An official word plus exciting news...

Announcement made by Zane Saxton

"Comrade’s,

We would like to apologise for the recent time-bomb related bug that prevented you from playing Spintires, it was totally unacceptable and we appreciate the frustration it must have caused you.

A member of our community named ‘Localhost’ along with our Moderators had kindly provided you with a temporary fix that you could use whilst we continued to produce the official fix.

Luckily we have now identified and fixed the bug which was not sabotage like some of the media suspected. The bug was identified by Pavel when running an older test build side-by-side with a newer build - it turns out it was some code that Pavel had invented to try and deal with piracy and DRM issues.

Pavel explains here: “bug was related to self-checks that which I tried to invent myself to prevent the game from being pirated and modded”.

After the recent media speculations, it’s entirely up-to-you if you will believe such a story or not. However, with that said, we accept responsibility for not communicating with our community as much as we should have and perhaps if we had done so, the guesswork by the media wouldn't have been steered so negatively.

It was interesting to read the conspiracy theories about sabotage from the media though, especially when an unnamed media outlet clearly announced they haven’t even contacted Oovee at all about the subject. It does highlight the fact you should only consider official statements directly from the Oovee forum or website as true.

We would like to take the opportunity to thank our moderators and members who supported us during these difficult times, your actions do not go unnoticed.

Now it’s time to move onto something more positive…

Behind the dense forests, swampy lakes (or big black twisters) we have been working hard to secure a deal with a partner, and it is with great pleasure we can now announce that Spintires will be coming to both Xbox One and PS4 expected to arrive early 2017.

If you are not a fan of consoles, do not fear - it is also good news for our PC fans since it now means we will be expanding the development team for that platform as well! It may have taken us some time to secure and announce such a deal but work has already commenced and in the next few months you will hear more details about the ports and additional updates for the PC platform too.

Many thanks for your continued support, love and inspiration.

Zane Saxton, and everyone from Oovee."

Game won a big no from me. They had everything for an awesome game, they were really close but instead of finishing important bits of the gameplay (Like saving your progress in multiplayer, if that's not important then ♥♥♥♥ me, right?) they are interested in expanding their early access unfinished product to PS4 and Xbox. They develop where they are getting more market and more money, I don't feel like they want to ever make this game as great as it could be.

perfect with 1-2 friends its like an adventure when you have a new map and you got hyped with your friend/s to try everything out.

This is 105% accurate game, is exacly what is like to be real slav. Should be call "Slav Simulator 1986" mud physics will make you question capitalism, exploration of many diverese environment will make you question if radiation was contained in Chernobyl and where did the Tsar bomba get dropped. Id rate 1 out of 1 cold war.

I re installed this game and my addons for vehicles didn't show up so I spent almost an hour un subscribing and re subscribing to each addon one by one and they still wont show the vehicles in game. It's a good game but never delete the local content and re install it.

After playing a mere 4 hours of the game since I bought it yesterday, I feel like I can safely write a review.

Reasons I put off buying for so long:
-Played the demo ages ago and got bored, plus it performed badly.
-Slightly expensive.
-Seemed very 1-ended, very linear.
-Thought I would bore of it in mere minutes.

Reasons I finally bought the game:
-I had some money and couldn't decide what to do with it.
-My brother really wanted me to get it.

Reasons this game is absolutely AMAZING:
-I have a GTX960 for a GPU, and while some other games stutter, this game gives a CONSTANT 60 FPS on absolute HIGHEST settings. The graphics in this game are INSANELY nice looking!
-The developers have done an amazing job with the physics of the trucks; I love the "heavy" feeling of the vehicles. Each truck handles differently than each other, and each one has its own challenges to overcome!
-Every single part on the vehicles seems to be animated, from the suspension to the chains and hooks.
-Immense customization for each vehicle, you can make a whole fleet of loggers, tankers and rescue trucks!
-A nice array of maps to choose from, with the ability to choose starting vehicles. Each map is extremely well made!
-The developers have made literally EVERYTHING on the map interactive; from the deformable terrain (you will hate mud after you finish playing for a while), to rocks, trees, and bushes!
-A nice career feel to the game, with you having to first go ahead and scout to remove cloaking from the map, as well as find paths to fuel stations and lumberyard/objectives.
-Trucks burn fuel at different levels depending on each model, and whether dif lock and AWD are enabled.
-Controls are very easy to set up, and are simplistic from the beginning.
-The game really requires you to think about the route you are taking, in order to not cause damage to your truck or load.
-An excellent group of devs as well as a phenomenal community of modders!

Reason the game could be better:
-The ONLY complaint I have that would make the game better would be an interior camera. The camera options as of now leave a lot to be desired, and make it very difficult to see at some points.

Overview
All-in-all, the pros of this game FAR outweigh the cons, and there is absolutely NO reason not to buy this game! I would not hesitate to buy it again, even if it was 10-15 dollars more expensive (which I honestly think they could get away with).

FINAL SCORE: 9.8/10

I watched and waited. Heard that the game was working again so bought it.

The UI and controls are adequate. Currently there is no way to play it effectively without a controller as some things require a KB and mouse, for example, the main menu. The xbox controller is quite functional, it just needs a tiny bit more work to make it lounge ready.

It is strangely satisfying. Kind of like ETS2 in a way but much more challenging. Steam workshop is a bonus.

Great fun and the kids like it too, wierd...

Highly recommend this game.

I dont always keep my PC connected to the internet for the hour counter but i have a lot of hours into this game, and im still very much into it.

The mods were all very easy to manage and download through steam, my 9 year old cat Noodles could figure it out..

The point of the game is to make deliveries of logs and such throughout the map, unlock garages by delivering a few utility points.. You'll know what i mean when you buy the game.. Cause you gonna buy the game. Its stellar.
Its cool to make deliveries until you get mods,
My main objective was then to find out just how deep i can get the old 82 Burban in the water and still manage to work myself out.

10/10

This game is one of the only offroading agmes I have actually liked you can have so many mods with it there is a pretty good multiplayer system there are custom maps you ca download the game is just that good but I have come across a few issues with the game though 1. when you uninstall the game and reinstall it you won't be able to get your mods that you subscribed to back but luckily with me I was able to get my game to download the mods after a few days 2. Another problem I have had is about a month or so ago I have not been able to get my steam overlay to work and it is really frustraiting other than that I will give this game a 8.5/10 :)

I barrel rolled my crane truck down a hill, now i need to figure out how to recover the truck made for that purpose... i don't think my jeep can pull it back up.

Jokeing!, i jammed it between two trees and winched it back onto the surface... to bad i couldn't get it back out of the trees.

9/10 be nice if my save didn't have a habit of deleteing itself

The off-roading genre has been my favorite genre since I started gaming way back in the 90s. Games like Test Drive Off Road, 1nsane, Screamer 4x4, and Cabela's 4x4 Off Road Adventure series - those are what I started with and I had a lot of fun. They all did a lot of things right but left a lot to be desired. Even the later games like Rigs of Rods or BeamNG Drive don't do off road gameplay very well because it's not their main focus. Spintires on the other hand is one of the first off roading games that actually plays like you expect it and want it to. The trucks feel heavy and powerful but aren't unstoppable which keeps the gameplay interesting. You can winch vehicles, tow trailers, operate cranes, haul logs and with the addition of the workshop you can download a ton of new community made vehicles which keeps things fresh. The mud and water physics are the best I've ever seen in a game, the graphics look fantastic and the coop mode means you can complete campaigns with your friends. I'd highly recommend this game to anyone with the slightest interest in the off roading genre.

Fun game but played out quickly. Hardcore mode still to do.
Graphics are very detailed. Operating the crane is difficult and would be handy to have some guide for it in the beginning.
Overall nice and fun to play. More levels would make it even more fun ;)

The game was alright, a pretty good trucking simulator up until today:

There was a dispute amongst the devs and one of them inserted malicious code into the game out of spite. Now, when any user launches the game after February 2016 it will automatically crash after a few seconds. The game is quite literally unplayable and anyone who paid money for it has been utterly robbed. I hope anybody who reads this review will google "spintires time bomb" and see that I am telling the truth; the game no longer functions at all. If you were planning to buy it based on the relatively high review score (86% at the time of writing), you are better off just throwing your money in the trash.
