with hardly anyone online on the servers with about a lobby open with barely any players.

i wouldnt really recommend the game, until the game can get itself fixed and can get its own id, because i feel like its a TF2 clone, but replaced with furrys. not that there is anything wrong with furrys, i am one (just not the ones who take it a step further) but it is not a good game to be playing, until they can fix what is wrong with the game, then this is not a recommended game to be playing. dispite the game getting postive reviews its not recommended

Wild Warfare is probably one of the most fun shooters I have played in a long time. Despite the cartoony graphics (which actually look pretty nice) and animal characters, this isn't just a game for little kids (in fact, alot of the community seems fairly mature). I have been playing WW for a while now and it is well worth the download.

The gameplay is decently fast paced, although the gameplay speeds up and slows down based on which map you are playing. Even though the maps are few, the different gameplay styles you need to use for each of them provides a satisfying variety, even at this early development stage. I have heard complaints about how the guns fire slow projectiles and how that slows down the pace, but I personally don't think this needs changed. I like games that require some degree of skill, and hitting someone with one of those slow projectile-firing guns is difficult, especially at a distance. It is very satisfying to hit your target(s) in this game. All of the classes seem extremely well balanced.

The music is nice, but it tends to get slightly repetitive, especially in a long game of CTF. Maybe it would work to have multiple tracks per level, and play them consecutively. The visuals, although lacking technically, are extremely good artstyle-wise.

My main complaint about this game is that its buggy. Really buggy. It works fairly well most of the time, but joining servers can be so laggy that you need to use task manager to restart the game.

I am also hoping that this game won't end up being P2W. I hope the microtransactions will only involve cosmetic items and similar things that don't affect gameplay too much. Selling gameplay-affecting items would really drive players away, and what this game really needs is a larger playerbase.

Steam Community Market would definitely be a good fit for this game. I am hoping the developers will introduce this, but I also understand that it is alot of work, and wouldn't make the game any less enjoyable without it.

There are some things that aren't very polished about this game, but overall its a solid, no-nonsense, skill based FPS that is absolutely great to play. Keep in mind, though, it IS Early Access. I would definitely recommend this game and I would encourage anyone curious to give it a try. After all, it's free.

I have not reviewed a product until now, but I feel like this game in particular could use one, especially since I've found it to be very entertaining (when I finally got into a game, that is). This review is based on only two games that I've played in, so people who have played Wild Warfare for a lot longer than I have will probably be able to form a better review than the one you're reading right now.

This review has been slightly edited in regards to the game now being free to play but many of the issues still stand currently.

I've found Wild Warfare heavily reminding me of arena-shooters such as Unreal tournament, and that in itself brings back many happy memories, memories that I hope to make in Wild Warfare. Unfortunately there are a few issues in the current version of this game that prevent me from outright recommending it to anyone, and I hope these issues get fixed soon (or at the very least tweaked to be a little more bearable then they are now).

Starting with some of the pros I found in my short playthrough:

Map selection in Wild Warfare is small, but the maps do feel nice and and are well-designed (for the most part, there is one exception with the current CTF map with jump-pads at the back of each base, which makes for relatively quick captures and seems to be very infuriating to players, going off by what I see in their discussion board). The maps aren't too large as to make finding other players impossible and there are several jump-pads around the maps, which speeds up travelling around these maps significantly, so you shouldn't be without someone to shoot at for long in a game.

The music in the game sounds nice, the artwork in the game is cute and inviting. Not much more to say here (mostly because I know next to nothing about music and art).

One of the things I especially liked was the fact that when you level up, you can get keys to open crates, which makes a huge difference (to me, anyway). I really hope this stays, as it offers some customization options for free to play players, which this game is supposedly going to be, though I don't see the option for free to play on steam yet (Though it seems you can play a browser-based version for free at Hyperhippo.ca).

One thing to note to parents looking at this game: Yes, there is no blood and gore or foul language, so if for some reason you want to introduce a young one to shooters, then you probably want to pick this up. Bear in mind though that this isn't accounting for any foul words that may come from strangers online.

Has a decent variety of game modes with another on the way it seems.

Seems to perform well on computers that have low specs (I have one terrible rig, so finding games that run on it is a blessing).

Onto some cons I found while playing:

What you see is what you get on your class. There are currently three classes in the game, and each has a different weapon; The engineer has a wrench, the heavy has a minigun, and the striker has a burst assault rifle. That's it. That's all they got. Weapon selection is not very big at this moment in time, though it does make it relatively simple to easily glance at a furry critter's hands (paws, for those that want to get technical with it) and look at the only weapon they have.

Bullet speed is slow, which slows down the pace of the game quite a bit for the firearms at anything beyond 'medium-range', which may not be a particularly bad thing as it encourages you to get closer to land shots easier, but a slight increase in bullet speed would be welcome.

There's no way to crouch in the game, which I didn't find as too big a deal since weapons don't have any recoil at all, but it's something to be noted.

You can't make your own servers at this time.

There are exploitable bugs and glitches that can seriously break the flow of a game (there appears to be an auto-firing bug, which happened quite a bit for me), which I hope are fixed soon.

Servers aren't the best, you'll see players floating in the sky and you can get hit by the engineer's wrench when they're a few feet away and nowhere near melee range. You won't have to worry about the servers, however, unless you can find a game with people. Not many people are currently online at a time, so it'll take awhile for you to find a server with people playing on it sometimes. However, with the game now being free to play, I expect a few servers with people in them, so perhaps the game population will increase in due time.

Classes aren't balanced at this time, with the heavy being underpowered, the striker being balanced, and the engineer being overpowered (at least, when it came to CTF, unsure of how the engineer performs in the other modes).

While not a con, something I'd like to bring up is competition from other games. When reading about the game it sounds quite a bit like Team Fortress two, doesn't it? It even has hats. Yes, I'm aware Team Fortress two doesn't have vehicles but otherwise it seems like it'll be very much the same. Wild Warfare also references Team Fortress two through an achievement, so it's safe to say that they are at least aware of Team fortress two (then again you'd have to be under a rock not to). While I don't expect it to ever overtake Team Fortress two in terms of popularity, I do think it'll at least get a stable community of players, especially since it's also a free to play game that has a slight Team Fortress two vibe at first glance. I'm looking forward to how things will turn out!

Well, that's about all I can say from my two games worth of experience. As stated earlier I cannot recommend the game in its current state, however I do enjoy playing it and would like to in the future. I can't give a definite answer to if you should buy this game or not, but currently, I am content with most of the things I see, and I only hope this game gets better.

I like Wild Warfare, at first glance it may seem like a tf2 rip off, its not, not at all. Wild Warfare is a neat fps, you play one of three classes in a variety of game modes. The classes are all anthropomorphic animals, so that is one of the games draws for alot of people. There are a good amount of customizations as well, that you earn through progress in the game. You get the crates through killing enemys and you get the keys through leveling up. I find this method a pretty effective one in the long term.

The game has only 2 drawbacks in my opinion. One is that there is not a whole lot of content, and two is that there is a low playerbase. These go hand in hand in my opinion, the more players the more content you generally get. Overall though Wild Warfare is a simple shooter, and I like it the way it is. I recommend anyone who thinks this sounds interesting try this game, you may just like it alot!

This game has lots of potential. There are some bugs and the game could use A few more maps and maybe another character class.

The only problem is there are only 10-15 players at max; Need more players!

Cool game with an Engineer, Striker and Heavy class. Heavy is pretty much the same as it is in TF2, Engineer is a bunny with a wrench who can repair mechas (it's hilarious just running around hitting people with wrenchse), Striker has kind of an AK-47 which fires 3 shots every click. It'd be cool to see a crouch function and no mouse accel, but other than that it's a nice game.
