100% Orange Juice Hyper Art Contest!

As anyone who has played the game for a while knows, the online unlockable “NPC” characters (Chicken, Robo Ball, Seagull, Store Manager, Shifu Robot and Flying Castle) do not currently have their own Hyper cards. It’s time to fix this!

Announcing a new contest to create art for the Hyper cards of these 6 characters!

Contest Rules:

  • Create a new piece of artwork (“Entry”) that you feel fits the game 100% Orange Juice and the theme of the chosen Hyper (see the list below).
  • Submission period: June 30, 2016 to August 31, 2016.
  • Effect of the cards do not need to be considered (as it is subject to change), as long as the art of the Entry thematically fits the unit and the Hyper name. Ideally, it should feature the unit itself in some fashion, or some action caused by that unit.
  • Entries must be added to the Artworks section of 100% Orange Juice community hub, with the tag #hyperart and name of the Hyper.
  • Artwork should be square in shape, or made with the consideration that a square area from it will be used in the Hyper card.
  • Entry minimum size is 512x512 pixels.
  • Entries must be original and not contain any copyrighted material and must adhere to Steam Community guidelines.
  • Multiple Entries are permitted, as well as Entries for several Hyper cards.
  • Text is permitted on the artwork, in the same fashion as it is currently used in some cards.
  • Up to one artwork will be chosen for each Hyper card to be used in the game when Hyper cards are added.
  • Fruitbat Factory reserves the right to not use any of the Entries for a given Hyper Card, if they deem none of the submissions are appropriate for it.
  • Winners will be credited in the Game Info section of the game launcher, as well as on the Hyper card itself, as with existing cards (only after such an update where the Hyper cards are added to the game).

List of Hypers:

  • Shifu Robot: Turbo Charged
  • Flying Castle: Immovable Object
  • Store Manager: Banned for Life
  • Seagull: Jonathan Rush
  • Chicken: Golden Egg
  • Robo Ball: Reflective Shell

Disclaimer: By submitting an Entry, the Entrant grants Fruitbat Factory, Ltd a perpetual, non-exclusive, royalty-free worldwide license under all copyrights, trademarks, and other intellectual property rights to use, publish, distribute, copy, modify, translate, create derivative works based upon, make available and otherwise exploit such Entry. Fruitbat Factory, Ltd may do so in any media formats and channels, in any number of copies, without further notice to Entrant, and without the requirement of permission from or payment to Entrant. In addition, Entrant agrees that Fruitbat Factory, Ltd. may use any ideas from any Entry, whether or not Entrant has been awarded a prize in connection with any such Entry.

A guide to making 100% orange juice.

1. First off you start off pouring 50% rage mix into an empty glass. No doubt that this will be the most important ingredient; however, this is my personal preference. Feel free to add more or less to it.

2. Next, we have pour 15% moe sauce into the glass. Don't judge me.

3. 5% pudding. Optional unless you're serving it to a dog girl.

4. 20% stars. The exact amount of stars might very, but if you want to come out on top, you're going to need at least 200.

5. 5% tears. It shouldn't be too hard to produce your own, especially since you're so close to finishing it.

6. Get on your knees and pray to RNGesus that he allows you to transcend into godhood upon consuming this juice. If he hears your prayer, he'll reward you with the final 5% so that your orange juice will taste like VICTORY.

7. Cry in agony as Marie Poppo steals your stars that you worked so hard to obtain.

8. Beat the living ♥♥♥♥ out of her until she gives every. single. one. back.

9. Produce a terrifying, yet slightly attractive, evil laugh.

10. Realize that you wasted far too much time trying to make that laugh sound more attractive. Because of that, Marc had already made her orange juice before you.

11. Throw the current glass at Marc's ugly face.

12. Grab a new glass.

13. Remember when I told you to pour 50% rage mix? Screw that, you're going full 100% rage.

14. Pick Star Breaker and beat the living ♥♥♥♥ out of not just Poppo and Marc, but every potential waifu (And husbando.) from 3 different game universes because you're practically insane at this point.

Anyway enough but making my guide to making orange juice. Time for the actual game review:

Yeah, it's pretty fun. Buy it.

During fights :
You roll 1.
Enemy rolls Evade.
Fair enough.
Enemy rolls 19 billion.
You roll 1 Defend.

Lose half your star.

Lose 4 turns trying to revive.

Come back only to get spawn killed or to get killed by the boss 2 chapters after.

This game is fun tho.

At the surface Orange Juice appears to be a anime Mario Party. That's also how I would describe to those who aren't familiar with 100% OJ. But Oj is actually a fun game that really captures the spirit of party boardgames, screwing each other over, collecting, multiple ways to win, but the main appeal for me is the amount of tactical depth in the game because of the prior elements. There are quite a few characters, with the DLC it's 20+ and each is different. This game can just be approached at so many different angles. Most people I've played with play it on the surface just as a boardgame but it is definitely possible to take the game way too seriously. Also for a boardgame there really isnt too much RNG.

(This game's review is brought to you by Zaraki Snakenoman. Always got aces up your sleeve, man. I love it!)

Wow, it's a shame I haven't reviewed this game yet. Well, let's change that!

100% Orange Juice? What is it? It looks like Mario Party with a weird name...well, if that's your assumption, then you guessed both right AND wrong. Fans have given this notorious title numerous different aliases. 100% Poppo Juice, 100% (censored title here) Juice, 100% Karma Juice, etc. The list goes on. For those that call this "100% Karma Juice", they'll be the most accurate. It's a game that is HALF skill and HALF luck. (As people taught me when I was new)

100% Orange Juice is an videogame board game similar to Mario Party in looks and play-style, but instead of annoying minigames after every round, you're awarded stars (coins) regardless of your performance. You wanted to attack someone you were passing? Now you have that option, to clobber other players...not just with physical punches from on top of your couch...Just keep in mind that just as easily as you beat your opponent, you may lose everything by losing to a bird (No joke...The nightmares).

You score not by getting the highest score after a set turn amount (like Mario Party does), but by simply meeting goals you define (wins or stars) as you land on either an enemy base or your own base. There is a "Card game" aspect to it as well as you can use cards you pick up as traps, battle boosters, or events to screw up someone who's about to win (100% Karma Juice). Also, every character in the game is unique for their combinations of hypers (character-specific abilities) and statistics.

Now, it's a really great game once you get into it and there are always people playing it, so it's not going away anytime soon, which is a plus if you just purchased it or have recently started thinking about getting into it. The game is STILL being updated too with new content such as maps and DLC characters, too.

Story modes are also both charming and hillarious as they are difficult. The dialogues are well-written and have gotten an honest laugh out of me many times. Know what you're doing and you still MIGHT win these difficult campaign challenges to continue the great and comedic stories.

My complaint, however, is that there are some characters from Orange Juice's (the developer) games that have not made it into the game just yet (BRING NATH TO 100% OJ ALREADY!!!!!!). More story modes would also be awesome, perhaps a story for every single character within this game, stock and DLC.

If you're an achievement hunter, you may find it rather rough. If you're a casual or a hardcore gamer, you'll find this game to be a pleasant breath of fresh air. Just remember to be careful with your choices as you play, it may just come back to bite you right before you win... (100% GODDAMMIT Juice)

9.5/10 N--Oops. GG...but Poppo still won the game.~ (WHY IS THIS NOT AN ANIME?!)

tl;dr Anime Mario Party that somehow manages to have MORE RNG and yet still be more fun. Use voice chat when playing with friends.

100% Orange Juice is a strange beast--it's made me loathe my friends and even question my relationships--and yet it's the most fun I've ever had with a party/board game.

100% OJ is extremely RNG-heavy; any game aspect where an outcome can be determined by rolling dice has dice. Explaining the gameplay is rather difficult, but you learn it quickly; I'll try my best to explain it here. The first player to get 5 Normas wins; Normas are achieved by either collecting stars or winning battles, and subsequently landing on a home tile. Additionally, a single card can be played during a player's turn; cards have a variety of effects from allowing you to roll two dice, to warping all players to random spaces. Some cards can only be used in battle, causing things like stat buffs and debuffs, or conditionals like a battle lasting until one player is KO'd. There are also trap cards, which are laid down at the player's current tile, and have effects like forcing players to discard cards, or--worst of all--forcing the victim to exchange star counts. In terms of battle, every character has their own stats for HP, Attack, Defense, and Evasion. HP is a simple number stat, but ATK, DEF, and EVD are done D&D style in that they add or subtract from a roll. In combat, the player initiating combat rolls first to determine how much damage they deal. The target then must choose to defend or evade; defending subtracts the amount of the target's roll from the attacker's roll, while in evasion the target roll must be higher than the attacker's roll to avoid taking damage or else take full damage. Unless certain cards are played, the target then gets to attack before combat ends. Overall, there is a lot of die rolling, hence why many call it an RNG simulator. I concur.

Surprisingly, this game has a story; though it's not terribly engaging, you do need to play it as it unlocks characters that can then be bought from the store using your total accumulated stars. Each of the four starting characters--QP, Suguri, Marc, and Kai--have their own story, but they're more or less the same, with only level order being different. Overall, the story is a good choice if you have no one to play with you, but if you always have people to play with you, it becomes tedious as you play it to unlock more items when you could be playing with your friends and having more fun.

Overall, 100% Orange Juice is this odd case where it has infuriating amounts of RNG--so infuriating that you wind up laughing with everyone else you're playing with whenever ridiculous things happen. It's a great choice if you have plenty of friends on Steam who can play with you and if you can voice chat with them; you'll have a riot of a time.
