Miluju Batmana. Miluju hry z Arkham série (Asylum a City).

If you're looking for a fun addition to the Batman franchise, I'd recommend it. If you're looking for a good platformer, hold off on it. For now. Batman™: Arkham Origins Blackgate adds a good story upon Arkham Origins' original one that will keep any Batman-fan interrested to the end. However, in terms of gameplay, it's not too good. Not for a Batman game nor a platformer.

The Good:
· An interresting story that takes place after Arkham Origins and before Arkham Asylum, set mostly in Blackgate Prison.
· Fun and different take on the Arkham storyline. With drawn comicbook-esque cinematics and 2.5D gameplay it offers an entirely different way of playing as Batman. Using Batman's gadgets in 2D is surprisingly entertaining.
· Collectibles give fans a reason to return to the game after completion, albeit very linear. That being said...

The Bad:
· ... the game plays a bit too linear for an Arkham game. The combat and platforming feel a bit too stiff and at points even forced. The series is known for, among others, its Free Flow combat system. Don't expect to see Free Flow combat here. There is combat in the game that looks a little bit like the combat in Arkham Asylum, but it plays stiff and clunky.
· Confusing and overly-guided platforming combined with reasonably frustrating stealth gameplay will definately take some getting used to (for example, Batman will switch from one platform in the foreground to another platform in the background using the Batclaw and there is no option to look around while in vents).

The Ugly:
· For a port its pretty reasonable, with smoothened egdes and overall a slightly better quality but characters will still feel stiff and the environments at times a bit repetetive or downright boring.

Final Verdict:
Batman™: Arkham Origins Blackgate is a fun game to play through if you're a big Batman fan, but platformer-lovers won't really find anything new or surprisingly interresting. Are you interrested in the game for its story, or are you looking for the series' innovative gameplay? That question is one this review answers.

Don't expect a game like the previous Batmans. This one is very different. It's a 2.5D platformer game and a port of the PS Vita version. So it's a big change. But it's a very interesting and original version. New look, same gameplay though. Graphics still beautiful (for a platformer!) Fights are easy, there's no real challenge in it. The story is amazing, the map is kinda pretty, kinematics look like a comic book. At this price, it's worth playing as long as you consider it as a little Batman game that will help you to wait for the next AAA Batman ^^ Fans wouldn't be able to resist! :P

Right lets start by saying that allthough this game is set in the same storyline as the "ARKHAM" games it doesnt really play out in the same way that the other games actually do (even though it still carries the "ARKHAM" tag).
Ok lets just say that having said that, that the actual fight mechanics, gadgets and all around atmosphere feels like it does in most "ARKHAM" games but thats where the similarities end,to be honest the way you play the actual game feels more like an oldschool "METROID" or "CASTLEVANIA" game and it plays out from that viewpoint.
Now this is no major problem as this only spoils your enjoyment of this well made game if you sit and think about it to much "HEY THIS DOESNT PLAY LIKE THE OTHER ARKHAM GAMES,ME UPSET AND WANT MY MONEY BACK",and to be honest once you get used to it the 2.5d way the game is put forward actually feels fresh and new (well as new and fresh as it can feel anyway).
Lets get onto the fundamentals of the game, the graphics really do their job and do it well of putting over the whole atmosphere of playing in a "BATMAN" game and the cutscenes look like they have been stolen straight out of a graphic novel.
The sound in game is top notch from music and sound effects to spoken dialogue, everything sounds just as it should and puts forward that vibe that you need to convice you that you are in fact playing a "BATMAN" game.Mention must go to the voice actors and in particular 3 people Troy Baker who plays the JOKER and does (in my humble opinion) a fantastic job as the clown prince of crime (must say though that i do like and miss Mark Hamil, but well everything changes-not allways for the best though),Roger Craig Smith who does an excellent job of capturing that sound and dark forboding feel of THE DARK KNIGHT and Grey DeLisle who does a great job as the sultry and allways intriguing CATWOMAN (heres a trivia fact for everyone Grey DeLisle had been playing a certain Daphne Blake since 2001).
Ok on to the story, well actually no as to tell even any details would spoil both your enjoyment and the sheer buzz you will get out of playing it lets just say that i can mention a few certain villians that appear in the game 1-JOKER,2-PENGUIN,3-CATWOMAN and 4-BLACKMASK,there are other villians in the game and they are there for you to discover for yourself as if i say anymore it would spoil the whole story.
I will say this though that the game and story take place in BLACKGATE and that the whole thing takes part in 4 distinct areas the Cell Block, the Industrial Area, and the Administration Offices (with each playing out slightly different from the others, with each needing certain upgrades in your epuipment to beat and master),and each area has its own BOSS and at the end its own BOSS battle (some are easy, some hard and a few border on SATANICALLY DIFFICULT-you know which fight i mean you game you)
Will you enjoy taking another journey into the DARK KNIGHTS world, well yes if you love BATMAN and have any interest in playing a well made and put together peice of entertainment then why are you still reading this review go and buy the game and if not "HOLY HECK BATMAN,WHY NOT THIS GAME IS STUPENDOUS" says ROBIN and how can you disagree with a man brave enough to wear tights and go out in public (well at least he was like that in the 1960s American live action television series,GOD it would take some nerve to do that today)

When I saw this on the new releases page I though, "oh cool, a 2D platformer with Batman. It's probably not gonna be amazing, but it won't be terrible."

It is.

I've been trying to think of a single positive thing to say about the game, and I'm stumped. Both as a cut down version of the AAA series and as a platformer in its own right, it falls short in every way. The story is what you'd expect: people in Blackgate are escaping and you have to stop them. While that's not great anyway, the voice acting by people who weren't in the other games is god awful. The cutscenes are also done as a motion comic, to try and get around the fact that the graphics look terrible compared to Arkham Asylum even (which is 5 years old now).

The gameplay is the mix of combat and stealth that the series has done so well, but they try to use all the same mechanics for a 2D game. So combat never works very well, as you can't get combos going. It turns into a series of quick time events (the first boss fight was literally just that). The stealth is crap too because you have a very limited sight range, so you can get seen and attacked by people on the other side of the room you are in.

The puzzle solving and collectible hunting has had all of the fun stripped out of it too. Detective vision no longer does anything useful. Instead you have to use an unnecessary scanner to hover over things for 5 seconds before you can interact with them. So instead of exploring and figuring things out for yourself, you're running a scanner over every object in the room, trying to figure out the dumb way that you're supposed to leave it.

I have no clue why they didn't release this as a third person game like the others. It uses a lot of the same assets (just lower quality because the game came out on the PS Vita and 3DS originally), and they try to use most of the same gameplay features. Most of the levels wouldn't require a lot of work to change. I managed to get this for $8, but I would have happily paid $20 or more for the same game, but with updated maps and graphics to make the most of the PC platform.

In short, both Arkham Origins Blackgate is lacking in both quality platforming and puzzle solving, fun gameplay, and a worthwhile story. If you like Batman a little, get this when it's 75% off and won't feel like a waste of your money. Until then, just replay the other 3 games, which are better in every way (and have been cheaper too).
