Kup London-Faversham High Speed

LUNAR NEW YEAR SALE! Offer ends 12 lutego

O tym DLC

London-Faversham High Speed brings together the exhilaration of high speed trains with the more serene ‘classic’ third rail lines of Kent all in one route, complete with the streamlined Southeastern Class 395.

The newest high speed route in the UK opened fully in November 2007 with domestic commuter services beginning on the route in December 2009 from the stunning London St Pancras station into the heart of Kent.

Departing London St Pancras, the route for Train Simulator passes under the City with Class 395s reaching speeds of 140mph before stopping at Stratford International on the edge of the London 2012 Olympic Park. Speeding through the Essex countryside and under the River Thames, high speed services stop at Ebbsfleet International Station, where power switches from overhead electrification to third rail pick-up. From here, Class 395s cross onto the ‘classic’ Kent lines, pausing at stations including Gravesend, Rochester and Sittingbourne, before terminating at Faversham.

The Class 395 is one of the most advanced high speed passenger trains in the UK and the fleet was built by Hitachi, famous for their Japanese bullet trains and on which the Class 395 was based. The model is capable of fast acceleration and deceleration to minimise travelling time, a feature of the bullet trains, and run on dual voltage systems for overhead and third rail pick up. The Class 395 is also unique in being able to run under TVM430 track-to-train signalling on the high speed section of the route and traditional aspect signalling on the ‘classic’ section.

The Southeastern Class 395 for Train Simulator features extensive internal and external detailing, including full start-up procedure, in-cab lighting, passenger view, roof detailing with working fans, driver vigilance system, accurate overheard catenary, trackside detailing including AWS boxes and ramps, and up to the minute signalling on the ‘classic’ route.

London-Faversham High Speed is an accurate depiction of a fantastic modern image UK route with stunning scenery through the Kent countryside, accurate depictions of London St Pancras Station, Ebbsfleet International Station, Rochester Castle and Cathedral, and the QEII Bridge at Dartford, and many hours of enjoyable and challenging driving.

The Class 395 is officially licensed by Southeastern and has been produced with the kind help and cooperation of Hitachi Rail Europe.

Its a nice route and would only recommend it if you like fast trains as you can blast along a sizeable the CTRL line all the way to Ebbsfleet International in a Class 395 that is the UK's fastest passenger train in revenue service. Once you get to Ebbsfleet International, its then time to switch from the OHL to the third rail before continuing onwards to Faversham. The stock included is the Class 395 that is used for the included scenarios and you do get a Class 377 EMU which is mostly used as AI traffic but it is a player drivable train and you can drive this from Ebbsfleet International to Faversham on the third rail section of the route if you wish. I would recommended getting the Class 466 with Sheerness branch add on to go with this route as then this will give you the full benefit of the route.

Overall Rating: 9/10.

This DLC package does not meet my expectations for the price.

Dislikes -
1) Most systems are not simulated, basic systems only functional. There is a whole stack of LCD monitors in the cabin that are just blank. Seems that not much effort into simulation has been placed and I found standard stock trains operate better.

2) External train headlights do not work. There is a nighttime mission that is impossible to complete as you literally cannot see a thing ahead of you such as fixed unlit signs.

3) Basic game functions dont seem to work properly for example when attempting to pick passengers up from stations you can come to a complete stop open the doors, wait for the counter and the doors to close before annoyingly getting a message stating that you failed to pick up passengers. I did a whole 60 minute mission only to have this happen on the second last stop meaning the mission was incomplete. Frustrating quirks like this are many.

4) The train model itself appears unfinished for example the high speed tunnel section gives speed limits in km/h however the guage reads in mph. Every time the speed changes I had to calculate the conversion just to know what speed I was meant to be doing otherwise the train flips the emergency brakes which will not disconnect even after coming to a complete stop. In the instructional mission this is all corrected and working but for some strange reason not in the normal missions.

5) The system that changes the trains power supply to and from DC does not work. For example I ran a whole mission from London to Faversham without changing from DC power.

6) This may not be the fault of the developer however the route itself is extremely boring. You have one high speed section (220km/h not so high speed) out of London and from there on you a plagued by extremely slow speed limits between stations sometimes not getting above 30mph for long periods. I dont believe that it is possible to run a high speed service where most of the trip and I mean about 80% of the journey your not exeeding 50mph. The speed limits will bring you into stations from a great distance demanding you dont exceed 15mph. At that speed it feels like you could walk faster than the train as it arrives.

7) There are many more problems with this program and if it was a free DLC I would be quite satisfied with putting up with its many issues but certainly not when it is priced so high. I mean I can buy all the episodes of Life is strange for less than this DLC. It doesn't add up because the time and effort does not appear to be there for this DLC. This DLC has been around for a while now, these issues should have been rectified. The fact they havent just spells highway robbery in my book. Dovetail or whatever your called, you need to pull your head in and stop overcharging for DLC's.

1) The sounds are not bad, I like the sound of the train as it spools up and down.

2) I like the track apart from the stupid speed limits once your out of the high speed tunnel. With a good train it might not be so bad.

2) I am trying to be fair but I honestly cannot think of many good things to say about this DLC. It should be priced at no more than $5. For that money it would be worth having for the track. But it is definately not what I would call a High speed DLC. The high speed section is mostly in a tunnel and it isnt that fast.

I hope this review is helpful, I am not trying to bring the developer down however they are quite happy to take my hard earned cash, charging a premium for what is undoubtably a broken DLC. FIX IT.

Got this level a while ago. As part of a bundle when upgrading TS2014.

It's a good train, with an fantastic line, that has lot's of diffrent aspects to it, from high speed, to low 15-30mph sections. Which keep the line interesting to drive.

All scenario's work, no problems with timing, lighting, AI, etc.

The train is good, in cab is good fun. The change over system, for going from OHL to Third Rail, is very easy to use, once mastered. There is also a good scenario / level teaching you how to do this. Good aspect from DTG there. You all get an extra train, for free that can be used in QD and other scenario's if you own the line. So there is a good added bonus from DTG there.

Is it worth list price? Does it give value for money at list price?

What about discounted, or in a sale? What about a bundle?? Yes if that's available DTG are giving you even better value for money.

YES. If you like this train, then you can have hours of fun with it in QD on OHL lines and DC lines. If you own them.

Is it's a good asset to your fleet of trains. Cracking train to drive at high speed on long runs. Also with the extra free train, that also comes into play for you in QD on your other lines.

There is one small downside, when running QD from Faversham to London, the real time clock is not working, though this does not de-tract from the fun to be had. So please do not let that, stop you from purchasing this add-on.

Well worth it, Enjoy....

Okay, first things first, this is a very good route, with smooth track, and good scenarios for the 395.

No scenarios for the class 375, which is a bummer.
Can not use on my computer, some sort of compatibility issues which cause extreme framerate drop.

Otherwise, yes, i would recommend this route...
