O tym DLC

London-Faversham High Speed brings together the exhilaration of high speed trains with the more serene ‘classic’ third rail lines of Kent all in one route, complete with the streamlined Southeastern Class 395.

The newest high speed route in the UK opened fully in November 2007 with domestic commuter services beginning on the route in December 2009 from the stunning London St Pancras station into the heart of Kent.

Departing London St Pancras, the route for Train Simulator passes under the City with Class 395s reaching speeds of 140mph before stopping at Stratford International on the edge of the London 2012 Olympic Park. Speeding through the Essex countryside and under the River Thames, high speed services stop at Ebbsfleet International Station, where power switches from overhead electrification to third rail pick-up. From here, Class 395s cross onto the ‘classic’ Kent lines, pausing at stations including Gravesend, Rochester and Sittingbourne, before terminating at Faversham.

The Class 395 is one of the most advanced high speed passenger trains in the UK and the fleet was built by Hitachi, famous for their Japanese bullet trains and on which the Class 395 was based. The model is capable of fast acceleration and deceleration to minimise travelling time, a feature of the bullet trains, and run on dual voltage systems for overhead and third rail pick up. The Class 395 is also unique in being able to run under TVM430 track-to-train signalling on the high speed section of the route and traditional aspect signalling on the ‘classic’ section.

The Southeastern Class 395 for Train Simulator features extensive internal and external detailing, including full start-up procedure, in-cab lighting, passenger view, roof detailing with working fans, driver vigilance system, accurate overheard catenary, trackside detailing including AWS boxes and ramps, and up to the minute signalling on the ‘classic’ route.

London-Faversham High Speed is an accurate depiction of a fantastic modern image UK route with stunning scenery through the Kent countryside, accurate depictions of London St Pancras Station, Ebbsfleet International Station, Rochester Castle and Cathedral, and the QEII Bridge at Dartford, and many hours of enjoyable and challenging driving.

The Class 395 is officially licensed by Southeastern and has been produced with the kind help and cooperation of Hitachi Rail Europe.

This is a good route which is quite long and gives you two trains but one part i dont like about it is that you are underground for such along time when you are at st pancras-ebsfleet and i got kind of bored after some time but overall, i think it is 7/10

I love this route. I got it with TS2014 back in the day, and I still have it.

Pros -
If you got TS2014, comes with Class 801
Comes stock with class 375 electrostar and class 395 javelin (a lot of trains have recycled sounds from this, nothing new)
Only boring bit is between South of Elbsfleet and St. Pancras
The bit between Faversham and Rochester is very fun

Cons -
In Quick drive you can't call at Newington or Gravesend
No free roam scenarios included

8.9/10 I love it, if you love passenger trains in the UK, get it.

I bought this add-on, but I can't get it's photo at the routes list. It has a prohibited way sign instead of the usual photo of the route.

How can this be corrected?

A great route, one of my favourites, however the train is very hard to drive at first. I recomend newcomers to watch videos, and read full manuals on driving the 395, so the route can be fully enjoyed in its entirety

Very nice add on
It's a good train, with an fantastic line, that has lot's of diffrent aspects to it, from high speed, to low 15-30mph sections. Which keep the line interesting to drive.

All scenario's work, no problems with timing, lighting, AI, etc.

The train is good, in cab is good fun. The change over system, for going from OHL to Third Rail, is very easy to use, once mastered. There is also a good scenario / level teaching you how to do this. Good aspect from DTG there. You all get an extra train, for free that can be used in QD and other scenario's if you own the line. So there is a good added bonus from DTG there.

Is it worth list price? Does it give value for money at list price?

What about discounted, or in a sale? What about a bundle?? Yes if that's available DTG are giving you even better value for money.

YES. If you like this train, then you can have hours of fun with it in QD on OHL lines and DC lines. If you own them.

Is it's a good asset to your fleet of trains. Cracking train to drive at high speed on long runs. Also with the extra free train, that also comes into play for you in QD on your other lines.

There is one small downside, when running QD from Faversham to London, the real time clock is not working, though this does not de-tract from the fun to be had. So please do not let that, stop you from purchasing this add-on.

Well worth it, Enjoy....

This is one of my favorite routes in Train Simulator. This route offers a wide variety of passenger services. There is a nice variety of rolling stock included in the route, and the route is extremely high quality and very, very well done. There are plenty of stations along the way, ranging in size. I really enjoy driving on this route and very highly recommend this route to anyone.

This route used to be bundled with the 2013 edition of TS. It's divided into two sections - a high-speed and a low-speed one. I like how different they are (in both the way you drive and the scenery). There are also 2 completely different locos supplied. I will now briefly highlight some notable features.

Class 375:
- fun to drive if you like stopping services, quite fast and has appriopriate brakes
- cruise control
- two-tone horn

Class 395:
- fun to drive if you like express services, this thing goes beyond 140mph
- great in-cab signalling system. I believe the 395 is the only loco that features it so far (I might be wrong though)
- animated 3rd rail, pantograph and (!) coupler hatch
- multiple headlight configurations

You now have my permission to try this addon yourself :)

London to Faversham is a great route, especially the simulated Channel Tunnel Rail Link (CTRL) power mode and the signalling system. This is a very unique route in that sense. It comes with two trains, which is the Class 375 and Class 395 for the SouthEastern Highspeed and normal services. The supplied scenarios lack AI.

Its a nice route and would only recommend it if you like fast trains as you can blast along a sizeable the CTRL line all the way to Ebbsfleet International in a Class 395 that is the UK's fastest passenger train in revenue service. Once you get to Ebbsfleet International, its then time to switch from the OHL to the third rail before continuing onwards to Faversham. The stock included is the Class 395 that is used for the included scenarios and you do get a Class 377 EMU which is mostly used as AI traffic but it is a player drivable train and you can drive this from Ebbsfleet International to Faversham on the third rail section of the route if you wish. I would recommended getting the Class 466 with Sheerness branch add on to go with this route as then this will give you the full benefit of the route.

Overall Rating: 9/10.

A rather nice run but 'high speed' can be a tad misleading as the high speed section includes around three stations only with the remainder of the run being on a commuter line. With only a few scenarious that already come with this add on it's ideal for those who want a mixed run or quick trips.

I have to be honest, this route is pretty bland. No doubt its excellently detailed scenery wise but thats where it falls short. The HS1 line only stops to Ebbsfleet, so thats not much High Speed running. Then you switch over to the DC lines to Faversham and fly at a dizzying 50mph looking at very little along the way. Its a nice route, but i personally would not biy it freewillingly. But thats what happens when they bundle it.

One of the best routes for Train Simulator in my opinion. You get a base to do almost anything, from state of the art high speed track (with the great duel voltage class 395 Javelin), to suburban 3rd rail that can use both modern stock as well as being a good base for classic slam door units as well. Goods fans have a nice large yard at Hoo Junction to play with and its certainly worth getting the Sheerness extension to run freight down to the docks as well as adding a nice little passenger branch. TS 2015 owners will have this by default but if you don't, its well worth a look.

This DLC package does not meet my expectations for the price.

Dislikes -
1) Most systems are not simulated, basic systems only functional. There is a whole stack of LCD monitors in the cabin that are just blank. Seems that not much effort into simulation has been placed and I found standard stock trains operate better.

2) External train headlights do not work. There is a nighttime mission that is impossible to complete as you literally cannot see a thing ahead of you such as fixed unlit signs.

3) Basic game functions dont seem to work properly for example when attempting to pick passengers up from stations you can come to a complete stop open the doors, wait for the counter and the doors to close before annoyingly getting a message stating that you failed to pick up passengers. I did a whole 60 minute mission only to have this happen on the second last stop meaning the mission was incomplete. Frustrating quirks like this are many.

4) The train model itself appears unfinished for example the high speed tunnel section gives speed limits in km/h however the guage reads in mph. Every time the speed changes I had to calculate the conversion just to know what speed I was meant to be doing otherwise the train flips the emergency brakes which will not disconnect even after coming to a complete stop. In the instructional mission this is all corrected and working but for some strange reason not in the normal missions.

5) The system that changes the trains power supply to and from DC does not work. For example I ran a whole mission from London to Faversham without changing from DC power.

6) This may not be the fault of the developer however the route itself is extremely boring. You have one high speed section (220km/h not so high speed) out of London and from there on you a plagued by extremely slow speed limits between stations sometimes not getting above 30mph for long periods. I dont believe that it is possible to run a high speed service where most of the trip and I mean about 80% of the journey your not exeeding 50mph. The speed limits will bring you into stations from a great distance demanding you dont exceed 15mph. At that speed it feels like you could walk faster than the train as it arrives.

7) There are many more problems with this program and if it was a free DLC I would be quite satisfied with putting up with its many issues but certainly not when it is priced so high. I mean I can buy all the episodes of Life is strange for less than this DLC. It doesn't add up because the time and effort does not appear to be there for this DLC. This DLC has been around for a while now, these issues should have been rectified. The fact they havent just spells highway robbery in my book. Dovetail or whatever your called, you need to pull your head in and stop overcharging for DLC's.

Positives:

1) The sounds are not bad, I like the sound of the train as it spools up and down.

2) I like the track apart from the stupid speed limits once your out of the high speed tunnel. With a good train it might not be so bad.

2) I am trying to be fair but I honestly cannot think of many good things to say about this DLC. It should be priced at no more than $5. For that money it would be worth having for the track. But it is definately not what I would call a High speed DLC. The high speed section is mostly in a tunnel and it isnt that fast.

I hope this review is helpful, I am not trying to bring the developer down however they are quite happy to take my hard earned cash, charging a premium for what is undoubtably a broken DLC. FIX IT.

I'm mainly a North American train guy, but occasionally the stars allign, and I want to drive a tight schedule commuter out of London. This pretty much accomplishes that.

Pros:
-The route is VERY nice looking. Its very green, and vegetation is lush and pops. Cities and towns feel very realistic, both in scale and depth. This is a really fun route to drive just for the scenery alone, which I promise will never be boring.
-The High-Speed portion is really fun, honestly. You'd think from watching a video that the fact you're in a tunnel would make it boring, but the entire time you will be looking at your speed, and making sure you're going just fast enough, but slow down fast enough to not be speeding at the next change. Just take me from my word, that the High Speed portion is really fun.
-Stations are far enough apart where you feel like you can pick up a lot of speed, but not so far where you're getting bored waiting for the next station to appear on your hud.
-The inclusion of the 375 is nice for variation.
-The 395 and 375 are certainly up to DTG's recent quality standard.
Cons:
-No 375 Scenarios
-No Eurostar available (yet). come on DTG! My St. Pancras feels so empty without seeing the Eurostar stationed at the platform, and like its the most iconic train that runs on this line, too.

Also, while I'm not counting this as a con, if you're reading the "High Speed" thinking it means the entire route is High Speed and you think it means you'll be able to watch your train whiz by at incredible speeds, this may not be the best route for you. Most the High Speed is undeground, and only lasts from London to Ebbsfleet, which is granted fairly far, but certainly not the whole route. If you want a High Speed route, I reccomend a German route, such as Hamburg-Hannover.

Esseentially the main reason I'd purchase this route, would be because the route itself is very pretty, and its fast enough and the scenary changes enough to the point that you'll never get caught looking at the same sort of boring field or hill or river or whatever for too long. Like I said, I'm primarily a North American freight sort of guy, just because thats what I grew up around, but with my minimal knowledge of modern British rail services I can find myself having a lot of fun on this route.

A very good piece of DLC - even though it is actually a combination of 3 routes (HS1, North Kent Line and Chatham Main Line) but overall it is a nice full route drive. The class 395 is one of the most detalied trains on the game and well worth a good drive. Class 375 is exactly the same as the 377 but with different livery. The class 466 is also very realistic but the horn is wrong. It's not worth the full £25 but good value in a sale.

Okay, first things first, this is a very good route, with smooth track, and good scenarios for the 395.

Bad:
No scenarios for the class 375, which is a bummer.
Can not use on my computer, some sort of compatibility issues which cause extreme framerate drop.

Otherwise, yes, i would recommend this route...
