“If you're like me, when you played Portal 2, you covered every room in as much bouncy gel as possible. Well now it's a whole lot easier, and you can color coordinate the walls with orange gel.”
Kotaku

“A surprising and fresh revival of Portal 2’s familiar puzzle elements.”
Jeep Barnett

“It looks great, it plays well, and it lasts 2-3 hours, giving it good value for money.”

This game is one of the most fun games based off a great game. Portal 2, everyone who plays it, loves it. Unless they hate puzzles and thinking. Anyways, Aperture Tag. Its time to think with Gels. The Gels from Portal 2 are now in your hands and ready to fire. Solving more puzzles and finding the secret areas in the levels. Can you find Ratman's Hideout? Can you find the secret song in area 3 (metal version of Still Alive)? Any one who plays this game and is not happy, download the communities maps. So much potential in a short game, and it has it all. You also have the ability to add Crushers to your own maps. Good luck Test Subjects.

The good: well executed concept, with maps that give you a real challenge and a thrilling soundtrack.
The bad: some mechanics are not explained clearly and may take a while to understand properly.
The ugly: some overlooked bugs and rare save-corrupting crashes.
Overall: 4/5

A nice mod. And I didn't find the voice acting to be NEARLY as bad as lots of people have said. It's not bad at all.

The game is not as good as Portal 2, but not Valve was making it.
There is sadly one character, but well made and voice perfectly fits.
The levels can be hard. I mostly enjoyed the speedrun levels like the one that starts the "Stage" chapter.
I hope Valve makes crossover with this and normal Portal 2, and maybe TWTM.
About portals, there are sadly little amount of them.
About it being "overpriced", it is not. It's well made game with PeTI, but sadly not Co-oP (like 1 type of gel for person).
The character you play is, unfortunately, without backstory OR EVEN A STORY. This is the biggest fault.

I really like this game because it takes the Portal 'formula' and expands on it. There are a TON of high-speed action scenes, particularly the 'escape' puzzle. The only thing it doesn't do well is that it has no oculus rift support, though that would probably make me throw up. On my computer. Yuck.

Alright. Let's play Aperture TAG!

--1 hour later--

This game. This. Freakin. Game. For all those who had a lot of fun in 1960's and 70's Aperture in the original Portal 2, this is the game for you. Expanding on the Repulsion and Propulsion gels from the underground labyrinth known as Test Shaft 09, this freakishly fast-paced DLC/mod is a perfect step forwards in testing with Gels. Also, if you found those chambers in Portal 2 difficult, this mod also has a series of introductory courses to help you get used to them.

All in all, a very well designed game with an amazing soundtrack and killer physics.

Somehow not what I expected. Having played Portal and Portel 2 a lot, I was very excited.
Nice idea with paint gun though.

But... I spend 90% respawning because I fell into the damn water... AGAIN. And the other 10% not knowing if the thing I was trying to do was uesful at all. Somehow not the kind of puzzle solving I had im mind. And then, I paint whole walls with the gel as I think is right just to die right after because I miss a critical jump. And then I have to paint them all again...!

This is frustrating and gets boring very quickly.

To the developers;
Maybe put in a hint or two about what to do?
Maybe less useless deaths?

I really liked the game idea. Just make it a little more usable?

Portal is about solving puzzles. This mod is a platformer which lacks the great humour and mental demands, featured in Portal games. And the citranium... tries to recycle the cake theme of Portal 1 with a stupid parody.

The main ending is horrible, the alternate ending is much more "Portal style".

If it had been free, definitely would be a thing to which give it a try. Aperture Tag isn't.

I love the idea of a paint gun BUT -- the mechanics of the game mean you die over and over. Every time you re-spawn you have to repaint all your work. It is less about solving puzzles and more about working through your frustration after you've died 5 times in a row trying to make a jump.

I'm a huge portal fan but it takes a crazy amount of work to design a smooth environment so that levels feel natural. I often didn't know if I was going in the right direction through a chamber.

It is such a great idea, and it is really very well done, but the fact that a bounce done slightly wrong sets you back a few minutes took away from all the enjoyment. Gets pretty frustrating...

A great mod with an excellent set of challenging puzzles. The voice acting could use some work, but it's a small, easilly overlooked issue. My only real complaint is how the single-player campaign ends. Not to spoil anything, but it felt like a cop out as far as I'm concerned, and the final puzzle was nowhere near as challenging as some of the ones before it. That said I thoroughly enjoyed playing, and urge anyone that liked the "old Aperture" sections of Portal 2 as much as I did to play this mod.
