Sniper Elite 3 is a very arcadish take on being a sniper/marksman.

-runs well
-levels more open ended then previous sniper elites
-cool bullet cam

-AI is comparable to 2002 AI
-main character is a pro-sniper, yet somehow has trouble firing a SMG at ranges of 5 meters
-no ability to manually lean
-camera can sometimes be horrible
-no weapon resting
-over-exaggerated bullet drop
-no weapon sway/ almost none
-online is dead, couple servers online but the admins on them are horrible
-branded as a game with open levels, while this is true it's no where near as open as games such as crysis(from 2007!)
-the collision on some meshes are horrible, making you hit a hidden wall from time to time.
-the stealth gameplay is a total joke, often you walk in on german/ italian soldiers all watching the same direction, no one seems to think it's a smart idea to cover their rear
-historic accuracy is also something this game seems to lack a ton of

the only time i will ever recommend this game is if it's on sale for less than 10 bucks or if you're a big fan of extremely arcadish sniping, and even then battlefield has more in-depth sniping than this.

Completely unrealistic linear rail shooter hiding under the pretense of being a realistic sniper simulation. Ridiculous gameplay that give players extreme accuracy and time-slowing superpowers, ludicrously small maps and engagement distances for a game supposedly about sniping, and marginally different customization options make this an unenjoyable experience. Story has been done a million times and is completely laughable, the oh-so-holy Allied protagonist supposedly liberating the world from the Axis menace, all the while single-handedly massacring entire brigades of undisciplined Wehrmacht troops. Neither realistic nor fun, the only redeeming factor in this waste of 20 gigabytes is the bullet cam, which nevertheless gets old quickly.

This game is a lot of fun. It does a great job at making you feel both challenged and rewarded.

I enjoyed the campaign quite a bit, and got 16 hours out of it. I really liked how customizable the difficulty was, letting you pick parts of each difficulty setting that you like/dislike.

My one qualm with this game is that the X and Y axis sensitivity are not equal even when set to the same amount. Fortunately, this does not seem to affect sensitivity while scoped.

Pros: The missions are very long and involved and you generally have an unlimited way to approach them within the bounds of the game. A single mission can last a couple of hours. The sniper kill graphics are pretty cool but tire after the first 10 times or so. You can easily skip the slowmo by hitting space bar to get back in the game. The player AI is pretty good and the NPCs generally work to seek you out if they are aware of your presence.

Cons: There are still significant bugs and restrictions in the game. Clipping errors and bounding regions that are too restrictive are a big issue. Areas that you should be able to fit through in the game are often frustratingly blocked. Also, the 'open world' is not as open as it could be. This really limits the immersiveness of the game by forcing you to stick within the walled bounds of the playfield and restricts your ability to move around. Areas where you should be able to climb or walk or crawl are restricted which makes the game play frustrating at times.

It's a decent game but not worth the $54.99 regular price. Even at the sale price of $10.99 I'm not sure it's worth it.

-Mp Sucks, Just always spawning into somebodys line of fire. GG
-Third Person Camera Sucks, the whole peek over walls dayz s##t thing all over again
-The whole empty your lung system to make shots which are mostly around 50-100m makes no sense.
-why is this a sniper game with the average kill being within 100m? Dont need a sniper for this makes 0 sense
-Maps aren't big enough. You spawn inside a building and still get insta killed =__=
-Snipers about taking that one long shot and being patient this is just a third person into first person quick scoping simulator..
- Customization so far seems to = everything will make your gun worse in some way

+Wind and bullet drop is kinda cool
+Runs great on old hardware, gtx480 ultra shadows at medium 1080p always over 60fps so far,
+Gun load out, plenty of customization
+Xray cam thing if your a horrible nasty gruesome c##t is cool.

=Graphics are okay

Still better than call of doody though nothing is worse than krap ops 3

its fun for a while but mp frustrates the ♥♥♥♥ out of me.. Single player is the better feature in this

I don't get it, why so many negative reviews recently during the FREE WEEKEND playtime.
just played 2 hours so far (when I wrote this), I kinda like the game play, the graphic is just good, the best part of the graphic is when you hit the enemy's organs, that slow motion is really such a cool feature.
Basically it's a you vs the world kind of game, I mean, you killed them 1 by 1, with your powerful sniper.
Going to play as much as I can tomorrow, as the last day, and will update the review.

After having so much fun of SE3 during the free weekend, then watching some gameplay of SE1 & SE2, I decided to buy the SE Trilogy. Go get em!!!

Did you like FarCry3 and 4? Was your favorite part of FarCry3 and 4 the sandboxy sneaking into outposts, tagging enemies so you could see them through walls, tossing rocks to divert their attention and hiding bodies? Then this is the game for you! It's like that but with much bigger outposts. The one big difference is this game does not have FarCry's alarm disabling system; so far as I can tell. I am currently on the 4th mission and having a great time.

The missions are big, sprawling and take a long time to complete. Fun stuff!

My biggest gripe is the DLC. Nickel & diming us for weapon selections. Instead of earning them in the game by completing objectives, they are pay-to-unlock. Not as fun, but more profitable for the publisher.

Another minor negative is the character you play, Gristled Snipermen. I think that is his name. His voice sounds like the baddest of bad-asses in the most generic way possible. It's almost cartoonish how bad-♥♥♥ he sounds. It would have been nice if the character was given some more nuance. A flaw, maybe even a touch of a sense of humor. It doesn't detract from the game, but his performances can cause minor eye-rolling.

I played this game when it was free for the weekend on Steam, and I will recommend it to everyone. The multiplayer is not like Call of Duty, but it is far more entertaining than that. If you want to play a game that tests your skill, patience and gives you a rewarding experience, then this is it.

An enjoyable game of cat and mouse where the mice are incredibly dumb. It is fun sneaking around, breaking generators, using the weather or large gun fire to mask your own shots, but even just shooting all willy nilly the AI is pretty terrible here and you should have no issues escaping. With that said it is a fun game with some over the top violence, but I guess that is what this series is known for. Speaking of the over the top gore, the game has some pretty nice graphics and it runs smooth maxed out sans AA at 4k.

TL:DR Not bad, if it is $20 or lower pick it up.
