is a free-to-play multi-player survival horror set around the monstrous entity known as 'The Being' or 'The Soulrender'. Players must cooperatively work together to gather a series of mysterious dolls while escaping the unholy abomination. There are no weapons, only your survival instincts.
Players must work as a team to gather (and return) a collection of twisted dolls. As each doll is collected, The Being will become increasingly more difficult to escape in each encounter. This mysterious creature doesn’t just become faster – it’ll attempt to trap you and cut you off from the rest of the group. A frugal use of your flashlight and constant communication are a necessity to surviving this hellish nightmare.
Faceless has a really mysterious and open-for-interpretation storyline in which four survivors (Known as The Wakeland Survivors) go to find Daniel North, the brother of Adam North, one of the Wakeland Survivors. Wakeland City has been closed off under the NHI Act of 1947, it is one of four locations that have been infested by Tears, in which the Being can freely pass through. Dolls reside in four locations in Wakeland City, these are, Wakeland Forest, Wakeland Town, Hyde St. Station and Bear Valley Hospital. The Wakeland Survivors must take all these dolls to the ritual spots in each area to ensure their own survival. Optional items can be found to hear clues about Daniel.
A tense and terrifying soundtrack follows the players on their descent into insanity. From the main menu to each pick-up of a doll, the audio design has been built to create a nerve-wracking and unnatural vibe that will put players on edge.
-No gravetalk or free roam spectate: dead players cannot relay information to living ones.
-Players start off completely alone and split from each other.
-Voice chat is proximal: players can only communicate within a certain distance.
-One to four player support: die together or die alone.
-FGD support so players can create their own multiplayer maps.
Dolls: The base-game mode in which an amount of dolls depending on how many players start the game will need to be collected and dropped off in a specified area in order to set the dolls alight and "free" the entity from within the dolls. Once all dolls have been collected and burnt, the players will be able to successfully "escape".
Versus: A versus game-mode where up to four players can play, and one is randomly allocated to play as The Being. (Can be overridden to allow somebody in particular to be The Being) A button will be tied to teleporting to a node behind the nearest player, whilst you can move after they have collected 75% of the dolls. Using the base-gamemode maps (Dolls.)
Run: A gamemode that spans over 3 maps where you have no objective except to run and survive, at the end of each map is a safe-house to which it transitions over to the next map, the final map will be met with an escape option.
Hysterical Blindness: Inspired by the Trouble in Terrorist Town game-mode for Garry's Mod, everybody will look like minimal human-esque figures, and more than 4 people can play, one will be assigned as The Being and will appear to be a normal person. They have to kill as many people as they can without being caught, upon being caught everybody will have to remember who to run from and try to survive the remaining time limit.
